  1. Looks great! I also have the conversion, and this makes me want to get mine out and work on it!
  2. We'll I'm continuing my "You need to finish these kits before you open another one" streak. This is the old Revell tomcat kit. 1/32 scale. Overall it is a pretty solid kit for it's age. With some patience and some filler you can make a nice looking kit. The biggest struggle is the seam between the front a rear fuselage, but with some care, the amount of filler can be limited. The biggest downfall I see with the kit is the oversized fatty nose, and a squashed front canopy. But heck, for $25 you can't ask for much more. If I remember correctly, I added Tamiya AIM-54s, AIM-7s, and Trumpeter AIM-
  3. Added new photos. I feel they are less "washed" out, but check out the red background! ha!
  4. Thanks for the kind words all! The trumpeter kit is pretty good. No glaring or obvious shape mistakes that trumpeter sometimes makes. I think the lines and shape is pretty good, but I'm not a hornet expert by any means. The kit fit is pretty good, but some care and time needs to be taken with the intakes. I used filler on the intakes and also on the forward fuselage where the top and bottom halves join. A few disappointments for this kit: The kit cockpit is ok, but the cockpit lacks any sidewalls. This might be ok in 1/72 or maybe in 1/48, but it is noticeable in 1/32. I've also heard that
  5. Thanks for the kind comments from both of you. I still would like to try and take better photos and update.
  6. Don't know if Trumpeter is planning on it, but Harold @ AMS is planning a conversion. Also Eli @ Zotz is planning to make decals! 7. Great idea! The A-10 is a perfect candidate for such a "cross-breed".Have fun and post pictures!
  8. Well, this isn't the best work I've ever done, but it was a couple for firsts for me. Overall I think it came out ok. I became impatient towards the end and rushed it. - First time I used salt weathering. Interesting concept. Its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. However after I put on a final dullcoat, whiteish splotches started to appear. Maybe the salt dried and faded? I'm not sure if I got all of the salt off entirely. I tried glosscoating over to fix, but no luck. Kind of stumped on that one. At least the splotches kind of go with the navy fading/weathering of a line bird. - Fir
  9. The fact that sellers can no longer leave negative feedback has really caused me to find other outlets to sell my stuff. In my opinion to much power has been given to the buyer. When stuff like what you mention above happen, you feel pretty powerless. I recently put a telescope up on ebay. It was a fairly high ticket item, (not a walmart scope) so I was anxious to get it sold. One bidder put about 10 bids on it throughout the 7 days and he clearly looked committed based on how much he was bidding. He wins the auction, and I don't hear a thing from him. He doesn't respond to emails and all I
  10. You'll be in Hog heaven here: CombatAce Pretty much the go to place for all things Third Wire. Nato Fighters 4 is an all inclusive mod that you can find at combatace. It has campaigns in the 1970's and 1980's, IIRC. I believe it is based on Strike Fighters 2: Europe. The Tomcat is also an add on that you can find on Combatace. Although it should be mentioned that Third Wire IS working on a Tomcat sim. I'm pretty excited for it.
  11. If your looking for a sim that is "middle of the road" between fun and realism you can't beat the ThirdWire Series. It is highly mod-able and has a large community following. Its a great sim to jump into and fly when you have an hour or so of free time. I also spend alot of time flying FSX. There are times where I'm still amazed how good the game can look; as long as you have a beefy computer that can handle it. FSX definitely was not the best Microsoft coding ;-)
  12. John, you are a stud. Drop me an email when you get home!
  13. Aaron,Good call on the Academy F-16 kit. I have it and didn't even think about looking into it. Thanks for the offer! I appreciate it! For now, if someone still has the TERs from the F-4 kit, let me know. Time to crack open the Academy CJ kit and see if they will do!
  14. Hey all! I'm looking for a set of 2 TER's from the 1/32 Tamiya F-4 Kit. I have the "J" boxing which does not include them. I do believe that the C,D,E, EJ, and Marines kit does include them. If you have extra, I would really appreciate it. I have a decent amount of 1/32 weapons for trade, or I can pay $$ if necessary. I'm building up showtime 100 and need the TER to carry the rockeyes that were loaded on the MiG killing mission. THANKS!!
  15. I voted for the F-86 because I'm in the market to pick up one and build it up as well. Plus "The Huff" markings are saweeeeeet!
  16. WOW! Great Job! Is the camo freehand? How did you do the exhaust stains?
  17. The Italeri kit is a rebox of the Kinetic kit, Correct?
  18. Wow! Amazing work in such a small scale. I build mostly 1/32, so I couldn't imagine doing so much detail work. GREAT job!
  19. I've gone the last 2 years and have had fun! I'll try and make it 3 years running!
  20. Beautiful! Do you have a picture or profile of the bird you are doing Also, great work on your instruments! What is your secret?
  21. You need the nose weight.. I used Terry's weight when I built my A-10 and it was drop in and simple. Also, Pickup a Squadron Vac canopy. The Kit's windscreen is porked up pretty bad. Hope this helps.
  22. From the article: ...Or maybe you should have thought twice before deciding to name it Kitler??? While there is a minor resemblance, I wouldn't have made the connection. The name "Kitler" makes it easier.
  23. I think I'd rather see BATTLESHIP. Just kiddin' this looks really good!
