  1. Thanks for the link, but I forgot to bookmark it and now it doesn't seem to work. Error 404. Anyways, I don't recall if the tracks were primed with a primer or just given a coat of desired paint. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Doug
  2. I was sure I posted this before, but I could not find it, unless it was on a different site. Oh well. I've got Academy's 1/350 scale RMS Titanic that I purchased many years ago and did start it at one point. But I had used enamels and well, at that time my painting skills were not that great. I only got a couple of deck pieces painted in the 'wood' color but wish to start over. Anyone have any ideas about how to clean the old paint off and restart? Or should I just find a good primer and go from there? Thanks, Doug

    Trumpeter

Local hobby/ gaming store has a Trumpeter HMS Hood 1931 kit. Anyone know if Trumpeter is a good kit or should I stay away from it. Just wondering is all. Doug
  4. I'm currently working on some 1/56 scale German Troops for WWII and the officer has an overcoat and officers cap. I would like to make it look like he's wearing black leather...any suggestions on painting him to look like it? Obvious color I'm sure is black. Thanks, Doug
  5. A few years ago I got myself my first model tank...Tamiya's T-55...loved building it too. Now, while it is not complete, due too not sure about how to deal with the rubber style tracks. As in painting them. They are glued, but stuck on this part... How does one paint them? What color is good to give them the look of being dusted up? Thanks, Doug
  6. I've got the Testors Enamel color Cdn Voodoo Grey and am looking for this color in acrylic. I don't want to use the enamel paint due too the smell of it and the fact that cleaning it afterwards isn't my choice either, where as I would prefer acrylic. Anyone know where I can get an acrylic version of this color or what colors I would need to mix it? Thanks, Doug
  7. Actually Bruce, Wolfpack Design aren't decals...sorry for the confusion. They are additional resin parts that can be put onto an existing kit to either enhance the model or in this case, make it look like its got some upgrades. Mind you, you can get decals from them too. http://www.wolfpack-d.com/ I've also got Leading Edge decals for my Voodoo, which are very nice, one reason to get them for my CF-18 project :) And thanks for the heads up on Canuck Models...very nice. Though I wonder if there are suggested color instructions with them? Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I appreciate it
  8. The 3rd alternative is a very good idea. I also went with 1/48 as I already have a Hasegawa weapons kit that I may or may not use on this kit. The idea of either having the CF-18 upgraded to Operation Mobile or not and putting extra bombs on it are still very good ideas in my mind. Once I'm done with this kit and the Voodoo kit I may look at Academy for another kit. Possibly a Spitfire or Hurricane. Doug
  9. I just signed up on the ARC forum as I am slowly getting back to building aircraft and armour. Aircraft are my favorite of coarse. It's been some time since I have actually sat down and built a model aircraft, but not saying that I don't have one on hand...Revell 1/48 F-101 Voodoo with Canadian decals. Then just recently, and one that I've always been wanting to build is of the CF-188 or commonly known as the CF-18. I did do some research and got a kit from the net, but ended up being the F-18C, not the A or A/C kit (which has the same cover photo). So now I have two options. 1- find the
