  1. I do have pictures of early F-16 with fully loaded MERs on Stations 4 and 6 and TERs on 3 and 7, but it seems this was only done for testing and never used operationally. I have Revell and ARII F-16 kits that have come with MERs as well Brian
  2. Well, it will in the sense that you want to make finer and finer scratches to take out the larger ones. I use fine and superfine grades of sandpaper (testors or squadron), then I polish with Blue Magic metal polish (I've also used toothpaste for this). Use a clean cotton cloth such as a T-shirt to do a final buffing on it. You can finish it off with a coat of Future, and the canopy will look better than it originally was.
  3. I believe we get to keep our Block 25s here in Minnesota too. Brian
  4. No, the B-1 did not fly sorties during Gulf War I. I believe they were still on nuclear alert, as the B-2 was not yet in the inventory. Brian
  5. Matt, I agree completely about the decal sheet. I have so many aggressor projects in the planning, for most of them, I'm just missing the bort numbers. Brian
  6. Does anyone know what color Japanese live missiles are. I'm arming my F-2 with AAM-3s and Sparrows. I've seen pictures with a light blue color, but I'm not if they, like the US, painted training missilies blue. Thanks for any info, Brian
  7. VFC-13 has 23 f-5s which would leave 11 at Fallon. I believe they are still purchasing F-5Ns, so perhaps they could add one aircraft to have two detachments of 12. Brian
  8. I was looking for info on the current F-16A fleet, but I found it on F-16.net. I'd still like to know what happened to the photos on tailslides though. Thanks, Brian
  9. Does anyone know what happened to tailslides.co.uk? I'm looking for info (Serial #s, etc) on the Navy F-16s. Thanks, Brian
  10. The Navy and Marines both have one squadron. VFMT-401 has 12 (11 E and 1 F model). VFC-13 in the Navy has 23 aircraft (10 E, 3 F and the rest N models which are replacing the E). Brian
  11. I've had this problem too, On my last Revell/Monogram one I used the Eduard photo-etch for the front instrument panel, this left decals for the side panels, but it was a start. For my future R-M and Academy Vipers I have made resin copies of the Hasegawa panels, and I have some Black Box resin kits for my special ones, like my upcoming MN ANG one. Brian
  12. Lifecolor makes 35450, I never got a model master color to match up very well, and xtracolor makes 35190. Brian
  13. When I started my current production line I was worried about an Amraam shortage, and I was very surprised that there wasn't any in the hasegawa weapons sets, unlike 1/72. I ended buying abut 20 hasegawa Vipers, most of which had 4 missiles, and I bought 2 of the SOl F-18 sets which had 6 each, so hopefully I'll have more than enough. Brian
  14. Tonight, I took down an F-15E off the shelf to clean it after about a year. I rinsed it with some water and then dried it. I then noticed that white stains had formed around the decals and in other places as well. Does anyone have any theories about what happened? I tried washing the stains with soap and then with windex with no results. The model was painted with model master paints and clear coated with Acryl flat. I suspect something happened to the clear coat. Thanks for any answers
