  1. Hi, I want them all, both second and first set. Have you any timescale in mind for the release date (I know the Meng kit is not even out yet!!) ;^D) Cheers Eric B.
  2. Hello all, I sincerely think the same : although we've been blessed with beautiful 1/72nd scale aircraft models recently (think F-102 by Meng themselves, Wolfpack-D T-2C, Tamiya F-16C, Fine Molds F-14D, Hasegawa Su-33/35, Zvezda Su-27 to name jet models only) I rate the new Meng F-106 over these kits in details, sharpness, finesse, engineering. I obviously cannot express myself on accuracy or ease of building and I am not a professionnal but in my eyes this kit sets a new standard. I looks like a new step has been made in model technology/engineering. It makes me wonder what can Meng do
  3. Wow, Received my copy along some other books from Eagleaviation : suffice to say I now plan to complete my Eagle aviation books collection. All my books are well printed and feature sharp color photographs of good size. The Viper book itself completes what has been (very well)published before providind modellers with great detail pictures in that the Eagle Aviation book deals with later Viper versions. Of course being dedicated to HAF Vipers it doesn't cover all later export versions but it's a very useful book. I will definately use it on my modelling projects. Regards. Eric B.
  4. Hi, I would have asked the same question, hoping. IIRC at the time of the shut down there were talks about an S-3B Viking update set in 1/72nd scale. By the way welcome back in trade. Cheers Eric B.
  5. Wow, I'll be in for the F-8 1/72nd scale sheet. That's a must!! Eric B.
  6. Hello, Hi Pep yes I am going the Sufa route for my RSAF 52+ as I have the Hasegawa Sufa boxing in my stash. Mark information confirms Sufa is the closest F-16 version to a RSAF advances F-16D Bl.52+ And Mark, thank you again for your kind information. I am a decal nut and I did not know about this brand. What are they like design, decal film and printing quality wise? I might well buy one each of their already available references and same for future decals. (Edit : Mark - information found about decals quality. I will get myself their A-4, F-15, F-16 decals and check for futures releases
  7. Hi Andre, Thank you. Scale Nutz sheets seem to be the Block 52 aircraft as operated by 140 and 143 Squadrons in Singapore and 425th FS at Luke AFB as Mark described above, not the Block 52+ that are F-16I Sufa similar. Starting from a Hasegawa Sufa model and willing to build a very different F-16 with CFTs I think I definately need either the Vivacious Viper sheet or the IsraDecal sheet. I'll look out for these ones. Thank you all for your precious help. Regards. Eric
  8. HI, Wow, thank you. The problem of having collecting all those decals sheets along the years : I have to check but I might well have these decals in my stash. In that case I was not even aware there were RSAF decals included. I'll search my decals first or will try I get one set online. I would then be to start my project. Thank you Hoops and Mark for your precious help. Eric B.
  9. Hi all Thank you Mark That's definately the 52+ I had in mind and yes it helps a lot. First because it helps me to differ both RSAF F-16 versions, second because it helps me to link RSAF F-16D Bl52+ with the appearance of the F-16I. More over your 52+ photos seem to give me a conformation that the small airscoops/air intakes (air conditiong?) between lower front fuselage and engine air intake ramp are deleted on this version. I would there fore have to alter the Hasegawa model in this area. By the way, if you allow me a question : are decals available for this version? I remember I ha
  10. Hi all, I have relatively good documentation on F-16 versions until block 40-42 aircraft but find it difficult to get precise information over these marks. I am seeking information before starting a new F-16 project in 1/72nd scale. My aim is to build an advanced F-16C/D block 52 aircraft of the RSAF (Singapore). Am I right thinking that the best is to start from a F-16I (Sufa?) for that version? I have a Hasegawa 1/72nd scale F-16I in my stash (plus some parts to improve cockpit and wheel wells). Is it really the best starting point? What are the detail differences between both vers
  11. Hi Polar Bear, Fantastic F-16 here, beautiful build and very useful and well illustrated step to step information on how to.. Man, should I add I like you style after I checked your other postings here on ARC. You are what I call a serious modeler Congratulations. Regards Eric B.
  12. Hi Apparently third and final part has been released today (or very recently) thus completing the Fine Molds/Model Graphix F-14D kit in 1/72nd scale. I now wonder if they will release other Tomcat versions. Anders, yes you're right I also was surprised with the blank rims for the nose wheels in relation with the overall quality of the kit. I don't really mind as I also have plenty of spares from various origins. Now I can order final parts Eric B.
  13. Hello I really feel sadness today. Of course I did not know him personnaly but everytime I read about him he's described as a really talented driver and a very good polite young person. He's the first formula one driver killed after a race accident since Ayrton Senna and as Senna, he's been killed in what would have looked like a highly survivable accident had not poor circumstances struck. In effect this changes nothing but makes me feel even sadder that both were so unlucky.. RIP Jules #17 Eric B.
  14. Wow, Great, I share that with tou. A dark blue Renault 4 TL with a sunroof is the first car I bought with my own earned money back in 1987. It was second hand, i was far for new back then, had already suffered from corrosion (it was a salty environment), and I bought it around what would be 1000 euros today I guess. I bought it just for my 2 month summer holidays (I still was a student) and I remember my mates more or less kept laughing at me - they were still using their more elaborate daddy's cars. I myself had a deep feeling of independance and freedom and later, sunroof, the cool a
  15. Hi All Part two of model Graphic Magasine + FM F-14D parts are out (released) today. I Received a message note to thank me for payment to HLJ. When checeked it was for second set of parts. Cheers Eric B.
  16. Hi all Wishing you success for this testing and welcome to a new comer in 1/72nd scale decals!! Same here 100% - 2 sheets and full support for 1/72nd scale decal sheet releases.. Eric B.
  17. Hi Girolamo, Extremelly nice build you have here, well detailed, well painted, well weathered.. Congratulation, it's a pleasure to the eyes.. Eric B.
  18. Hello To add to the list I'd probably call "Days of glory" ("Indigenes" in original french title)a good movie. I deals with the story of North african soldiers in the later part of the war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_of_Glory_%282006_film%29 Cheers Eric B.
  19. Hi, Not sure I thoroughly understand you question but... 1/front fuselage halves were thinned a bit from the inside ( not that much though) 2/resin sidewalls were then cemented inside fuselage halves after a dryfit for testing 3/when ready all parts ie front fuselage parts (plus sidewalls already in place) and main cockpit were glued together.. I admit I was a bit surprised regarding my previous experiences.. I love the detail of these Aires cockpits but they are a pain to prepare for fitting : this time less than usual.. Cheers Eric B.
  20. HI, I am currently building a Fujimi A-4E and I just closed forward fuselage last week.. Aires resin inclusion is not that bad by the way. I mean I have seen worse : Harrier II for Hasegawa , F-16 for Hasegawa, F-100 for Esci come to mind. I was fearing worse for the A-4 as it's such a tiny machine. Unless I am building experience there of course. Of course there was a bit of filing, sanding, cutting resin chips but all went quite well. Cheers Eric B.
  21. Wow, Very nice model. Congratulations.. Eric B.
  22. Hello, Extremelly nice build with quite unusual camo on an "in action" F-18. I love your model.. I have not built an Academy F-18 yet although I have 4 in my stash. I am on par with you with disappointment about their landing gears.. Thank you for your information : I am myself currently collecting any Italeri F-18E, F-18C or Hasegawa F-18C main landing gear I can find in my spare parts box..so this is a confirmation I am on the right path.. Cheers Eric B.
  23. Hi, I guess it should be close to Hasegawa's F-15E (recessed lines) prior to updating.. One reference is K27 (0427) and same kit has been released by Revell (I don't believe Revell also reboxed newer Hasegawa F-15E upgraded model). 86-183 decals are included in original K27 Hasegawa boxing. Eric B.
  24. Hi, Are you working on the Hasegawa 1/72nd scale kit. If so, yes that is a one of the shortcomings of their kit, though all my Harriers IIs where built from that model... Note : Aires/quickboost have released a 1/72nd scale Harrier II airbrake in resin form. Please allow me a link to may Hasegawa Harriers iis here on ARC - You can se the USMC lachine airbrake deployed (same but not showing beneath the RAF aircraft) http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=193792&st=0&p=1815830&hl=harrier&fromsearch=1entry1815830 Until now I am been able to find Harr
  25. Hello, Not sure but if I remember correctly airbrakes are somehow linked with landing gears on Harriers. They should be deployed whenever landing gears are down. Cheers Eric B.
