3D printed 5x F1 fitted to Dragon Saturn V

It's a great tool if you keep in mind it's limitations when modeling. This all came about when I saw Michael Key's and Oli Braun's models. I decided to dive into 3D modeling. All self taught with some Youtube help- 17 replies

I've been doing these drawings and adding detail for 12 months. Sure it's missing pipe work but otherwise I am more than happy with how they have turned out. You can see inside bell details have changed between 3 iterations. These are size wise to scale height and dia. The support requires some modding to fill the holes and make room for the intake shroud and the actuator arms need adding. the center engine had a minor print issue which I filled.

https://www.shapeways.com/shops/technology-minatures?section=Saturn+V+F1+Engine+(1%2F72)&s=0 Created using some kind of blueprint. Unsure if scale is accurate but it's designed to fit the Dragon Saturn V

RIP Michael Collins These men were true trail blazers of the last century. They certainly don't make men like that anymore

Just another short sighted money grab by Dragon it sounds

Obviously the chopper got there before they opened the hatch ;) I have tried find printable 3d models at various sites and without paying $$$$ there's not a lot out there

1/72 Saturn V - a reboot of sorts

This would be awesome in resin. I have not done any printing in a while and the new Photon Mono has a print area big enough to handle stage 2 I would think. At least in sections. -

.175mm top of shade .25 around the bottom Only done as an example of what 3d resin printing can do. My skills are feeble compared to others -
I never really thought before about it but the RCS thrusters must have been inside the bow wave to not get damaged?

If I had Manfred's talent and patience I would not have gotten into 3D. I did it because I saw Oli Brauns SpaceX stuff but postage is horrendous to Australia so thought I'd give it a go. It's like playing a musical instrument. You can learn a lot on your own but you need a course to be a master or a lot of years on your own. The thing with 3D is it costs nothing to draw and edit and re draw to get the design right. Draw once and print thousands. Massive saving in time. I could draw the light shade and bracket in less than 10 minutes and have it printing in 20. How many
