  1. Greg, that's just not right! :)
  2. Thanks for that link, TP2. I didn't know TxANG ever used two-seat Mustangs. Okay, maybe I hate you; now I will have to hurt myself trying to create a TF-51 for my Planes of Texas collection.
  3. I have no ready evidence for this but my impression is that primarily the fuselage shows the most flex. You'll see this in lots of B-24 and B-52 photos. Granted, this flexure is different from the "oil can" effect you'll see around older riveted wings from the Thirties.
  4. Christmas in September! A box from Dave Roof with a 1:32 Tornado IDS, the new Revell F/A-18E and some Black Box GBUs in 1:32. Plus, two boxes of books from Richard Maher in Canada. Last, but best, was my Summers at Duxford from Wade Meyers
  5. Somebody else does B-25 flying surfaces. I want to say Cutting Edge or Verlinden.
  6. Erm, premature ejection. Don't pay me no nevermind.
  7. It's been a long time since there was a direct-drive prop plane (excepting civil aviation), so prop tip speed is a non-issue. Adjust the gear ratio et voilà , subsonic tips.
  8. Don't forge aspect ratio. Many narrow blades will be more "efficient" than fewer wide blades. I suspect that overall weight remains roughly constant as blade count goes up if aspect ratio also goes up. That said, cost considerations probably favor fewer blades.
  9. Copy the URL into your browser's address box.
  10. If one learns to fly aircraft using their left hand for throttle and right hand for attitude, their brains will never "know" otherwise. Take a left-handed kid and teach him/her to bat as a righty and he'll do fine as long as he never gets the opportunity to bat lefty. It will be "natural" to bat righty.
  11. I don't see any Phantoms in this thread. You should rename it.
  12. You didn't read the part where I said photos are in the latest Wings/Airpower magazine?
  13. As I replied to General Greivous, check the Star Trek forum on starshipmodeler.com
  14. The past two issues of Wings/Airpower have had 50th Anniversay articles on the U-2. Several photos in the most recent issue on the U-2 carrier ops. Nothing mentioned beyond carqual, though.
  15. If you're wondering about light kits, you need to visit starshipmodeler.com You'll be shocked at the price, though.
  16. Czech Model F3D Skynight, another 1:48 Viggie and a 1:48 Marauder. Thanks, Sprue Brothers!
  17. Hasegawa wheel wells are too shallow. There are a few other pecadillos with the Has kit that I don't recall at this time but can be found using the search engine on this board. The recent molding from Tamiya changed the sprue point on the canopy to prevent unhappy modellers.
  18. Boy, oh boy, that is SOOOOOOO tempting...
  19. Add "Lodela" to your search. You might snag a few more auctions.
  20. My Meteor order! Got a lovely set of 1:32 Corsair Pynup decals, Cutting Edge 1:32 F-16 ADF tail conversion and wicked nice Paragon S-3 slats and flaps set. Sadly, I've placed three different orders with them for 1:48 P-38F/G/H decals over the past two years and every one has been cancelled, including this one. What gives?
  21. Looks like the NASA shelter at Ellington. Should be a bunch of T-38s around, though.
  22. I got a bunch of Waldron stuff from Roll Models. Except the punches, I got those direct.
  23. I can't vouch for quality, but Rutman makes a Corsair 'pit. I want to say Lonestar also makes one, too, but am unsure. Just fire up your browser and Google "corsair resin cockpit".
  24. If it weren't for the size of the missing tile, it could almost be classified a camera defect. Sure a lot of missing pixels!
