  1. So I am just being paranoid? :fight:/> Actually that makes some sense. I am not that familiar with Paypal as I have not sold anything using it, only purchases. I can see if the other party is a "friend" or has a good reputation on the forum it would be safer, and reduce the cost of the transaction. Personally I would prefer to pay the additional money for the Paypal safety if I did not know the other party. Complaining about someone asking the purchaser to pay part or even all of the Paypal fee seems shortsighted to me as it is the purchaser that receives the protection. According to the pa
  2. First off I really love this the ARC forum, especially the Buy and Sell and Tools 'n' Tips sections. I hope this post is not against the rules but I tried to read the "For Sale Rules of the Road" and the link just goes to a message saying "Please read and follow the rules of the road...". Can anyone tell me where to find the rules? Next, I have noticed a number of sellers on this forum only take cash/check or money orders. I can only see two reasons for this: 1) They have been banned from Paypal (maybe for for fraud?) or 2) They can not get a Paypal account, maybe because they do not have a
  3. I just received one of each of the Albion Alloys variety packs(ALBSFT1 and ALBSFT2 - $6.49 each) from Sprue Brothers yesterday. Thanks for the suggestion chukw. There are 4 x 12" (actually 305mm) pieces in each pack (one each of 0.3-0.5-0.7-0.9mm and 0.4-0.6-0.8-1.0mm). I don't know off the top of my head what gauge these correspond to. They do look like they will make an acceptable alternative to hypodermic tubing. I have not tried it yet so can not say for sure how well it will work but I do like that I can solder it if needed.
  4. I am looking for the 1/72 Fujimi A-4E/F Skyhawk "Lady Jessie" (released in 1994 I believe). I would consider other boxings of the 1/72 Fujimi A-4E/F. I need this kit to round out my 1/72 Vietnam collection. Thanks EDIT: I am also looking for a 1/72 Fujimi A-6A Intruder and A-7A Corsair II. I am not looking to sell, and I prefer to buy but I decided to add some trade bait for the A-4, A-6 and A-7 just in case. All offers welcome of course. Here is what I would be willing to part with from the stash: 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1/2 "Bird Cage" Corsair Kit #61046-2000 with Ultracast #48028 resin seat w/
  5. I received the Hypersonic Models 1/72 F-4 outer wing pylons and these things are exquisite. Great detail and probably the easiest casting block I ever removed. The kit parts touch at the front and back but have a gap along the center of the pylon-wing joint. These resin pylons fit tightly all along the length. I will leave them empty but you could attach a TER or MER to them and hang any appropriate ordnance that you like. A great product. I should have ordered more than one set. Highly recommended.
  6. Is the "Accurate Miniatures TBF/M" a TBF-1C or a TBM-3 and which boxing is it?
  7. Balls47, I tried 3 local pharmacies and even showed them pages 39 and 40 of "Applied Modeling Encyclopedia" - euro Modelismo by Squadron/Signal and they could not help me. Did you ask your pharmacy about their source? or the pricing? Maybe you could provide contact info on the pharmacy. That would help alot. I had forgotten about this. Your last post reminded me that I did that once. I used the needle from a dispensing bottle, put masking tape around it and used my dremel cut-off wheel to slice off a couple of 1/48 A6M2 cannon barrels for inside the wing. It worked perfectly with very little
  8. I think I saw the 1/72 Hasegawa F-4G for sale over in the "Buy and sell" section.
  9. I'm starting a new thread because I do not want to pile on the other Wolfpack decal thread now running. I would like the whole Wolfpack Decal Sheet 72-060 "Black Ops" but would settle for just the VA-35 A-6A part. They were SOLD OUT before I knew the company existed. Can pay for item and shipping by PayPal, credit card, money order or personal check. PM me if interested. Thanks Never mind, I just ordered Wolfpack Decals #72-015, 72-030, 72-039 and72-060 from Fantasy Printshop.
  10. Thanks for the replies. I actually specified "Hypodermic tubing" and NOT needles. I believe that is the correct term for small gauge stainless steel tubing. I searched the forum and found the previous thread but did not see the answer to my question. I had seen all three of these sites but was hoping to find a source that had an assortment pack and was a little cheaper. Not knowing what size ID and OD are most useful I wanted to get one of each but not at over $100. Still, McMaster-Carr has 1 ft. lengths for not too outrageous a price if I can narrow down the best sizes. So can anyone with ex
  11. I have been trying to find a source for an assortment of inexpensive hypodermic tubing in 14-30 gauges. I have searched and searched on line but still come up empty. I have seen assortments of dispensing needles with the luer-lock plastic caps but that just adds cost, and they are only 1/2 inch long. Hypodermic needles are illegal without a prescription here in California so it needs to be just the tubing. Anyone know of a source or have an idea? Thanks
  12. Paul, Sorry, been away from the computer. I just emailed you. Thanks again.
  13. Paul, I have the M117s from the Hasegawa weapons set but I would definitely do about anything for the pylon/MER part. PM me so we can work it out the cost and/or trade, And Thanks!
  14. Well according to the instruction sheet for the 1/72 Monogram F-105 kit there is no center line pylon of any type provided. I built that kit back in 1978. Andre, might you be referring to a different scale kit or different brand, or does Monogram have a newer 1/72 Thud than Kit No. 6808 (Copyright 1966) which includes the pylon? I am building the 1/72 Trumpeter kit.
  15. I actually have hundreds of photos and numerous 1/72 drawings of the pylon in question but I was hoping someone knew of a resin source for it that has eluded my search attempts.
  16. This is my month for pylon issues. I need to follow-up my previous F-4 pylon question with this one. I need a center line pylon for a 1/72 F-105D (Trumpeter kit), the one that is wedge-shaped and commonly seen in SEA with a MER and six M-117 bombs on it. Does this exist anywhere in any form or do I need to scratch build it? Thanks
  17. Thanks for all the informative replies. I love this forum, I never visit without learning something. I am doing "Showtime 100" from VF-96 on that fateful day. Please no insults, these are the decals I could find (Yellowhammer Models 72002), I have always liked the scheme, it is an historic aircraft and I'm doing it... even if Duke did end up being a crooked jerk. So I know I need 4 (flat-two)or 6 (fully loaded TERs) Mk.20 rockeyes on the inner pylons - opinions differ but I kind of like the look of the flat-two option. I have about 50 rockeyes from various sources. I have plenty of AIM-9D
  18. I am building a 1/72 Hasegawa F-4J and want empty outer wing pylons. After cutting off the kit wing tanks from the pylons, gluing them together and sanding them down to perfection I noticed in every photo I looked at that Phantoms from SEA always seem to have an adapter on the empty pylons. Alot of wasted work! Then I found these from Hypersonic Models: http://www.hypersonicmodels.co.uk/product/f-4-phantom-outer-pylons-navy-72 Are there any other choices for replacement 1/72 F-4 outer wing pylons with the adapter? Are these available from anyone in the US? (When I try to purchase them I ge
  19. I recently ordered the Kora snakeyes from evilbay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/381096783950) They looked good in the photos, but in reality they are some of the worst resin I have seen. LOTS of flash and air bubbles. This will require quite a bit of work to get 12 good enough for my 1/72 Fujimi A-6A Intruder. Those Northstar Models snakeyes look much better but cost more. The Kora ones were 18xMk82 snakeye and 3xMER for $18.99. The MERs were not as good as the ones in the Hasegawa weapon sets. It looks like you can get 12xsnakeye for $18 from Northstar Models. I think I will get some to co
  20. OK, since everyone is having such a good time maybe I should ask "Will you be my hero?" Thanks for the answer: A monster rack is 2XAIM-120 on one pylon.
  21. My brother is doing a painting at the request of the folks from VFA-147 (Argonauts) down at NAS Lemoore, CA. They want a painting with historical CAG birds in it (an A-7A, F/A-18C and F/A-18E). For the Charlie (F/A-18C) they want "a monster rack on the outboard and a GBU-12 inboard". So what exactly is a "Monster Rack"? Thanks
  22. Can anyone tell me which kit these were designed to fit? I have the Academy F-8E. http://www.victorymodels.com/xtradecal-1-72-decal-set-ltv-f-8e-h-j-crusader-nas-china-lake-x72160.html Jeez 1/72 decals are rare! Thanks
  23. I have the Eduard Bf 110E and it looks great as far as detail, and the decals are gorgeous, but I have not built it yet. I have never seen either the Dragon or Cyber Hobby kits, but I am curious as to what criteria you used for this statement? ie. cost, detail, fit, etc. I assume you have built both. The details might prove useful to others as well. Also, is this meant to answer the OP's original question regarding the Dragon/Cyber Hobby being the same kit? I would like to know also.
  24. Thanks Netz, I already searched the Tools-n-Tips section back to December but could not find the post. It must have been a digression from a topic. It would take hours to go through all the topics looking for this post. I will probably stumble over it again sometime. I looked at the Liquatex retarder but bought the Golden brand retarder. I believe they are both for acrylic paint. As I recall the post I am looking for said the product was for oil paints but would work for enamels.
