  1. Hello All, I wanted a break from mainstream Plastic Injection moulded kits and build Large Scale Models. The First project is a 1/20 Scale Su-30Mki. It’s made from Foam Board, Polyurethane Foam, Tons of Putty, skinned with Fiberglass and further skinned with putty. the Panel lines were marked upon as scribing was lifting up the putty. There are a lot of inaccuracies, but I have made peace with it for now. The model will get updates in the future. Enjoy the pictures.. . . Regards from India Aditya +91-8860441002
  2. Hello Everyone, Been long since I posted anything here . . . All thanks to COVID-19 . . . My latest work . a Minicraft 1/144 Super Constellation in Air India colors. The kit is a simple build and the parts are few. Very little filler was needed but the parts had to be accurately shaped and the flash was removed for a crisp model. Painting was first done with chrome spray paint which was masked and thereafter the top white coat was applied. The wing walk areas and the Grey Nose were brush painted. Do Enjoy the Build. . . The wing walk areas and the
  3. Greetings Everyone, Trust you are doing well. . . My recent work of HobbyBoss 1/72 Dassault Rafale. The kit is very simple with few parts, but they have adequate detail for this scale. Weapons provided are also adequate except the kit could have included LGBs but its ok for a kit this old and with this price. The model is painted with locally available acrylic paints. As it was a commission build I got to build 2 of these . . . . πŸ˜‰ Do enjoy the build . . Best Adi youtu.be/RR0Z3wv0bas Β· on
  4. Hello Everyone Adi here . . . I wanted to make a Snowy Base for the Finnish AF Hawker Hurricane which I just completed. To make the base I use Plywood and cover this with acrylic putty. I use baking powder to sprinkle the base for the Snow Effect. I make trees using wooden kitchen skewers and single strand wire. For the branches I used dried grass as I did not have access to Woodland Scenics Sea Foam. I make my own flocking using a sponge and I churn it in the mixer. I make two different shades of green. I spray the trees with diluted PVA Glue and sprinkl
  5. Hello Everyone, The Tamiya Hawker Hurricane Mk.I is a Superb kit, although its an Italeri rebox. The kit is a simple straight forward build and its a New tooling for the Hurricane in 1/48 scale. The detail is great out of the box for this scale and the panel lines are not overdone. The overall fit is great too. Decals provided are great with lots of options, a bit thick IMHO. I really liked the Finnish AF colors. The kit is built OOB and no mods are done. The paints used are locally available Acrylics and are airbrushed. For the c
  6. Many Thanks Everyone . . Really glad that you all liked it. . . . .
  7. Hello Friends, This is a Build of the HobbyBoss Sukhoi-30 MKK in 1:48 size. I build this kit into a Su-30MKI in service with the Indian Air Force. The build is OOB with required additions or modifications. The mods include : 1. Making the LERX - Leading Edge Extensions alongwith the canards. I make this using plastic card and epoxy putty. Once the putty dried I sanded the thing to shape. The panel lines were rescribed with reference to the line drawings which are available on the internet. 2. I modify the tails as the ones used by the MKI are diff
  8. Many Thanks everyone. . . . Glad that you like it. . . . πŸ˜‰
  9. Hello Everyone, My first try at making ocean waves. I use my old Hobbyboss 1/72 Sh-60 Jayhawk kit and I modify this by adding rudimentary pilots, open door and a winch wire. The Rotating blades are made by using Clear Acrylic sheet which was masked and painted with RED White and Yellow Stripes. Black was Painted on the bottom in a fading stroke. The waves are made using silicone rubber and Baking Soda. I put two layers and I think it did a good enough job. The base is basic plywood and topped with foam and acrylic putty. Paints used a
  10. Hello Friends, Just finished the F-15DJ of the JASDF in the Aggressor Color Scheme of Sand, Brown and Black. Academy F-15E Strike Eagle kit has been used as a donor kit and built into this F-15DJ. The model is built OOB and no mods have been used. The paints used are locally available acrylic paints. It has taken me around 20 days to build this model and I feel that it still is incomplete. Specially the decals and the stencils. Due to the pandemic I haven't been able to get my hands on the Relevant F-15DJ Decals and Stencils. Thus for th
  11. I agree with you . . . I have had a hard time too . . What I have accepted is that a lot depends on the photo settings as in the camera settings and the light on the aircraft . .. so I have made peace with accepting an average colour on the aircraft colours and stick with it . . . . Hope it helps. . . . πŸ˜€
  12. Hey Thanks for that. !!!! I didn’t know that about the missile hardpoint . . . Thanks. . . .
  13. Hello Everyone, 8th October is celebrated as Indian Air Force Day. 2020 was the 88th Air Force Day for the IAF. I present the Mirage 2000 to commemorate this day. The Mirage 2000 was upgraded by the Indian Air Force and was re designated as Mirage 2000I. The kit is from Kinetic in 1/48 scale and is built Out Of the Box. The build is simple but Kinetic hasn't mentioned much in the instructions about which parts to use for the different variants which can be modeled from one kit. So you will need to refer your references for the particular version you will be building. The
  14. Hello Everyone, The MIG-21 Bison (MIG-21-93) is primarily used by the India Air Force and is an upgraded version of the Later Mig-21s. The aircraft has a new radar and integration of modern avionics and weapons. The donor kit is a Trumpeter MIG-21 MF and is converted into a -93/Bison with various changes and scratchbuilt parts. A new Vac Form cockpit was made at home using a clear sheet. The overwing avionics bays were casted in resin from scratchbuilt masters. The spine is also corrected as the Trumpeter spine is too flat on the top side curve. this was a
  15. Hello Friends, Presenting the Sa315B of the Indian Army. The kit is from Heller and is of the SA313 in 1/48 size. This was modified into the Sa315B. The Model is 100% Brush Painted using locally available acrylics. Stretched Sprue was made using discarded pieces of the kit sprues and was used extensively for the detail and scratch-building. The rear fuselage skeleton was chucked away as it was too thick for this scale. This was made with stretched sprue. More detail was added to this using the same stretched sprue. Cockpit was bare with littl
  16. Hello Everyone. . . Just did a Trumpeter 1:48 scale MIG-27M Flogger J in the Indian Air Force colors. . . . the kit is a decent build but with a few flaws and is a tad bit inaccurate . . . Mostly Trumpeter is making the most of the common moulds . . . The kit is built OOB with added hydraulic lines and adequate modifications to represent the upgraded Mig-27 of the Indian Air Force. Paints used were locally available acrylics. Two glaring problems are the bulgy nose and the same main landing gear carried over from the other Mig-23 kits and not having
  17. Hello Everyone, This is the Hawk MK132 used by the SuryaKiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force. I have used he HobbyBoss Hawk Mk127 as a base kit and did little modifications to complete this as the Mk132 version. The kit is good with not much fit issues but it is inaccurate in some places. 1. the Nose tip is sharp and has to smoothend out for the correct shape 2. The wings are from a Hawk Mk 1 i think as they have 4 wing fences moulded in ... . HobbyBoss trying to make use of the single mould for all the versions. 3. The The exhaus
  18. Hello Everyone, The build is a MIG29SMT built into an Indian Air Force MIG29UPG taking off on a Wet Runway with Glowing Afterburners. The kit used is a Trumpeter MIG29SMT in 1/72 size. Most of the work done was on making the Flame look realistic enough. The flame is Clear Resin and is lit by using 2 White LEDs housed in the exhaust cans. The model is painted using the bare basic techniques of preshading and light coats of grey color to make this an IAF grey machine. Paints used were acrylics. This was a first trial run to make the Afterbu
  19. Thanks Guys. . . Glad you liked it . . . Do suggest some more diorama ideas with Aircraft. . . Would love to try my hand . . .
  20. If the hole gets big. . . Then put a dab of superglue On the locating pin of the pylon and let dry. . . Now the pylon becomes friction fit
  21. Pylons Friction Fit . . . Drill a smaller hole on the wing . . As in just big enough to take the locating pin of the pylon. . . . Works for all scales IMHO . .. πŸ™‚
  22. Hello Everyone. . . A Mig-29SMT from trumpeter in 1/72 scale. I had built this model a while back. Now I decided to put this on a base, thus the Snow Diorama. This was my first time doing a diorama, its a small one where I just had to build a Base and merely modifying the MIG I built. The modifications are : 1. Missile covers done by Paper. For the R27s and the RVVs, the paper was rolled into a cone and superglued to the missile. Thereafter it was sanded to the desired shape. For the R73s a small square was cut and just pushed on the Nose of the missile giving t
  23. Hello Everyone, The Modelsvit Sukhoi 7 BMK Of the Indian Air Force No32 Sqn wearing the Striking Tigershark Scheme. The kit is built OOB. The Yellow nose was brush painted and the kit decals were used. Paints used are locally available acrylics. The kit doesn't have part numbers on the sprue so you will have to refer the kit instructions for the part numbers - a bit annoying if you are new to this kit. Also all the parts have stubby cut points on the sprue and no pins to align the parts together, eg the droptanks. The ejection seat needs to be sanded from the bottom quite heavily a
