    I will. All in 1/48th, except for the Academy PBY-5 (I don't have it yet), which will be in 1/72. I already have two Accurate Miniatures/Academy SBD-3 and decals for Dick Best (the Academy kit has markings for this one) and Wade McClusky (using Starfighers decals), the Academy (Accurate Miniatures) SBD-2 which I'll try to convert to Lofton Henderson's aircraft. I just need to change the markings. Also, an SB2U-3 from Academy (Richard Fleming's markings). Yesterday, I received Eduard's new F4F-3/4 "Midway" boxing and I'm waiting for Special Hobby's F2A-3 Buffalo to arrive.

    Okay, I have just received the book. If the book is right, some of the pilots on the Academy kit are not on the roster of the Japanese carriers during the Battle of Midway or, if they are, the rank is not the same (it's higher). I am now more convinved that Academy just copied the markings from Pearl Harbor. -- EDIT -- I had missed this before. Academy's kit provides markings for Fusata Iida. The thing is this pilot died during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

    Hi Benner, thanks for the information. The Academy kit indicates all markings were built by Mitsubishi, so I'll use AK Real Colors cockpit colour for that one (I also have the Nakajima cockpit colour). I think I'll stick to the kit markings and assume Academy did their homework and that aircraft markings (and pilots) didn't change much from late '41 to mid '42. I should receive the book "Shattered Sword" today and it might have some more information about the Zeros in the Battle of Midway (or so I hope).

    Hi, I just ordered the new Academy Zero in 1/48th. The box indicates "The Battle of Midway 80th anniversary" and I wanted to build a Zero during that battle. Comparing the markings in the Eduard kit (Tora! Tora! Tora! boxing) with the ones in the Academy, I realised Academy offers some of the same markings present it the Eduard kit. My question is: did Academy offer the kit as "Battle of Midway" but included markings from the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 or, as it is also possible, the aircraft maintained their markings and pilots from December '41 to June '42? You

    Hi guys, I'm planning to get an EA-18G in 1/72nd scale. A store nearby has both Hasegawa and Academy (HAS01568 and Academy 12560). The Hasegawa is 25 Euros, the Academy 36. As far as I know both kits are good but the Academy one won't let me have an open canopy without cutting the one-piece canopy. I'll be using the Furball "CVW-8 at war" decal sheet so the markings in the box are not important. Looking at the trees the Academy looks a bit better and also a simpler build, but most kits these days look very nice on the trees and when you start building them you find out it isn'

    I'm guessing they got the width of the base of the tail wrong. Another photo I got from Facebook even though this is the plain tail, not the ADF one. The ADF tail base should be the approx. the same width, I guess.

    I just checked the sprue. I used parts D82 and D83. Parts 17 and 18 are still on the sprue.

    My guess is they molded the front tail base (parts D29, D36, B2 and B4) with the correct (?) width for the Belgian and Norwegian F-16 tail (parts D10 and D11), not checking the width of the plain A and ADF tail bases. I could be wrong, but this is what it looks like to me right now.

    I used the ADF tail parts found on the B Sprue and parts D82 and D83 for the rear of the tail base.

    Yeah, the ADF tail on the kit seems to be too fat to me. I managed to get this photo from Facebook. Since some parts of the tail are shared, I'm wondering if the "non-dragchute" tails will be ok.

    Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to paint the panel and side consoles by hand. I don't understand why they provide decals for the C but not for the A. Was it on purpose, did they forget? Also, has anyone built the ADF tail? I need to check more photos, but the base of the ADF tail seems a little bit too wide, but I'm not sure. Here's a photo of the tail without the rudder. I couldn't find any good photos of this area so this could be right.

    Hi guys. Correct me if I'm wrong. The kit has no decals for the cockpit side consoles/panel, right? I read in a review the kit included them, but I can't find them in the decal sheet/instructions. TIA, Ricardo

    Hey Finn, I thought about it, but I'm guessing the jets carried fuel tanks under each wing. I'm not sure I can do the 5 JDAM configuration with the fuel tanks.

    Hi guys, I'm about to paint my GWH 1/72nd F-15E and already have the Two Bobs decals for it. The Two Bobs instructions mention several bombs and missiles that were used in these missions, but no specific load out possibilities. Can you guys help out? Also, are CFT side pylons (I don't know the station number for these) placed even when no bombs are carried on these pylons?

    Hi guys, I just got a Dora Wings Bf109A/B and I wanted to build it as an A model during the Spanish Civil War. The instructions call for "Silberweiss", but I'm not sure what this colour looked like or how to obtain it. I don't think it was just plain silver, according to some builds I've seen online. Would it look like the modern RAL 9006 (White Aluminium? Maybe a bit lighter. Any idea? TIA, Ricardo
