  1. yes, 2 metres....big but really funny to build I thougt that epoxy resin is expensive, no? As the ship will never go in water I wonder if a good thick varnish could do the job, just to seal the putty and make a good protection? Which one?
  2. Hi, I am building an aircraft carrier diorama, in fact I build the hole carrier in 1/144. I build the hull with balsa and put a coat of dry wall putty on it and sand it after. I would like to apply something to seal the putty and making the hull became harder. I don't think that any varnish will be hard enough? Someone told me to use resin, what kind? It is expensive? Another idea was the mutt plodge, it is good? Thanks
  3. You are right, I think I will paint it flat
  4. Hi Guys, I did some test with Krylon texture paint. Really hard to get the same texture on all the surface, sometimes I get some area with a more glossy look...but it should works. I will have to add a mat coat after. I will keep trying to get a uniform nonskid look.... Pat
  5. Ok, Thanks to everyone!!
  6. What is the real name and brand of those sand texture paints?
  7. Thank guys, I first thought at the sandpaper idea but my problem is that I build a complete 1/144 carrier so I will need to glue a lot of sand paper sheet and we can not fill the gap between each paper sheet. I prefer your idea of texture paint, I thing it will be nice in 1/144? Patrick
  8. Hi everyone, I would like to add a nonskid texture to a sheet of styrene that will act as a carrier deck section. Do you have a trick to do that? Pat
  9. Look carefully at the side of the jet, you can see the Quebec City logo, the sailboat and some blue stripes that represent the Quebec City 400th anniversary in 2008.... Pat
  10. Hi everyone, I am building a 1/144 aircraft carrier. I would like to build it as the CVN-69 with carrier air wing 7 on it . I need decals for VFA-143 (12 aircraft), VFA-103 (12 aircraft), VFA-83 (10 aircraft), VFA-131 (10 aircraft), VAQ-140 (4), VAW-125 (4), HS-5 (5 for now) and no C-2 decals cause I can't find any kit in 1/144. I don't think that any complete CAW decals set exist in 1/144, if yes, where? If not, I will have to print my own decals or maybe someone could do this for me or has already this set printed? If I have to print them here, where should I find the graphic to print?
  11. That's exactly what I'm looking for, thanks!!
  12. All is in the topic title...I am looking for some EA-6 prowler low-viz decals in 1/72 but the only sheet I find are the superscale one with vmaq1 2 and 3 ....do exist any other decals sheet for the Prowler in 72?
  13. Joe, Yes that's what I want to say, they only include 1 tank (the centerline) , you're right , it's a drop tank. Do you know if we could fine some aftermarket drop tank for the 1/48 F/A-18F? Patrick
  14. lol, no I want the revell kit but I need drop tank...I don't understand why Revell never include the drop tank....
  15. Both kit contains only 1 centerline fuel tank, no drop tank ?
