Your bird is looking so realistic. With the carrier deck it's a really eyecatcher. Also the weathering effects on the upper fuselage is stunning, how dit you do that? I agree your fix on the front windshield, this part of the AMK kit is a bit "stange" in shape. Congratulations.

AMK F-14D 1/48 VF-31 Final scheme before retirement

Hello Brian. I only use my iphone to add picture on my posts. How do you proceed ? Transfert to your computer with sync cable or sent by mail? Typically iphone pictures weighted around 2MB.

LAST UPDATE BABY ! Call it finished! 😅 Only the actuactors on the upper airbrake are missing. As expected the small details require so much time: pitot and AOA probes, panels of the landing gear covers (i hate painting the red lines on the edge of it) and their actuators, ladder, etc... (I've made an error when painting the lights, can you spot it?) I overcome the canopy disaster with the "3 spare parts" alternative included the box. Thank you Crackerjazz for your advise but i can't find this product in Europe.😒 Final thoughs:

Hello, what tenacity to finish the assembly of this kit forces respect. You deserve our admiration here. Who has not known the nightmare of old decals cracking does not know what he has missed. Congratulations, the finish line is closing in.

Great marbling skills here. Maskol is a great idea. I also find my inspiration on the Doog's video (espacially the Intruder's one). Ready for more.

Thank you mate. I managed to remove the detailed internal structure of the first canopy. Thanksfully I purchased 10 years ago the VF decal sheet for the Tomcatters last Tomcat cruise so I can pick up the names for the second canopy. For the multi-parts canopy I will follow your advice to subdue the optical white edge effect.What is Hyp GS?

Not a shame at all MAC. The same here, have a queen shelve Growler sitting upside down for years ! Apart from the canopy (damn again) all is ready for glueing. The mojo has gone away and i can't find out why. Always need a new project.

UPDATE BABY ! Loadout time. Configuration will be AIM-9 on station 1A/8A - Aim-54C on station 1B - GBU-12 on stations 3 & 6 Fuel tanks are on the way and Lantirn also ready for installation. A big f*** *** (but in french!) went out of my mouth as i remove the masking tape from the canopy (more than words, just see 😒). Crack just on the front. I wanted to avoid using the canopy in three pieces, I think it’s a failure. Stay safe
