  1. If you are like me, a visual learner who works better with a demo, I highly recommend these DVDs: http://www.masterclassmodels.com/ They are excellent...as if you are sitting at the bench next to Mr. Werner. Yes, he demos on a Bf-109, but the techiques's are valid (IMHO) to all builds. These DVDs helped my building a lot. For me, it's one thing to read about filling seams or pre-shading, but it was another to see it done. It really helped to see it to have it finally click. I had a number of "Oh...that's what they meant." moments. I'd recommed Volume 1 (over 3 hours, I believe) to star
  2. That's my understanding. I bought a few bottles from Sprue Brothers to try them out, but I've been using Tamiya Acrylics as much as I can now that I am running out of Gunze acrylics. Can't beat the quick clean up of acrylics. Brian
  3. I agree, however, I know I'll be pick up a couple of these. IMHO, can't have enough F-16 kits. Brian
  4. IN! Love the look of the 2-seat F-16. Brian
  5. I'm in for a couple. My time behind the work bench has been pretty minimal over the past few months, but I've been feeling the burn to get building. Maybe it's the change in the seasons, but this annoucement has added fuel to the fire. Brian
  6. My thoughts exactly! I would love to see a Super Hornet in 1:32. :D Brian
  7. Inspiring! Can't wait to see the in-progress in the DVD! Any time frame on its release? Around Nationals? Take Care. Brian
  8. You can count me in for some covers. With all the decal options out there, I expect to have a big stack of F-16 kits to build. :P Brian
  9. Nice! One more F-16 for my stash! I really want to do a Thunderbird Jet (#5), but the thought of painting all that white scares me away. I'll get brave enough to do it one day. If anyone who has built one has any advice, please pass it along. ^_^ Brian
  10. I have used the Tamiya thinner on both Polyscale and MM Acrylics. I was having the same clogging problems, but the Tamiya thinner helped alot. A quick flick of the trigger between parts seemed to clear any clogs I had. I also use the Tamiya thinner when I use Gunze acrylics, works like a charm for me. I need to try the xtracrylics, I need to find a replacement for the Gunze since they are getting harder to find. Brian
  11. I may be way off here, but I was going to use MM Copper, then put a flat coat on it. Looking at Jake's book, to my eye, this looked like a pretty close match. Again, I may be way off... (This is on the GBU-12s that come in the Tamiya Blk 25/32 Viper.) Brian
  12. I would love a Tamiya F-4.... But the thought of a new tool 1:48 F-14 with the quality of the new F-16 kits makes me drool.... Of course that same quality with an A-6/EA-6B would be pretty sweet, too. Brian
  13. Wow! Very nice! Yup, SWMBO is not going to like this one bit. Brian :D
  14. Well, if you're going to copy something, might as well copy the best (arguably). I'm excited, between this and the new tamiya kit, looks like I'm buying more F-16 kits (I'm sure SWMBO will be happy to hear that. :) ) Brian
  15. I've been in one since April. One day everything is going along fine, then the next thing I knew, I hadn't touched anything for weeks, then months. I guess it's because things have been busy a work, and I have to admit it, my Xbox 360 and PS3 played a major part in it. too many great games to play. However, a week or so ago I all of a sudden got the itch back. I haven't put glue or paint to anything yet, but my visits to ARC have now become daily again, and seeing everyone's great work here has helped push me to "schedule" sometime this weekend for some building. If all goes well, I'll
