  1. hey its just a cartoon... dont get all serious about it.... ;) agreed on the bomber designs... :) er so has anyone here completed their sky crawler models yet?
  2. i think it does, if u wanna wait a coupla days, i can check to see if my pylons are still there. I didnt use them on my Lock-on F15E. If i can find them u can have them... they are pretty fiddly....!
  3. (EDIT): Yeah, Kusanagi's just looking for the next hot pilot to roll around with under the sheets. HAH! i knew it, so i wasnt the only one to get that impression! That last fight scene is awesome, that look of horror when Kannami realises the Teacher's cannons are right in front of his face... and that slo-mo Skyly pirouette around the Sanka as its being blown apart...
  4. Thanks Milo! I just got my Albatross and Eindecker in the mail today! woohoo!!! they are BEAUTIFUL...! i am in lurve with them! The E.III is the profipack with PE... i am not very good with PE but am going to give it a shot! The Albatross has such good molding, now i know what a good WW1 kit looks like! No i wont trash the Esci kit just yet, will follow ur advice and use it for rigging practice! I am so impressed with these kits, i'll have to get more in the future!
  5. maybe the kildren was cloned from him? also did you get the sense that kusanagi was manipulating everything? at the last scene after the credits, she almost has a sly/knowing smile when she said she was expecting the new pilot?
  6. yeah! thats an awesome looking design! did u catch the movie? wasnt the Teacher a vicious SOB....??
  7. anyone have photo updates to their builds? I just watched Sky Crawlers again, and just can help but say what an amazing animated movie it is. Just the 30 seconds of that opening sequence leaves me flabbergasted. And the sound of the engines and the guns and the screams of the dying pilot....
  8. Interesting picture! Is that orange on the tail planes?

    Next GB....

Maybe this should be posted in the classic aviation forum instead? since i have just picked up a couple of 1/72 eduard kits, i might join the WW1 GB.
  10. wow nice builds!! alvin5182, yes those thick trailing edges look horrid! Did u have to sand down the 20mm cannon wing bulges? the kit parts look weird! you did a great job on that kit! touvdal, your MkVc looks nice too! very subtle weathering! i thought the receseed lines on wings combined with raised lines on fuselage would be weird, but it doesnt look too bad in your case! i should post pix of my badly built spits here!!
  11. Hi mbittner yes its the 72nd scale ones! Its a D.V and an E.III! cant wait for them! any thing i should look out for when building these? any major errors that need correcting? TIA!
  12. aaargh i just bought an eduard Alby DIII and a Fokker EIII through ebay. I think it comes to about AUD30.00 including postage. MOFO, Anything to look out for when building them? i may just start rigging them with these kits.
  13. Thats a really nice build of the MkV! Are those colours correct? I thought most Med theatre Spits had the desert yellow/brown/azure blue combo?I may be wrong...
  14. Excellent answers! Thanks all! That aeroclub link is great, is there a pic of it somewhere? built or unbuilt? Can that wing be used on say, the italeri or Tamiya Mk Vs? Also on the Airfix MkVc wing, those upper wing bulges seem.. er... a bit too prominent. Is that correct? the bulges on the Vb wing are more 'aerodynamic'. What are your thoughts? I just finished rescribing the fuselage. Apart from that, this may be just a OOB build. I am not sure if I can handle scratchbuilding the cockpit! thats what i liked about the Italeri kit, even though the fit is a bit fiddly... it has a cockpit! bu
  15. I did a search here and also on Google, but cant seem to find anything? I have the kit and the older release Mk Vb, the wings are different, being much much thicker in appearance... Anyone here has an opinion on this kit? Any mistakes or errors i should fix? TIA
  16. great job on them! the paintwork is superb considering how small these damned things are... I LOL'ed when i saw that R2 unit!!!!!
  17. Hi MoFo Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Yes I am more of a casual WW1 builder and I have not graduated to even stringing them up. I have only built 2 other WW1 planes, the Esci Camel and the Airfix Pup. If there arent any glaring errors with the kit (again a very subjective thing i guess) i might just finish it up. As i am in Australia, getting an Eduard kit under US5.00 is virtually impossible! Oh how lucky you guys are over there! i gather that the Eduard Alby is the bees knees, i'll eventually get round to building one someday. Again, thanks for the response! cheers
  18. I have one that's been half built for about 15 years, was wondering if i should finish it or get one of the newer Eduard releases? What are your thoughts? Thanks!
  19. holey moley, them's great looking models!!!! Ken, thanks for claryfying prefix/suffix! i stand corrected (and wiser)... So what everyone is saying is I CAN build a Mi-17 from the HB Mi-8T kit! Excellent, cos i just want to build it OOB, perhaps with different decals. :)
  20. Okay so i can build the HB Mi8T as an Mi8, (no T prefix)? Thanks!!!! am watching your build with interest! seems like we share the same passions... Flankers and Hips (and other Russian made goodies!)
  21. hmmmph! havent had so much fun in these forums since the Tweet discussions.... Carry on, gentlemen....
  22. Hi all Does this mean i can have a 'weathered and used' zero in grey? and perhaps leave the bottom half of the aircraft (not exposed to sun as much) a pistachio green? thx
  23. awesome Ken! inspirational work!! er quick question... what can i build out of the box with my HB Mi-8? Does it build into a Mi-17? thanks
  24. I just picked mine up from the LHS.... it looks nice! just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about it. As i have built one Dragon Mig17 in North Vietnamese markings (and have another waiting for another North Nam bird), was wondering if this HobbyBoss Mig 17 can be built into an Egyptian bird? Did the Egyptians have the non-radar equipped -17? TIA!
