  1. Hi! So two down, three to go, huh? Here's another one. Fujimi: After 14 hours and 6 minutes of building it's ready for some paint. Frankly, I felt like half of the time I was just puttying and sanding. Fujimi is the only one that features full length intakes. So the first order of bussines was to fill the ejector pin marks and cut down the stubs at the end of each intake half. I will not be putting fan faces before everything is smoothed out. After sanding smooth I glued the halves, applied generous amount of putty on the insid
  2. Love the exhaust painting. Very nice. One thing, I've never seen such staining on mlg doors. Is that from the brakes?
  3. Lovelly Skyhawk.Great looking paintjob. Though i'm more used to the ones with hump on the back for the IAF.
  4. Nice! Like how F-16 looks clean config.
  5. Always a pleasure to see another F-23. Northrop shure did knew how to build them.
  6. Nice. I like the paintjob. Will have to get one mtyself just to try it out. Shame about the decals though. I'm building an F-4j of VF-96 and they're horrible.
  7. I definatly see where the argument of DGG outer tails comes from. And I suppose You are actually right, based on the posted pictures. The picture of 301 is probably the one I'd say looks the most to have LGG outer tails. Next one would be 314. But I can't say it's 100% LGG, and I know my eyes might be playing tricks on me. To me, both grays are pretty much blue. DGG a bit darker, and perhaps LGG has some creamish bit of hue. All depends on the lighting I suppose. It's been ages since I've seen actual Hornet. And I do remember it being blueish. What I don't have any explanation i
  8. Makes perfect sense. I often used blue tack when when closing the gear covers on in-flight build. But it's easier to just cut out gear well and glue them from inside. Can't really apply this technique to the F-16 nose though.
  9. I always thought TPS was just Tactical Pain Scheme. Toned down and such. Don't quote me on that one though. Might be just something I picked up on the web 😉 Well, You're right about TwoBobs instructions. I did not check that. Probably that came from people working the actual jet. I admit, on more than one occasion I painted the outside of tails LGG, despite some instruction saying otherwise. Besides, TwoBobs instructions show a picture of NE312 with what I'd say 36375 outer tails. Also, check the contrast on that pic. Paint diagram does'nt seem to affect this. Also, I've another sh
  10. Nice. I'm curious how will You rate the kit, after it's done. I'm building a Kinetic Polish F-16C, but I've not yet painted the intake, or anything else for that matter. Gun insert isn't the best part of this kit. Perhaps You could post some slightly bigger pictures? I've read the nose panels fit is horrible, but You've seem to managed them nicely.
  11. Very nice Tomcat. Love the paintjob and weathering.
  12. Thanks Kurt. It was a plesant work. Even the rescribing wasn't that bad. So, who's next? Hobby Boss! One of the newest moulds. The kit sort of reminds me of Hasegawa Hornet. With some things taken from Italeri one. Such as the fuselage to tails transition. It took me 12 hours and 55 minutes to prepare it for paint. Super basic cockpit. Heck, this has all the details of the Hasegawa (i.e. basicly none) just already assembled. First order of bussines was to fold the wings. Appropriate cuts were made, and the wings were separated. While Italeri plastic was soft,
  13. Nice. I hate working with PE. Exhaust looks awesome. Perhaps You could subsitute this detail on the splitter plate with plastic rod? First put on the splitter plate, than drill holes in proper positions, and after that, put a rod in place, cut it, sand flush, and voila! Unless there are some locating holes on the other side of the splitter plate, it'd be easier to drill them out.
  14. Nice progress. Love the underside weathering and the slight patchy and weathered overal look. If I may, shouldn't the fin be painted Light Ghost Gray on the outside? I always thought this was standard TPS on all Hornets. I tried to find a picture to prove it one way or another, but the best one I found are these: NE 302 from flickr NE 305 from Wikipedia NE 307 from Wikipedia Obviously, as is the case with Hornet pics, You can;t distunguish the Light from Dark gray. But the contrast between the tail flash and tail color on these pics s
  15. So the Italeri Hornet is pretty much ready for the paint barn. The game plan is to have all the builds to that stage, do a quick comparison of key parts (nose, tails, length) and then go on with the rest of the work. Here's the cockpit IP. What Italeri gives oob is insanely inacurate. A central display of sorts. So I took some plastic and made sort of mfd's. I've also added a HUD from a destroyed Academy kit. As I'm clocking every of my build, I'm quite surprised this one took me 18 hours already. The part that required most work was a join between for
  16. Nice progress. You are very quick. I'm curious how will that tail look after final coat.
  17. Nice Tornado. Like how You managed to make a one colour camo interesting.
  18. +1 on the Hasegawa. I've not the Academy neither GWH kits, but I prefer Hasegawa over Fujimi or Hobby Boss or old tool Academy (which I have huge sentiment for). Yes. It's a bit like walking through a minefield. But with guides You can beat it. So basicly watch out for nose to fuselage joint, intakes to fuselage and the beaver tail attachment and You are set. IMHO, the nose to fuselage join is the hardest to get right. If You fail it, then that's just another place to putty and sand. Dry fitting is the key. I'm actually looking forward to building Hasegawa F-14 again.
  19. For the seams I often use vallejo putty. The one with long applier. After application You can wipe it with anything. Even a blade will do. But generally I just rescribe raised lines. Hate it, can't do it well, but I guess it pays off with sanding. Keep up great work.
  20. Background looks very nice. But so does the Crusader 😉 Lovely plane, and You did it justice.
  21. Very nice! Love the touch ups on the topside. Great work.
  22. Nice Skyhawk. +1 on the finish. Didn't know TA-4's had a gun.
