  1. I juts picked up this kit for a good price. So far I've found that RealSpace has a couple of nice resin sets, and Space Model Systems has a nice decal set. What should I be aware of with this kit? Is anyone aware of any online builds or reviews thatI can take a look at? The goldish chrome tint of the Command Module exterior seems unrealistic. I've never dealt with "chome" model pieces before. How do I go about removing it? thanks! Matt
  2. Thanks Jay, excellent job. I'll have to pick up a kit!
  3. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I think that I will try and take some better photos this afternoon. Sorry that some of them are blurry. Its hard to get a good high aperture photo without using a tripod. The slow shutter speeds are a killer!
  4. This is a very underrated kit. While much of the trumpeter "bashing" is deserved, this kit is an absolute gem, and very fun to build! Very detailed interior, parts fit great with very little filler needed. Trumpeter kit, MM enamel paints, TechMod decals & Masks, promodeller wash. I still need to add some exhaust stains and rigging, but other than that it is done! More photos added below
  5. I LOVE this Scheme. Here's to hoping it get's upscaled to 1/32!
  6. Ed Rasimus' "When thunder Rolled" & "Palace Cobra" Flying F-105's and F-4s in Vietnam. Great books.
  7. Thanks for the tips everyone. I already tried to brush some future over it, but no luck. I'll try some polish next, and if that doesn't work, I'll sand it down and polish!
  8. So I'm almost done with a 1/32 trumpeter Avenger. I'm just putting up the finishing touches. I've run into a problem. One of the canopy glass has gotten a foggy haze on it. I can't seem to get it off. Here is the process I used. 1 - after removing from sprue, I placed vinyl masks on the part for framing 2 - sprayed undercolor and final color 3 - gloss coated 4 - weathered 5 - dullcoated 6 - removed vinyl mask, and noticed haze underneath I initially thought that maybe some dullcoat or CA glue vapors got on the canopy, hence the frosted look. So I future'd it. But the haze will not dis
  9. I've always been a jet guy, but I'm currently building a 1/32 trumpeter Avenger and having a blast. What a great kit! I'm interested in picking up another 1/32 navy fighter, either: - 1/32 Trumpeter F6F-3 Hellcat or -1/32 Trumpeter SBD Dauntless Open boxes are ok, as long as all parts are present. You can PM or email me. Thanks for looking!

  16. It's good to see other M1 Carbines and Garands! I too collect military surplus rifles. Mostly WWII. I love the little carbines, fun to shoot with alot of history! Here are mine from left to right: M44 Mosin Carbine, Remington 1903-A3, Saginaw S'G' M1 Carbine, Inland M1 Carbine, Springfield M1 Garand, M91/31 Mosin, M16A1 Clone. The AR is a little out of place, but I love those retro black rifles. My other major hobby is flight sims. I have a ok setup with a homemade "pit" made out of pvc piping. It is simple, but much more immersive than just a joystick on the desk. I also enjoy mountai
  17. Usually whifs don't interest me much, but this is Awesome! There is something about a eagle in SEA camo that is slick! Great job on the camo!
  18. Two pet peeves: When you are entering a construction zone, one lane is ending, so you move on over to the open lane, along with 80% of the other cars, like they should. They usually give you like a 2 mile notice, 1 mile notice, 1/2 mile notice letting EVERYONE know that the lane is ending and you have to merge. Then you get the 20% of D-bag drivers who speed up in the closing lane for the last 1/2 mile and then expect people to let them in at the last possible second. I REFUSE to let those people in. In fact, when in comes down to it, you will have to smash into my car before I let you get in
  19. Pretty Cool Jennings! Do you know if the Kalamazoo Gazette posted the article online? I'd love to read it!
