Mission Models Polyeurethane Intermix gone bad?
seafuryfb replied to Cameron Lynch's topic in General Discussion
The older acrylics like poly s and gunze suffered from being subject to extreme temperatures, just some stayed in liquid form but would perform no so well , like not drying, going lumpy when mixed with thinner. And become my like jelly. Its why I don't think mail order is best for ordering paint .especially if it is allowed on aircraft, not all cargo holds are pressurised. -

That sounds awesome Kursad , you could easily make a full sheet with early hornets in the early low vis scheme if there is interest, there were at least 7 units to fly that scheme before the change .

Do you need a scanned copy of the monogram 1/48 F18 prototype or second release A18 kit decals for reference ? I can email them to you.

Are you going to do any eurfighters?

Kursad are you planning to do any militarlised 737s?

Upon looking at the instructions they 60s era jet which is bare metal finish and would not have fixed IR seeker , it is a first batch A/c , second batch had fixed IR seeker were painted silver lacquer or Lt. Grey

Kursad do you have any interest in doing any of these A/c from VF201 or other unit A/c , there has been decals for VF202 but not all aircraft.?

There is one particular mk xvi that has not done there are not much custom marking on it (nose and such ) but the generic code letter decal sets don't have the right style. Enough thought the air craft is well photographed in flight coded 8K-K later lost on a mission.

Hi Kursad , I have a 1960s P3A from Vp8 if you going to print a/c from the early era two tone scheme color picture .

According to the aricle on re-whining the B52, P&W want to revamp the TF30s the modern standards, but it sounds the Airforce wants new engines . 4 engines is out as the wing structure would have to altered to accommodate the larger more powerful engines plus internal changes. RR has proposed their br725 engine with support, this engine is currently in Gulfstream 650 and Bombardier Global express E11 1000lbs lighter about the same thrust and almost half of the fuel consumption. Approx 2000 hrs between overhauls compare to 6000hrs. As far as GE there is speculation of which engine their TF34

The problem with the LHS is that most rely on distributors to by stock, and some manufacturers will give distributors better discounts on stocking that the LHS. If they were to buy stock direct from manufacturers then the prices would be close to the Internet stores . I can give you an example the manufacturer sells the kit at say $9.00, the distributor will mark up the kit because of the overhead costs ( shipping ,duties if any ,warehousing , staffing and taxes) and sell to the shop for $25, the LHS then has to mark up for their costs of overhead. We the consumer picks up the tab when we b

The aswer in yes David Winter is the man behind Canuck decals, Dave Koss is the man behind Leading Edge decals. And my memory these days gets the better of me about the licensing agreements and David did mention it. As far as color birds go as in decal sales it depended on the color scheme of which one sold more , that's what I remember from when Rick sold them at Uncle Bill's Hobby. They also would sell better at the time the demo is flying.

I was at the ipms Hamilton contest last Saturday, it was an impromptu visit. Met David Winter there and he had a table at swap meet side . A few things have changed since Leading Edge did color birds, David Winter said he had to get licensing for BofB CF18 in order to produce the decals. He said the Jim Beliveau no longer has any interest in helping decal companies for decals of toy airplanes. Since the Leading Edge fiasco of the Tiger Cf18 were he was give a cease and desist order the there will be less likely we will see more color birds Cf18 decals. BK

I hace met so many people who think the arrow was the ultimate fighter plane that could almost anything, like its kind in other airforces it would done its 20+years as an inceptor and no more, out of the century series of interceptors and what the RAF used not many strayed from there purpose of design. The F104 was picked to replace F86s in the tactical roll even it was a nuclear one, RCAF original choice was the F105, but they wanted to built here, until our government wanted GE to build the P&W J75 here. In the end the government had to get orenda to make J79 for 104s to their embarrassm -

I found the chart showing the range of different mark of arrows specs , and it lists the range as combat radius at high speed, that would be not at cruise speed of mach. 91 but at mach 1.5 which would make a significant fuel consumption rate. Thus the short combat radius and range from base, cruise range would be a farther distance at a slower speed. The Voodoo as a comparison cruise speed is mach .83 with a combat radius of 550-600 miles , this is not at a high speed and the fuel consumption is much higher a higher mach speeds. The posted range for the Voodoo is probably max range at cr -

I would like to know why people think that the Avro Arrow was short ranged compared to it contemporaries. Even though most books are written bye enthusiasts there are some interesting dilogue with engineering staff and actual documents that pertain to the CF105 and buying US interceptors that were available at the prior to cancelation. The Arrow was canceled early 1959 and CF101 began entering service in 1962. Part of the cost added to the Arrow project, is the Orenda Iroquois engine, originally not intended for the arrow. Avro borrowed money for both projects from the Canadian government, -
