  1. Hi Ray - the van is from the Hasegawa personnel set and the pick-ups are (my) copies of an old French resin kit I got thirty odd years ago - I think the manufacturer was called something like Maquette Dauze but I've never seen them since. However there is hope on the horizon !.... http://www.phantommodels.com/index.php?categoryID=556&category_slug=1-72models Cheers, Haydn.
  2. It's probably my ageing eyes but doesn't that tank have a more rounded shape than the original F-111 tanks carried by A-10s ?
  3. These P-13 Ramp Fire Fighting trucks are based on the Maquette Dauze Chevy pick up. The fire fighting equipment has been cobbled together from an N gauge railway oil tank, a torpedo from a Seaking kit and a couple of white metal hose reels from BW Models.... Cheers, Haydn.
  4. This little group is painted to look like the original toned scheme applied to vehicles and AGE during the sixties. I believe the colour was an olive drab, FS595A 34088 - I have used the Lifecolor acrylic paints equivalent UA222 here: Cheers, Haydn.
  5. My take on the colour scheme (in 1/72).... More info here... http://www.usaf-sig.org/Forum/index.php?topic=526.0 Cheers, Haydn.
  6. - that's a great idea. And add to that assorted AIM-9s with their seeker head covers cast in place. Haydn.
  7. Any chance of separate control surfaces for the Hasegawa F-117A ? Haydn.
  8. It's an RAF Germany HAS. We're hoping this company can be coaxed in producing a USAF TAB-VEE shelter (of any generation) - can anyone help out on details ? Cheers, Haydn.
  9. I thought I had just about finished this Trumpeter Hun (as a Misty FAC for our Recce theme) when I realised something was very wrong ! (Trumpeter at the front, Italeri behind.) The Trumpeter kit with the Italeri canopy in position.... The Trumpeter canopy which is way off shape at the back and which I planned to replace with a Rob Taurus vacform - I just hadn't realised why it was so misshapen !.... http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p276/mig23_photos/may05blogupdate/twoseathunfun_zpsfab60ce7.jpg[/img] (You may have to click on link above to get measurements) The Trumpeter kit has a

    Bobtail

Hi Armando - bad news for now I'm afraid. I went off to the website where I got the Bobtails so I could post the link here. Things have moved since I bought them but I emailed the producer to ask if they were still available and he responded very quickly.... "Hu Haydn, The simple answer is 'no'... However, the pattern had been passed on first to Aviation Workshop in the UK, but they went bust before re-releasing it and it is now I believe in the hands of another UK-based company, who was apparently close to re-issue it, but I haven't got anymore details I'm afraid..." If I find out the kit

    Bobtail

I'd be very interested ! Always looking for 1/72 USAF AGE and vehicles. I have these already..... Cheers, Haydn.
  14. I've collected some pictures and notes on USAF fuel trucks taken off various web sources and direct from a former Fuel Truck guy in the hope that one day models would be available ! Let me know your email address if you'd like a pdf copy. Cheers, Haydn.
  15. It's in the book review section, clink on the cover pic to get to the pdf.... http://usaf-sig.org/index.php/reviews/117-book-reviews/240-ltv-a-7dk-corsair-ii-the-sluf-in-usaf-and-usang-service Cheers, Haydn.
  16. I just don't get this being a faded paint although it does show up in some odd patches on certain aircraft ! Painted with Xtracolor FS34159 (which would have been the paint used on that B-52G)..... Cheers, Haydn.
  17. Thanks for the kind words on my efforts chaps. Do you think it's possible the Eglin bird had the new HG 5 paint sprayed over the original camo and that is what's causing it to look like two greys ? Cheers, Haydn.
  18. Thanks Eric ! (Don't forget to remove the ecm aerial at the base of the tail fin on yours !) I used Xtracolor enamels on mine, the dark grey FS36076 is Xtracolor X128. Cheers, Haydn.
  19. Many thanks to you guys for posting all these fantastic pics ! One day I intend to go back and correct the most annoying part of my '747'.... Cheers, Haydn.
  20. Wow some impressive set ups here ! I'm in one half of a double garage.... Some of the WIP... The 'Stash' is held in a separate classified, secure location :D Cheers, Haydn.
  21. Hi Lancer - the Spang Viper was done slightly differently !..... http://www.usaf-sig.org/Forum/index.php?topic=322.0 Cheers, Haydn.
  22. Hi Lancer, 30279 and 30140 are the correct colours - I know what you are saying about the 30279 looking a bit too pink in 1/72 but I got used to it ! :D Think I used Xtracolor for the 30279 but the 30140 was an acrylic but I cannot remember who's ! Cheers, Haydn.
  23. What do you guys think to this ?..... http://www.usaf-sig.org/Forum/index.php?topic=526.0 Cheers, Haydn.
