  1. Thanks a lot for all the pictures and information Janissary. Looks like they are doing their homework. These kits may end up being the best Phantoms ever. Best regards, Jorge.
  2. Hi Don, I stand corrected! Didn't know those tanks actually existed. A google search proved they actually did: Guess I was used to the ones provided in the Hasegawa 1/72 kit, which I think represent Aero 1Cs, like in this pic (or am I wrong here too?): Apologies for the confusion! Jorge.
  3. The Kittyhawk 1/48 F9F Cougars have them, but are unfortunately not accurate as they have a cylindrical center section. Jorge.
  4. Found the drawing too: From this document: http://es.scribd.com/doc/164334848/Advanced-Super-Hornet-Media-Brief Jorge.
  5. Here's one: found here: http://aeroexperience.blogspot.com.ar/2013/08/boeing-demonstrates-advanced-super.html I couldn't find one that includes the drawing though, if that is what you was specifically looking for. If you conduct a google search for pics, you will find plenty more: https://www.google.com.ar/search?q=super+hornet+conformal+fuel+tank&safe=off&rlz=1C1CHII_esAR395AR395&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=562&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=IYOWVeXpKcOoNt6tndAH&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ HTH, Jorge.
  6. Check the last post in this thread: http://www.network54.com/Forum/624633/thread/1348024607/F-15++600+gal.+fuel+tank++dimensions
  7. I have a Fujimi F-4E and it has them (incorrectly!) included. Probably most Fujimi Phantoms have them too, although they are not as good as those from Hypersonic. HTH, Jorge.
  8. Great find polar bear. Many thanks! This is the direct link for the large pic: http://www.airfighters.com/photo/49688/L/USA-Air-Force/McDonnell-Douglas-F-15A-Eagle/73-0100/ Jorge.
  9. Terrific Jim! Great pictures. The shape is simpler than I had thought. Most appreciated, Jorge.
  10. It sure helps Jim! 73-100 with its yellow bands is on the way then. Search for decals has already started. I am using a Tamiya kit and things are going extremely well so far. Many thanks! Jorge.
  11. Thanks ikar, being a near perfect profile, the picture is very useful. Andre, I'll see if I can come across that book. Cheers guys, Jorge.
  12. Thanks for the pics Hajo L. Those were practice bomb carriers that they used, but could someone confirm the designation? Jorge.
  13. Thanks for the reply, although the news are what I was fearing to hear. :( Guess we'll have to either wait, or consider the scratchbuild option. Nice research on your build. How are you planning to build the ADSID sensors and their carrier? Best regards, Jorge.
  14. Wonder if somebody has some good pictures of the strake the very early F-15s had on the airbrakes. I would like to know exactly where it starts and finishes and how thick it actually was. I am considering finishing a kit in the early markings so anything you may have would be most welcome. The search function lead to some pictures By David F. Brown on the F-15 thread in Research Corner, but they are now gone. TIA and best regards, Jorge.
  15. A friend wants to build those two variants. I handed him over my Falcon conversion for the AP-2H and we are looking for a C-Scale OP-2E set. The thing is that the Falcon conversion is very basic and the C-Scale one is hard to find and reaches ridiculous prices on eBay if you can find one there. Was wondering if somebody knows of other sets for those two Neptune variants that are either more comprehensive, or currently available or being sold at a sensible (logical!) price. TIA and best regards, Jorge.
  16. Jennings, the magazine was actually Scale Aircraft Modelling (edit: I meant SCALE AIRCRAFT MODELER). It was a three-part article. I have already found the first two, which cover the T-33/Strikemaster and F-86F/F-5B. I keep searching but am not really sure I have the issue with the final installment. Will scan them and send them to you. Please have a little patience as my internet connection at home is down right now. Jorge.
  17. Another one I forgot to publish, from a series of pictures from Vietnam. Don't have any additional details: Jorge.

  19. Many thanks all for the replies. Wish you had seen the thread I started in 2013, where only Jennings happened to contribute with his knowledge: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=262172&st=0&p=2486625&hl=insignia%20blue&fromsearch=1entry2486625 Will take some time for me to analize and incorporate all your awesome contributions, but I think I understand things better already. Best regards, Jorge.
  20. Hi Vince, save for some mild responses I have had in the past while asking about the subject, the only person that ever told me so enfatically that the titles were insignia blue is KursadA in post #4 of this thread. I had not seen posts #5 and #6 because they were being posted while I was writing my reply. I started purchasing decals in the eighties and the titles in them were always black. I never saw anybody ever complaining about that. Since a few years back, several manufacturers started printing the titles in insignia blue, which I found odd as looking at pictures I was not able to conf
  21. KursadA, I am sorry my post has irritated you that much. As I said, I can only do my "research" from published material, and have been looking at the subject for many years now, with the only intention of finding out what the actual color used was, on which specific aircraft and, if applicable, on which period. There are some good quality period pictures out there which show the color used was (at least in some instances) black, including F-100s, F-104s, early grey/white F-4s, late ADC Grey F-4s, and F-101s to mane a few. I understand pictures are not the best tool to research such matters
  22. I am not sure this sheet is of any use. I have seen many manufacturers as of late providing titles in insignia blue, but pictures seem to contradict what T.O. 1-1-4 says, if that is what they used as their "research". Quote from Rocketeer: "Our esearch revealed that “USAF” “U. S. AIR FORCE” signs on US Air Force’s aircraft surface were in Insignia Blue (FS15044), not in black as it commonly recognized." I disagree with that. I can only base my own "rearch" on published pictures, but as hard as I have tried over the years, I have never been able to find any aircraft where those titles could
  23. Richard, the best 1/72 F-4E on the market is the Hasegawa kit. You should just choose a boxing with the hard wing. Both the Fujimi and Revell F-4Es have issues, although I must admit they build into nice models. If you build Spunky VI, try to find pictures of it. I suspect the artwork was on the left intake only. HTH, Jorge.
  24. STOP THE PRESS! I can´t believe it! This was published by KINETIC in their facebook page a short while ago:
  25. I am shocked! If it wasn't for you I would have not noticed this! Saw the pics but didn't even bother opening them thinking it was a 1/48 model! Looks good, but seems they didn't care ruinig the wheel wells with some large and overdone attachment points for the landing gear doors to comply with that silly "SNAP" policy! Will refrain from further comment until better quality, close up pics, are available. I hope it will at least be cheap and readily available to make multiples out of it. And I hope they also produce the C/D and E soon. Jorge.
