  1. Jim Retirement isn't for the faint of heart. It seems like modeling and motorcycling came more easily when I was working! The memorial looks terrific, I'll have to get back over there come next spring and take a better look. Thank you for your help on it. I came across a youtube channel, 10 Percent True - Tales from the Cockpit, has an episode Puffy 12, with ongoing video by Jeff Guinn. Pretty neat This old Infantryman gets to live vicariously through guys like you. Thanks for your reply, and best wishes in your endeavors. V/R Scott (AKA the 'Vark mang
  2. Just ordered through Casemates, and got $20.00 off by applying for PayPal Credit! Tommy, thanks for the heads-up. May I quote you over on HS to help get the word out? Jim, have you ever considered publishing something (broadly) similar to the Squadron/Signal in combat series? To include your 'Vark modeling tips/fixes, stories or anecdotes and photos from your (and possibly others!) career? Sort of all your online stuff wrapped up in one bag, with experiences thrown in. I'd buy it in a hot minute! Anyway, thank you, I very much anticipate your book's rele
  3. Thanks! Squadron/Signal USAF Phantoms in combat shows an in flight pic of an FA-coded Phantom on page 53, along with a color drawing of the pod on page 37. Better yet, Steve Miller describes a 1972 Night Owl Fast FAC mission on pages 23 through 28, describing the load out, to include the SUU-42 pod. That is the A/C I'm trying to do. FP coded, #733.
  4. Any pictures or other information on this? I've scratch built one using a gun pod from the Monogram F-5E kit, (1/48th) but can't find any pictures to show markings, pylons, or weathering on one. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  5. I use both. also. The DAP can also be found on ebay, and at most hardware stores (Ace, in my case). My only problem was not using enough powder at first. Be generous. Great stuff!

  10. ANY Grey/White early -A models would be appreciated. Also, as a thought, what about the FB prototype with the SAC sash (63-9783)? The Academy F-111C kit has the longer wings, and the TP1 intakes, don't know about the HB kits.
