  1. A friend of mine has a project underway and needs 10 of the old Revell 1/542 Midway kits. If anyone has any please let me know. Its the vintage Revell kit produced between 1956 and last produced in 1974 Thanks
  2. I have just ordered a second Airfix 1/24 Mosquito to be built as the night fighter version. I know the hubs are wrong but i was wondering about the ariels on the tailplanes? I cant find any pics with these fitted. Were they fitted?
  3. Thanks Edgar . thats what i thought. Most of the models and Tamiyas instructions say green. Copper looks much better!
  4. Most of the photos i have seen of the coolant pipes etc on the spitfire are copper colour. Is this just because they are restorations or would the ones in service have copper colour or green? Thanks
  5. Part built FM Falcon in 1.72. More details here http://www.therpf.com/f11/finemolds-1-72-m...030/index2.html Im based in the UK and looking for £150 plus postage. Will post anywhere at cost.
  6. Parts still sealed in bags. This is the checker cowl boxing. £65 plus postage.
  7. Heres the latest. I spent the odd hour adding parts while i was away along with filling the sink mark around the edge. The ntches have also been finished now too. Heres the phots of the parts added. Theres lots of TINY parts in this kit! I thought it may be worth adding this photo of the rear deck before anything is added. Look at all of those holes for parts top be added!
  8. I recently bought these but no longer need them. As new and untouched £23 posted
  9. I am currently building 2 Tamiya F-4Js. This one is my own , the other one is a commission build for a friend and will be the stars and stripes bicentennial one. Im still not sure on the markings for this one. Im leaning towards the Shamrocks , but i also like the Vigilantes and Jolly Rogers versions. I started with the intakes on this one. With alot of patience and time they can be made seamless. You have to cut out the trunking from the fuselage and them fix it all together and fill it. If you then screw the trunking to the fuselage , you can tape the outer intakes to the fuselage and tack
  10. One of the best mods that can be made to this kit is to cut out the notches in the armour. Takes a little bit of time but its well worth it. Here it is before And after The undercarriage can be posed both up and down. Heres the built undercarriage legs Im still not sure on how im going to proceed. I was going to make 3 switches to turn on the cockpit , engine and gunwell/landing lights. I may just use 1 switch to put them all on at once. Heres some of the miscellanious parts that i have built too.
  11. I got them from ebay. Im in the UK but im sure you could find them on ebay.com. They look like normal LEDs but they have a flat lense.
  12. I used the cheap fibre optic plant ornaments and chop off the fibres. They are not great quality but they do the job. The cockpit is now finished and some exterior detail added. I also added Leia to the cockpit. The figures look better in real life btw. Its a nice break after working on the star destroyer.
  13. The cockpit is nearly finished, I just need to add Leia. Im pleased with the results. One thing is for sure , im sold on the wide angle LEDs. I painted the ends of the fibre optics with glass paint. Much better than having 3 different colour LEDs. I suppose you want to see it with the lights on? Oh OK then!
  14. Well i really never thought that i would be building another one of these. These kits are so rare and expensive nowadays. Luckily i am thanks to Ian at Heritage. I am going to be lighting this and basically trying to make it the best one i have built so far. I already have a built one at my Parents house in Devon so this one will be for my home. I have started with the engine lights. Ive tried many ways of lighting this in the past but none ever really worked that great. Normal LEDs give hot spots of lights. I need a solid glow. I have also used Electroluminescent sheet which worked well bu
  15. Finished these off today just in time for collection by the new owner. Im actually quite glad to see the back of the 747 as it takes up so much space. I love the Finemolds kits though , i could have quite happily kept those. Interestingly all these kits are 1/72.
  16. Its been a very long slog with lots of scratchbuilding. The 747 is the 1/72 AIM Transport wings kit , the shuttle is the Revell issue fitted with realspace decals and tile decals. Still a little more to do yet but its so close to going off to its new home. Excuse the background , its our dining room but it gives a good rear view in the mirror! Now its not 100% accurate is the customer didnt want the rear cone fitted to the shuttle , and the rear mounts were a compromise between scale and strength.
  17. It should be left to RIP. I loved the show when i first saw it. I had just given up motorcycling , Long way round was on as well as American chopper. It was a nice link back to the bikes. It used to be amusing and i loved following the builds. As the show got more popular and they got more money , the show got too silly. I watched the last series , but i didnt enjoy it , it was only out of curiosity. I spent the whole time waiting for something good to happen. I personally think that that show turned to the naff side when Vinnie left. I thought there was gonna be a Cody and Vinnie V force c
  18. I was merrily driving along the M-11 today just passing Duxford. As i came over the hill i saw 2 low loaders. One contained the fuselage of the Thunderchief and the other contained the wings and tailplane. Looked like a big Trumpeter kit. Bloomin big plane it is too. Anyone know where its going?
  19. Heres the completed tub. On to the wheel well next.
