Hey all, Working on an Airfix 1/72 AV-8A and have come up with contradictory info on cockpit, landing gear and wheel well colors and camo colors for low viz AV-8A's in the early 80's. It appears that the cockpit and landing gear is FS36270, but airfix calls out Sea Grey and light aircraft grey respectively. Also it appears that when the AV-8A switched to low viz markings the camo changed from green FS34079 and Grey FS36173 to the camo used on early AV-8B's of Green FS34064 and Grey 36099. Original camo: Low Viz: Is it just a trick of light or was the camo changed? Ca

Steve, I was looking for a bit of both, but photo coverage mostly. Andre I will concur on the Daco stuff, don't have the F14 book and am looking but it seems to be out of print. HABU 2 I was also looking for the Modern Eagle guide and Hog guide but as mentioned no joy. Any ideas on the other aircraft I mentioned?

So after a 10 year hiatus from modeling I decided to get back to what I loved at the beginning of the year. A lot has changed in 10 years and the past few months have had me spending hand over fist to, a. rebuild my stash and b. get the extras for those kits. What I've come to realize in the past months is Holy Crap there's a lot of books out there! So in the past month I've been trying to figure what's the best bang for the buck when it comes to an all in one references, I mean one could buy Squadron signal books out the wazoo, but their books on ,say the mig-21, can't cut it compared to Y

Still looking. -
Thanks all. Yes, I understand that most paint manufacturers do a version of RLM 02. The point was I do not have that color at present and have read of such practices of using other colors instead of RLM 02.

Hey all, Just starting my first kits after MANY years hiatus and have a question about late war Luftwaffe wheel well/bomb bay colors. I've started on Revell's 1/72 Arado Ar. E 555 and have hit a snag. I understand regulations seem to dictate RLM 02 for interiors except for cockpits after '41 which where RLM 66, snag is I don't have anything close to RLM 02. Is it feasible to assume that late war aircraft may have had wheel wells and bomb bays painted something other than RLM 02, perhaps RLM 66 as in some BF-109 cases or RLM 76 as in BF-109 G/K cases? Thanks for any help.
