  1. I’d suggest painting over your yellow actuators and use some Anyz slanted black like decals for clean and even markings. You’ve spent too much money to hand paint them. https://www.anyz.io/shop/product/AN049?ref=category
  2. Mark, I use a base if 1/8” PVC sheet sprayed with a Gunze dark earth. On top of that is a layer of AK light/dry crackle effects. This was my third attempt at it. Too thin and not much will happen and too thick you’ll get deeper crevices. Once applied I put it outside to dry in the natural heat.
  3. She’s on her legs now. And made part of the base.
  4. Thanks Gwen. Col Austin was filmed standing in the HL-10, which was later shown in the opening credits being launched from the NB-52. The crash was actually the M2F2, which was re-built as the M2F3. The X-24A wasn't part of the TV show. Chris
  5. Moving along with this thing and almost ready for decals. The canopy and gear are done, with the nose gear still to attach. I scratchbuilt the front gear doors and skinning the mains with styrene to clean up the roughness of the kit parts. The seat is from an Aires F-106. The wheels hit the deck at a -5 degree camber, so I made a jig to correctly align them.
  6. Nope. They’re over Gunze lacquers.
  7. Nothing special. I used Tamiya panel liner across most of the model. The dirtier areas were old school Winsor Newton oils scrubbed into the paint.
  8. Thank you. I’m trying to do your sheets Justice.
  9. Rode, It was Best AC at Mosquitocon a few weeks ago and has done pretty well on the show circuit. Thanks for the validation.
  10. Here’s my Academy A-10C with Caracal decals. The pics are all from some contests, so not the greatest. The model was built at the request of my 11YO son and he asked for Batman on the ladder door. Quinta cockpit, MCC seat, Master gun, and Reskit/Eduard/kit weapons.
  11. This kit is a bit of a turd. Only the canopy, fuselage halves, MLG doors, and vertical stabs are being used. Everything else is either scratchbuilt, printed, stolen from another kit with heavy modifications.
  12. I’m thankful that I didn’t have the MD option for the gear. I drilled out the kit axles and replaced them with brass rod. I also had to separate them to forward and rear sections because the wheels wouldn’t have been straight. That made it for a solid base for the model. I also pinned the struts into the fuselage for extra support. I backed up the kit gear bay with blocks of styrene for the pins to go.
  13. Utley, Jarrad is awesome and you feel besmirched because he didn’t get you a CRL right off the bat. You were quite the douche to him on the Facebook B-1 page. I got to meet him for the first time at IPMS Nats last year and you’ll never find a more pleasant and welcoming person out there. I don’t think the problem is on his end. Chris
  14. I blew out a B-1 several years ago to include scratchbuilding my own CRL. I dragged it around the show circuit on a special base to see the work I did down there. That’s a lot of money for something you won’t really see.
  15. I'm looking to start my RC-135 with the Combat Kits set. How did you keep your engine nacelles off of the deck? Chris
  16. Here's my Clearprop Skyshark done up using Caracal's TA-7C markings from the Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility in New Mexico. There's a big fat nuke on the belly as well.
  17. Yes. The F-15 belongs to Mike Witkowski and it's been shown around several times.
  18. This picture was taken at Paxcon 2023.
  19. This is the only shot I have of my Pax River A-4M.
  20. Here are some pictures of my Titan Models 1/72 C-32A vac and 3D printed kit. The windows are from Airways Graphics and Air Force 2 from Draw Decals. Very different type of decals from regular waterslide. They don't react at all to solvents and the film is almost like a very thin plastic. There were some pretty big gaps at the wingroot. I was able to fill most of it by spreading the leading edges of the wing and gluing in place. The fuselage gaps were then filled with superglue and topped with Apoxiesculpt. The subsequent gaps in the leading edges were filled styrene stock
  21. I've got a Regulus and Bomarc available to loan out of necessary. Chris
  22. If that’s the case; they’ll sell ZERO.
