  1. That is one striking scheme! Paint and weathering are all outstanding. Truly a work of art, well done!!!
  2. Got my Hase F-14B and Revell F/A-18E today, many thanks! Kits were in MINT condition, very pleased. Great seller here, buy with confidence!!!
  3. To be honest Brian, I think even $25 for the sheets, considering how much work goes into these and how high quality they are, would be more than fair. Don't think you would see any drop in business, at that price. Now, at $30 each I would still buy 'em, just might not buy as many...
  4. Outstanding! The weathering, especially when viewed from the top, is superb. You must be very proud of this build, and if not you should be!!!
  5. I will be there. Will be my first show, no models to take but will definitely be looking for some deals. Looking forward to meeting ya Kris.
  6. Outstanding work on what is my favorite (obviously) airplane! This is going to end up being an absolutely gorgeous finished product. I have one of those kits I would like to do eventually, so I will def be referencing this thread when that time comes.
  7. Wow. Just wow. That is all I got. I must say I approve of the choice of markings used
  8. OH, and I wanted to add I love the "Christmas Vacation" reference in your post. One of my fave all time movies!
  9. That looks superb! Just went through your build thread on this, nice to see you finally were able to get it finished. I would like to do an F-35 at some point, maybe I will just wait until it is operational and a better kit comes out for it (hopefully). BTW, it is very cool that you are from just down the road from me... :)
  10. That is an awesome Fulcrum! The technique used on the decals is very convincing. Looks great!
  11. Wow, the details on that F-16 just "pop"! Beautiful paint job and subtle weathering. Very impressive indeed!
  12. Awesome A-7! Really dig the "future dio" pic. Well done!!!
  13. Beautiful! I see what you mean about the paint scheme, it is very striking. Very well done!
  14. Everything looks great to me so far, but I am not really an expert in the colors yet. I mostly just had to comment to say "O-H!" :)
  15. Thanks Clif for the very informative post and warm welcome! I have been searching very diligently for JR decals in 1/48 for the past month, and for the most part I have been unsuccessful. BUT, I did find (and bought!) the Furball Airwing All-Stars 2 decal set, and it has nice low-vis VF-84 markings. As far as hi-vis, I will keep looking diligently and hope (and perhaps pray) that FTD re-releases one of the older JR sets (victory in the storm would be epic *cough cough wink wink*) I now have everything I need to start, so I will do so very soon. I actually have a Hasegawa F-14 VF-103 kit
  16. Woot!!! If these are in 1/48 I am most certainly getting a set! :-D
  17. Thank you Joel for the well thought out reply and thorough advice. I think I will take your advice concerning starting with a Tomcat to heart, as I do not want my first attempt to be doomed from the start out of frustration due to fitment and other assembly issues. I have read good things about the Revell F-15E, which I did get pretty cheap. Would that make a better start, in your opinion?
  18. Haha outstanding! Thank you both for the warm welcome. I wonder what part of Ohio Chris is from, I am from NE part of the OH. I will have to remember the post count thing, as I do indeed see that I am still at ZERO. LOL Hopefully I will soon have the ability to add worthwhile content elsewhere to this site. I was a longtime moderator and innovative member of a large national car enthusiast forum, so hopefully I can make that kind of contribution here some day. Until then I will look, listen and learn... and perhaps add my .02 here and there where warranted. :)
  19. Hi Everyone! My name is Michael from Ohio, and I am just starting to get back into this hobby. Waaaaaay back when I was a kid I used to build model airplanes, but they always ended up terrible. LOL Heck, I didn't even paint most of them, and the one I did looked like it was painted by Ray Charles. Anyway, I am currently building up my supplies, tools, and model stock before I attempt my first one. I will be doing 1/48 modern aircraft almost exclusively, especially Tomcats (which, being a child of the '80s in the US, is a common choice)! So far I have a couple kits to start with, and jus
