I've had good luck with both Meng and HobbyBoss/Trumpeter. Meng was better, with no charge for replacement parts, HobbyBoss/Trumpeter wanted shipping covered. A reasonable request in my opinion and for a reasonable amount as well.

I bought the metallic paint set from Vallejo. So far I have only painted wheel wheels so I haven't really tested the durability yet. It does spray and look great. I have previously used the AK Xtreme Metal for NMF finishes and that stuff is fantastic! And smelly. And harder to find...

Does anyone have a spare canopy for a Monogram F-105D? Somehow the kit I bought (used of course) has the G model canopy (which isn't going to work on a D model) Thanks in advance!

Gents, is anyone aware of 1/48 decals for the F-105D Hanoi Special flown by David Waldrop? My Google searches are coming up goose eggs in 1/48.

As an FYI if anyone has an issue in the future...I received a whole new clear sprue from Mirage, direct from Poland to my USA address, free of charge yesterday. Mirage gave me hurt@mirage-hobby.pl to as a good contact email for spare parts via their Facebook page. There was no communication from them to say they received my email, I just said I'd like to purchase a new windscreen and 3 weeks later there it was as a signature required box.

I've got a broken canopy on my PZL-23 and I have been unsuccessful getting anyone's attention at Mirage Hobby. I offered to buy a replacement. After 6 days, no response from either. Anybody ever have any luck out of them?

I've seen them without engines on the wing and that wing sticks strait out, parallel to the ground. At least that's my recollection of it...

Care to share any build tips? I've heard the horror stories about the nose/front glass fit but never a definitive fix for the issues.
