  1. Hi everyone, After another solid 5 hr session although doesn't look like much has been done haha here is where i'm at now. The hardest part of the cockpit is actually done. I also bought this new Iwata compressor as my old Iwata compressor was getting a bit long in the tooth... Anyway this cockpit should be 90% done very soon i say 90% because i am going to add all the wiring and various lines also which in the Mossie's cockpit there is quite alot of. Cheers Lee..

  5. Well off to a slow and steady start ( First few steps of the 105 step instruction book ) The first thing i did was make enough of my own green primer for the whole kit using ( Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer 60% ) ( Mr Hobby Color - various green's 30% ) (Mr Retarder Mild 10%) Could not resist taping the forward Fuselage together but coming back apart now to fit out the Cockpit with all the details and mount the 4 Browning 7.7mm machine guns. Cheers and ill be back !! Lee....

  11. Hi all a quick update, Starting this epic Kit Tonight should have build photos in a day or two. I am going to build the RNZAF No 487 Squadron Mossie that was shot down in 1944 by a FW190 on returning from Operation "Jericho" And a little bit about operation "Jericho" if you don't know....... Air Vice Marshall Basil Embry was originally intended to command the attack but was later forbidden from flying on the mission, as he was involved in the planning of the invasion of Europe. Pickard took his place, despite his limited experience of low-level attack. The mission was delayed by ve
  12. Thank's I used Tamiya enamel x11 chrome silver / xf16 flat aluminium applied with a Tamiya Modeling brush pro no 000. Cheers Lee...
  13. Thank you !! yes you are right it's hard for the camera to show what it is like in person.
  14. And after a clear coat of Mr Color 181 semi gloss mixed with 182 flat clear i was ready to apply the final touches. I added the wingtip navigation lights and marker lights on top of the wing by first painting chrome silver then clear red and clear green. I used a silver wash on the Cowling and drybrushed the propeller and spinner with light brown oil Color then added a reasonable amount of exhaust staining and gun residue on top of the wing I also added the antennae wire between the post and tail with a piece of sprue stretched as thin as i could get it and it was a pig of a job getting that

  17. On with some light weathering this will be my first time using oil color for fading ect .. And now the result after adding the oil fading and some staining underneath the aircraft ... i think some more very light faded areas to give the sun baked and salt effected look plus paint chipping what do you all think ? Cheers !! Lee.
  18. The rest of the major parts are now painted for the propeller and spinner i used Mr Color a mixture of dark earth & hull red then for the exhaust i used Mr Color tan for the base color then a mixture of Tamiya enamel flat black-clear orange-clear red and panel line accent color brown brushed on in a patchy style then airbrushed the gear doors and well's with Mr Color 57 Metallic blue green... Decal time.. I had no problems with these decals at all even the super fine panel lines showed through they were applied with Mr mark setter & Softer..
