  1. Something really fine, but like with most things in this hobby a lot of it is technique. Filing the burr at the correct angle, not too much pressure, and holding the rest of the part in the correct spots, like dnl42 said, is the key. Patience Grasshopper. smooth even pressure. Purchase good, quality tools. One good quality tool is better than a dozen crappy ones. Jester Disclaimer: Anything I post is my opinion tempered with experience, knowledge, and research. From time to time I am seriously wrong. It happens. If you don't make mistakes you don't learn nothin. if you have a better
  2. Natalie, Lemmy and now David. It always seems like the end of the year and the beginning of the next always brings them home. Is it always in threes or is that just me? Bowie was a musical Magician. He could do it all. Jazz, funk, pop, punk, new wave, rock, metal, name it. Hell, I even saw him sing White Christmas with Bing effing Crosby. I'll miss you Ziggy, because you know, Ziggy Played Guitar.... And Lemmy, was just Lemmy. you got what you came for. Never disappointed. ev-er. Natalie? Didn't know her. didn't listen to her. I understand she was quite talented. Had some probl
  3. I cannot wait until someone starts to tell you that you are using the wrong color of green, or that Yoda's head isn't sloped enough, or that books by that company just plain suck.... Consider the pot stirred.... Jester
  4. Hobbylinc is one of my big 3. I shop there all the time (online) They normally have what I am looking for, even some of the older kits. Sprue Brothers and Scalehobbyist are the other 2 If I had the internet when I was a teenager, i would never have had any money, but I would have a pantload of models. Jester
  5. I seriously like the Typhoon left hand pull away, Like, "Oh, did I show you my Weapons? Here ya go" Sorta the "I'm totally serious here" pose. Gotta love a fighter pilot. Jester
  6. Thanks! Please let me know how long it takes to get it.

  7. I have never found it anywhere in the US. I think Contacta is UK only

  8. I have not been able to find it here stateside. Did you find some online shipped to the USA, Christian? Jester....
  9. Has anyone attempted to build or built the SkunkWorks R-11 Refueling truck, or attempted to convert it to an R-9? It looks interesting, and I was wondering if anyone has tried it, or if you could throw some sort of Mack Cab on the front of the R-11 and make it an R-9. Like from a dump truck or something. Jester
  10. From what I remember from the guys I worked with, and the Pod shop guys, and from what I have read, the AN/ALQ119 Jamming Pod was used in Vietnam. Hung on F4 Wild Weasels. I'm sure it had gone through several updates since then, but I'm about 99% on the Vietnam usage. I always Have at least 1% doubt for deniability :)/> Jester
  11. The AN/ALQ-184 Jamming pod is carried by any of the aircraft that used to carry the AN/ALQ-119 Pod. The 184 is a Raytheon upgraded Westinghouse 119. Raytheon upgraded some of the circuit boards (the PCB's) and the Antenna(s) The 184 came out around 1982 or 83, if I recall. The only aircraft I have seen carry either one were F-4's, F-16's, and A-10's. There MIGHT have been some on F-111's and F-15's But I have never seen one hung on them. We used to ferry the 119's on station 3 of the F-16, then quick turn them to station 5. I have seen them carried on Station 7, because it was the Isola
  12. I'm With Jennings on this. The He-111P is out? I haven't seen one for sale, and the Airfix USA site says "Pre-Order", so where are they? I looked at the usual suspects. I would like one, so if you know where to get one, please share! Jester
  13. Received my Revell B1-B 1/48th scale kit from Squadron today. Ummmm.....HOLY CRAP IT'S HUGE!! I set the over-pack box out by the trash and two kids from next door came and got it and built a fort. I mean, I read the specs and all that, but until you actually pick it up and hold it in your hands.... I don't think my desk is big enough to build it. Oh, wait. A good reason to expand the Man Cave Area! More Bench! Bigger Spray area! More Shelves! More Paint! Where's my Lowe's card..... Jester
  14. I was taught never to disrespect anyone's property. EVER. You don't mess with someones stuff, PERIOD. We don't key cars, we don't destroy video games, we don't throw personal belongings into the yard, or just generally break things on purpose. If you do stuff like this you have no respect for the other person, what it takes to earn the money that was spent on the items you destroy, and no respect for yourself. And, your parents should have taught you better. You have a problem with me? Come talk to me. If I'm spending too much time doing other things when I should be doing something e
  15. If you spend 50 bucks at Squadron today you get free shipping! Just picked up the B1-B by Revell... It ends today. Hope it's okay to post this. I am not affiliated with Squadron in anyway, and will receive no payment or preferential treatment. Just thought it was cool to not have to pay shipping. Jester
  16. Thanks Tom. I'll look some more! Jester
  17. Ok, I give... I have returned to the Revell F-101B Voodoo 1/72nd scale kit. Really like the kit, but I'm having issues. One of them is trying to determine what position the flaps are supposed to be in when they are extended. I have seen them in different configurations, from slightly open like a clam shell, to hanging down at almost a 45 degree angle. With the Kit parts, it seems like the only way to have them is extended all the way down, or cut the little triangle "feet" off and close them. Anybody got any info on this? I have googled it, and normally with the bird on the ground the f
  18. Yeah, but the Academy F-111F is not available anywhere, at least I haven't found one. So I figure a New B1-B, an RB-57 from Mach 2, and a, so far non-located, Academy F-111F should wipe my modelling budget for the year.... Jester
  19. Interesting... I noticed that some of you have Found a way to spend time with SO's and still model, where I am banished to my "Modeling Vault". Sometimes I have a little guilt going to "The Vault" and abandoning my wife, even if we are just watching TV. In all Fairness my "Modeling Vault" is in the Study, where she also has a desk and a computer, and I work at my desk, which also has a computer on it. I have to airbrush in the garage of course. Tried it in the study, it was an unhappy time. I do brush paint in the study/ Vault though. But not while anybody is in there. Eventually I am
  20. 61-0410 I'm a Quail. A decoy. McDonnell GAM-72A-30-MC Quail missile. gee... Jester
  21. All I know about Lindberg was that most of the models had some sort of motor in them. The Boats had a motorized screw, the Tanks had motorized treads, and the planes had props that spun. And of all the kits I purchased, they were the worst about having missing parts. I still won't buy one. As far as the Remote Control, I don't think it was a "radio" as much as plastic cables attached to stuff. Just a guess. Someone else made little motorized Tank models back in the late 60's early 70's. I built a bunch of them. Sorry, a little off topic... Jester.
