10/9/2005 Here she be! I sprayed on the dullcote this morning, and finnished it up earlier this evening. The port side landing gear spindle broke off while I was working with it and fell prey to the carpet monster. This part I scratchbuilt from styrene rod stock. I left out the pilot, so it is up for anyone who wants it. Pic #1, the head on shot:

Thanks. This evening, I got the canopy painted, the plane Futured, and the decals on. The decals were pretty good, justy some of the glue formed a thick film when it got in the water. I got that off by running the decal through the water bowl. Up next:, dullcote and final parts.

Here is the bottom. The box called for half-and-half black and sky. Though a first for me, I find it interesting and different.

Lookin good there. More progress: I got most of the moderl painted today. I still need to do the canopy. It is all brush-painted with Polly Scale acrylics.

Here is is closed up, and the wings attached. The enging cowling has since been put on, and I'm working on sanding filler around the wing roots.

Hey Andy, Those pictures would be cool to see. I made some additional progress by painting the insides and closing up the fuselage, and major assemblies.

Here's the sprue shot.

I secured this kit from e-bay a couple of months ago for this group build. Although it comes in the back box, it still has the 2-colored sprues. I plan to go by the instructions and leave out the airbrush. When I get started, it should be a fun care free build. Box:

Hello, Ever since I've been back into modeling aircraft, I have been attaching all surfaces(tail) then painting the model. However, lately, I've been noticing builds in the forums where the person building will do all of the main assembly and not attach the tail surfaces (horizontal stabilizers). The surfaces and the rest of the model are painted separate and attached afterwards. Phantom Phixer's F-4 and a 109 in the Battle of Brittain Group build were done this way. In both cases, I saw where it would be easier, and I plan to try it in my next build. Which method would be the be

Buddy, you are not part of the group build......you are the group build! :) Have fun, and I look forward to seeing your work.

Hello, I like to participate in this build with a first release Monogram He-111 Bomber: I got this kit new 10 years ago from my grandmother. I started building on it back then, but ended up setting it aside. Recently, I got it back out and stripped off the old paint with EZ OFF. Then, I started by painting the main parts and interior with plans to join them and fix the seams and touching up. Now, however, I ordered some Superscale decals with intentions of building it up using all of what I learned here. I am also armed with Squadrons "Heinkel HE-111 In Action" book. This is

Hello, At the end of the build, it looks like I crached into the stern instead of catching the wire. Anyway, I managed to get the Rufe complete. Anyway, I got the Hasegawa Rufe complete. Along with drooping the elevators, I also scratchbuilt a set of flaps (which I'm proud of) and lowered them. I used a photo of a flap on a restored zero as a guide. An invisible Thread antenna finnished it off. Enjoy.

Here is a photo of the Rufe after the fuse was closed and wings attached: Finally, here it is currently: the main float was sprayed in Mr Surfacer 500. I found it to be grainny so it was wet-sanded smooth. I'm still working on masking the canopy.

I'm still kicking. Like I mentioned before, I got some scratchbuilt detail in the cockpit and got the fuselage closed up: Due to time, I mostly added ribbing to the sidewalls. however, there are photo-etched seatbelts and rudder pedals inside. here is another view of the cockpit: I appologise for the fuzzy quality.

Thanks guys. I have an update. I got the cockpit sidewalls scratchbuilt. They are not as detailed as they should, but it is better than it was originally. Side ribs and one of the control boxes were installed. Apart from the deadline, not much will be seen anyway when the canopy is on. Also, it was my first attemp at this sort of thing. I also glued the two fuselage halves together and removed the seams along with attaching the horizontal stabalizers. i still need to add the photo etch seatbelts to the seat before I can add the rest of the cockpit and wings. i will try to post some pi
