Like all the Canadian Drama, this was one that has an interesting backstory.

    From what I can tell.

Long story short Canada which has been making F-35 parts for sometime now (to the tune of billions) wanted to exclude all that from the competition in the name of other industrial cookies the competitors would get to flash, (which is a violation of the JSF contract to boot) The US threatened to finally deep six the whole thing.

Basically Canada was going to try and find a way to say all the JSF benefits wouldn't count because they aren't technically what they were asking for in the competition.

I'm as dumbfounded as everyone else here as I was assured that Canada would be leaving this program and buying super hornets some time ago. You would think this would be Canada chance to finally get away from that program...

Superb article on the latest chapter of the Canadian F-35 Debacle by Canadian who's been on it from the start:

Unbelievable...the whole Mark Norman fiasco was basically just to intimidate RCAF members from leaking information about the F-35 purchase.

  2. Not an aircraft kit, but I'd love to see a modern US Carrier display base to display models on. A few different sections of the carrier deck that could be combined together if you wanted to make a bigger display, or be used individually for a single aircraft. I've seen a few that have been scratch built that look awesome.

DSC always was demanding for computing power so try to get the best system you can afford. For joystick I think Thrustmaster Warthog is most suitable.

My system is Intel Core i7-7700K on Asrock Z270 Extreme MB, 16Gb memory and MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB videocard. OS and the sim are running off SSD and all this delivers decent performance with "high"  settings and 2560 x 1440 screen resolution.

    Thanks for the info.

He was blocked from producing it. I had the FlightDecs sheets but recently sold it. I have to admit, that was one of my favorites too, despite it being a 410 jet.

My favorite jet was my jet, which was designed on my suggestion/request, the 712 Lynx Hornet.

I had the Flight Decs sheet too, but it wasn't very well done in my opinion. You could see all the dots in the printing up close. I ended up giving mine to Colin K for a project he was doing. I hope Kinetic releases it with some better quality decals

At Kinetic we usually will not do too much decal rebox of the kit(except the F-16 series). But the reason why we release the CF-188 series is because the color used in the decal is extensive and it would be very expensive to print by aftermarket company (normally 500 sheets).  If those decal printed nowadays, owning to the low production volume I guess the decal itself would cost more than 39 alone. therefore those high number of color decal sheet is really a ‘Limited Edition’ as the decal goes out, it would

be hard to justify to reprint.

We know Leading edge for 10 years before, the reason for them not selling to fast is because of low production volume and high price(but the maker does not make good profit), therefore we step in to help to bring back the customer want marking printed by cartograph with the help of Kinetic worldwide distribution (to keep the cost down)

We consider the decal rebox basically on the high production cost run for AM company (or from time to time base on distributor request)

So of the supplies is already in limited run, the preorder will serve as the secure supply on the item.

But we will only make decal variant at 9 months aparts.

I hope you come out with the 2003 Tiger Meet jet, that was my personal favorite. I don't believe Dave did that one though.

    Gentlemen,

Back in 2008, the XO of VMFA-122 (then LtCol G. Rowell) was instrumental in having the squadron send me photos, measurements and information about the markings applied to all 12 of their F/A-18C's at Al Asad. The final result was sheet FL48022. Col Rowell is currently the CO of VMX-1 and has once again tasked the squadron with assisting me with reference photos. Last night I received the first email from the Airframes OIC and the image attached is just a sample of what they have provided. A sheet number has not been assigned yet, but the sheet will cover two options of each type the squadron operates (F-35B, UH-1Y, AH-1Z, V-22, CH-53E).

Cliff Bossie has provided detailed walk around photos of the Command V-22, BuNo 168214 with the full color tails and it will be one of the options. This sheet, along with a sheet covering the last of the VMAQ squadrons EA-6B Prowlers and another sheet covering the F/A-18A/C in combat operations from OIF and OIR will be going to the printer in the late summer, early fall.

Great news Dave! I'm looking forward to getting these sheets. Will the VMFA-323 Boss jet be on the F/A-18C sheet? Did you ever get FL32004 Death Dealing Deltas at War back from the printers?

    Thanks,

    Rick
