  1. Has anyone managed to get extra sprues from Borgfeldt? I tried to contact them but they never answered my email.
  2. Tamiya Tiger 1 built OOB, Tamiya paints, kit decals. not much else to say. I hope you like it.
  3. another piece of armour. Tamiya kit OOB
  4. whatever you need, just ask. I currently work on 757/767 but I can get most likely get access to a bunch more
  5. while out for my weekly grocery trip, I decided to stop off at the local hobby shop for some P.E grills for my tamiya tiger kit. and maybe a gun barrel of they had one. now last night there was some discussion about how great the Sotar 2020 was, so I looked them up online. (see where i'm going with this) and if you can find one they are running in the neighborhood of $400 cdn. cut to today when I have a few things in hand and am waiting for the till to be free. ( I am keeping my distance like a responsible adult) I notice a Brand new Sotar 2020 in the display case with a bargain base
  6. wow ! well done Collin. it makes me want to build one.
  7. no internal detail, and the doors are molded in a way that would make showing them open difficult
  8. to quote someone famous "it's uuuuuuuuugee" the base is just shy of 12 inches across. I am currently out of bananas for scale, I hope this is adequate.
  9. give in to your feelings...you know you want to build one of these. I agree it is VERY Star Wars-y and looks super cool. and thanks for the compliment
  10. Here is my 1/35 Takom AK-130 gun turret. as with most Takom kits the plastic is great, but the instructions need work. some dodgy assembly sequences aside I really had fun building it. some things to watch out for if you are going to build one. the railing around the base should be assembled and fully cured BEFORE adding it to the base. I was left with some challenging seams to deal with. there are 2 photo etch parts on the gun, leave them off. they disappear under paint , but when you elevate the guns they scrape off the paint leaving you with bare brass showing through. I eventually glu
  11. Takom 1/35 AK-130 naval gun. not too sure which section it belongs in though. is it armour or a ship?
  12. did you want shots of the wheel wells or just the wheels? anyway here is a couple of shots, 767 and 757 this is the left wheel well of a 757 looking forward. it is painted white, but the cpc looks like a big oil leak. it gets touched up occasionally and you can see some sprayed on the door actuator this is the right well 757 nose here is a 767 main well. it is a bit cleaner than the 57, this one is recently out of a heavy check
  13. Hi Ronald. the intake is painted white, the intake lip is a inflatable rubber deice boot that is shiny black. I cant help with aft top part of the engine, google might help.
  14. all the airliners I have worked on were painted white....buuuuttt Boeing has them sprayed with corrosion preventing compound. which looks like an oil leak. add to that actual oil/hydraulic leaks and you get a very sloppy looking gear well. on a model I would put a dirty brown wash over the white. I can take some pictures tomorrow when I am back to work. as Ben said struts, doors and wheels vary between grey and white.
  15. those little type 94's are super fun to build, added bonus I don't need my glasses for most of it. the green one is chinese, it comes with a really nice resin figure. the multi colour one was the most fun to paint
  16. not quarantined but still building this was last month, Takom 1/16 panzer 1 I had so much fun with that one I built 3 of the type 94 tanks also in 1/16 next up is the Takom AK-130 naval gun
  17. part deux the big square hole is the outflow valve, it controls the air pressure in the cabin
  18. sorry for the lousy response to the first questions, I thought Dave was asking about the P.E sheet. this is for the Astraeus plane pictured above. #1 on the far left should be #3 on the P.E sheet, it is a drain mast for the APU inlet. #2 is a drain mast for the aft galley on the passenger version, and a drain for the main cargo deck on the cargo version. the other #1's are VHF comm antennas there are usually 3 of them and the placement on the fuselage changes depending on customer options and mod status. the P.E pitot tubes are not %100 accurate but they will probabl
  19. the Dash-8 cockpit is grey the seat cushions are a light grey, the instrument panels are grey as well. the landing gear wells are painted white but get dirty QUICKLY. and considering the amount you can actually see I would just paint them dark grey.
  20. #1 are the VHF comm antennas, there are 3 #2 are drain masts one is visible in the pic above the rest are for a 737 not too sure where #3 lives #4 are the pitot tubes for the elevator trim computer (or whatever its called on the 737) and they live at the bottom of the vertical stab. I will try to take a couple more shots of the 757 tomorrow morning. but this might help you can see the forward VHF comm antenna with red stripes just above the guys head. and the other one on top of the fuselage. you can also make out the drain mast just forward of the
  21. as for the polished aluminum look I highly recommend using alclad paints. find a micro mesh polishing kit, polish everything that you want in bare metal. any scratches or sanding marks will be amplified by the metallic paint. prime it with tamiya gloss black thinned with mr color leveling thinner then spray the alclad. I used polished aluminum on the main portion of my f-104. oh and we all want to see pictures of the kit when you are done .
  22. the entire wing to body fairing and belly forward and aft of the wing are composite. one theory I had was some kind of heat shield for the ACM exhausts?
  23. here is the RAT marking. as for the rest the big grey square is a mystery to everyone I asked. the cut here markings are specific to an airline. they are likely around the cockpit.
  24. these might be optional. I'll have a good look on friday when I am back to work
