  1. I love my HP-CS.  To me, the ease of cleaning, due to the compression fit of the nozzle design is huge.  I don't necessarily enjoy the "fiddly" super small threaded nozzles of most other air brushes.

Though, I must say, in hindsight, that I should have picked the HP-BS, as it does have that smaller cup.  For some reason, I sometimes "look down the shaft" when painting fine lines. and the large cap sometimes gets in my sightline.  Though, Dave's points about cup size above are quite valid.  Currently, the HP-BS is ~$112 on amazon. I guess it depends on your style and use case.

    There are two of each.

Doesn't look to be, out of box.  plus would seem to be a touch of scratch building for cables and connectors...etc.  In a DCS video, the control unit looks to be on the right panel, behind the TACAN controls.  I haven't seen a close up of the cockpit just yet to see if it is there.

  3. G-man, are you handy with a jig saw, wood glue and drywall screws?  maybe you can try your hand and do like I did, where I made my own.  It was a fun little protect, DIY'ing allowed me to put in a more powerful fan.  I did use MDF, so it is pretty heavy.  I paper napkin'ed the dimensions for the air filter I wanted to use.  I did have to hire a plumber to drill thru the foundation to mount a new dryer vent......  It isn't the most "beautiful" piece, but it works great, and IIRC, it was less than $100.00US for all of the materials.

That is something new for me. I have always heard that Academy decals are the worst and for every each of theirs kit I should by aftermarket decals. Hope you are right.

go to nachjager's YT url, and read the caption starting at 9:30  just for 15 seconds.  At least with their a6m2b.

  5. At least here in the USA, Revell has been a price based value leader. Sometimes one gets a gem like their F-22 and sometimes you get a clunker. I expect this will be under $20.00 at hobby lobby soon. I don’t think either GWH’s or academy’s excellent offerings would ever be available at that price.

  6. I find it disappointing that Revell went the way they did with the stores. If we consider that they have a “standard stock” of weapons from earlier kits, I guess they forgot that they have had amraam’s in their F-16c kits since 2002 and AIM-9x’s since their F-18e kits since 2009.

Though, to be fair to Revell, the aim-7’s aren’t called out in the instructions. They even mark them as unused.  However, the instructions do call out AIM-120’s in the paint and decal section.

Just a a bit of a head-scratcher that they chose this route.  Just a few corrections, and it would have been a great kit, especially at the 25 Pound price point.
