  1. 9/30/14 Everything is spoken for. Thank you. ====================================== Everything is sold except the batch 3 1/72nd decals which is currently in negotiations. ======================================= I have not touched models since 2008, I think it was. My lastest hobby is swimming, running, and triathlons. I'd like to sell some of what I have to get some cash for a few races. I have a few unbuilt kits I may one day commplete and so am not really looking to trade and add back to my collection. CONUS only, please. Prices below include my shipping to you. I'm not looking
  2. Gene, thanks for all of those links: good read. I'm still in the same place I've been in for the past 10-years and the same city for my entire life and never lived on the east coast. I thought I once saw a photo of a USN Phantom with three 82s on each inboard and CBUs on each outboard but it could be my imagination. It sounds like an interesting loadout. But the USN always had to be careful with center of gravity and I'm not sure if this was an actual loadout ever used. I wanted just empty pylons for the outboards but if I have to use the only sway braces from the weapon set, I may as wel
  3. Thanks. Luckily, I do have two weapons sets. Typically, USN units in our Vietnam War kept their outboard pylons installed due to limited time and carrier deck space: what a waste to have to buy an entire weapon set just to get some sway braces. Unfortunately, I am not good at whittling plastic so creating on my own would pose troublesome. Thus, this makes me now want to then actually put some weapons on the outboard pylons rather than my initial thinking. My plan was for a total of six 82s on the inboards but now I'll have to look around for photos...maybe additional four CBUs on the ou
  4. It's been a long time since these hands have held bare plastic and I've recently opened up a partially started 1/48 Hasegawa F-4J. I wish to build it with the outboard pylons installed; however, they have these two huge rectangular cutouts in them for what is called maybe a sway brace and yet I don't see anything that fits into these cutouts on any of the sprues. Am I missing something?
  5. I played the drum set for about twenty years but have not touched them for just more than the past ten-years. Family and two kids makes that hard. Now I play two acoustic guitars (6 and 12 string) which is more family friendly...though I went through a divorce recently and that is now moot anyway. My latest passion is swimming on a masters swim team and that takes precedence over any of my other activities including model building: I've not completed a model in 2-years now.
  6. I personally enjoy building to accuracy and authenticity but there have been a time or two where I have deviated from this preference on a little thing or two. I consider this hobby an activity and not a means to decorate the house: it was always a means to keep me busy, challenged and entertained and the goal was not to make a collection of things to be displayed/stored. Thus, most of my builds eventually find their way into the trash and I keep only those few that I consider the best. The activity of the build gets me my money's worth. Having said that, I have not built anything in 2-y
  7. I hear there is something called suicide by cop and I wonder if this is a case along those lines.
  8. I was taught the switch-back-and-forth method but it seems a waste of energy. I'm quite fine to keep the fork in my left hand and the knife in my right hand and to even bring the fork up to my mouth upside down. Also, I'm not averse to just sticking the knife into the food and bringing that up to my mouth. I'm not left-handed and so when I don't need a knife, I keep the fork in my right hand. I always cut my spagetti. I'm not in the mood to play games with it and twirl it on my fork. Oh yeah, I'm native to California and so I'm USA.

  12. Thanks for the compliments. I think the photographs enhance the subject a bit. Mikester, I will try. I doubt I can in January but mabye February. I remember seeing you at the only TVMC event I was able to attend. In fact, you are fellow Rush fan and my daughter told me I should go talk with you because you were wearing a Rush t-shirt. LOL. All my best and Happy New Year to us all!
  13. 1/48 Tamiya P-51B Life took a turn for the worse for me in 2009 and I didn't think I had built anything. However, I stumbled upon a post of mine for a group build which states I completed the above model on January 1, 2009. I just barely got in for 2009! Hopefully I can get back to this hobby in 2010.
