  1. So... after asking about MiG-29 decals in 1/72 scale, my wife gave me GWH MiG-29 Fulcrum (Late) for Christmas (1/48). Since I prefer to make a Fulcrum in the "real" Cold War times (before 1989), I was wondering if there are any decals for the MiG-29 that visited Finland in 1986 for this kit, for example. I alredy have the Begemot decals for the 1/72 Fulcrum and I don't want to make the same aircraft (85 GvIAP). Does anyone have any information if the Soviet MiG markings in the kit's decal sheet (Blue 91, Soviet Navy/Black Sea Fleet, 119th MIAD) are from the 1986-1988 period? I t
  2. I have, but I prefer jets in the 1985 - 1988 range. I believe those Linden Hill ones are from the early 90s.
  3. Hi Kotey, thanks for your reply. I understand that this means that to make that MiG-29 as it was in 1986, I just need to not add the Leopard badge. (BTW, I have just received your decals for the Su-34 in 1/48th and they look excellent.)
  4. Resurfacing this topic. I rechecked Begemot's decal sheet and, regarding 85 GVIAP in East Germany (scheme 9), the text says (I don't think there's a problem copying it): "85-th GuFR was rearmed from MiG-23M to MiG-29 in 1986, on all MiG-29 "Guardia" badge was placed on port side of fuselage at Lukhovitsy MiG production factory. In 1986 "excellent aircraft" badge (element 29 this decal sheet) was places on some aircrafts, including this aircraft. In 1991 on two MiG-29 (BuNo's 26 and 30), the badge of 85-th GuFR - jumping leopard was paced on port side of fuselage". Is
  5. Hi guys, I can't find decals for Trumpeter's 1/72nd MiG-29A. I want to build a Soviet Fulcrum in the 80s. I tried Scalemates and they say Begemot's sheet 72-032 has a Fulcrum in DDR in 1986. That would work for me, but checking Begemot's website, the decal sheet says it's from 1991. Since the soviets didn't use many "special" markings, I'm guessing the red stars in the kit and a bort number in the right colour will do also. What say you? Thanks in advance, Ricardo
  6. Well, it looks much better than the old Amodel kit. I haven't started it yet, but it looks simple and with a small parts count. I can't say anything about accuracy because I don't know much about the Fiddler. You can find here photos of the sprues and the manual.
  7. Hi guys, I have just received Trumpeter's new Tu-128 Fiddler in 1/72nd scale and, as usual, Trumpeter doesn't say much about colours and is even inconsistent in the manual. The cockpit should be painted in "Light Blue" (Mr. Color #20) and the control panels, the flight sticks and the seats in matt black. I know not much would be seen once the canopies are closed, but I'd like to get a good match. As for the wheel wells, Trumpeter says they're Silver in the manual, but in the painting guide, they indicate "Intermediate Blue (Gunze's H56/Mr. Color #72). The landing gear is a
  8. I got mine from a hobby shop in Spain and it includes only the exhausts in resin.
  9. Thanks for confirming. One day I hope I'll buy a kit that contains all the parts I need to build the particular version I want...
  10. Well, looking at the photos, it looks like it's a simple "drop-in" part, so I might as well start the build soon (I'm a slow builder).
  11. I guess I'll be waiting for this! 😄 Thanks for the update, Chris.
  12. I believe what Gabor is trying to say is that by releasing a "correction nose", the AM manufacturer is implying that something is wrong with the nose on the kit. If it is, then it would be good to know what's wrong with it, especially since he was involved in designing the kit. On the other hand, if the AM part just mimics the kit's nose, it might deceive the consumer into: (i) believing the GWH is wrong and therefore not buying it; or (ii) deceiving the consumer into thinking there is something wrong with the GWH, buying it and also spending money on an aftermarket part that was not needed
  13. The topic title says it all. Kittyhawk forgot to include the ECM pods on their Su-34, even though they seem to be omnipresent in all the photos and videos I've seen so far of them operating in Syria. Have the aftermarket guys come out with pods for this kit already
  14. Hi Matt, when you said the Akan colours were much closer, did you mean 035, 036 and 046 (whether acrylic or lacquer) or 167, 168 and 169?
  15. Thanks, Matt. Do you mean the Akan paints I have or the ones present in the set Mstor mentioned (46332)?
  16. The colours I have belong to that set 🙂
  17. Hi guys, I have just received the GWH's Su-35 and before "Black Friday" is over, I was thinking about getting the right paints I need for it. I ordered Ammo's paint set and that was a mistake, because the colours seem well off. I have a few of Akan paints from one of their Flanker sets, namely 73035, 73036 and 73046. Do any of you know if these colours are right for an Su-35 in Syria? I also thought about getting Mr. Paint colours, but I'm not sure which colours I should get for this one. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ricardo
  18. Disregard my last post. I just realised I misread the manual and painted the whole section in white when it was only the back part...
  19. Thanks for all the help. This is how far I got with the F-14. By the way, should this be white or in the fuselage colour?
  20. Thanks for the photo. The fuel tank pylons are clearly visible. From what I've seen, it won't be very hard to make the Tamiya ones look half decent.
  21. Thanks guys. I'll try to find some 1/48th fuel tank pylons or try to detail the Tamiya ones. The configuration you mentioned is interesting, especially for Fast Eagle 107. I have some photoetch tail stiffeners so it's still a possibility.
