  1. Your are right and I understand that. IMO it should be FOUO, anything related to aircraft survivability should be. No one on this site has a need to know so my original post was adequate. I understand people are curious but you are just creating another reference that can be found on google linking this two page docuement with pictures and such. It's just more information for people that gather information. I found this website because I googled my aircraft to look for news stories about a recent tdy trip we did. All I am saying is dont put two and two together for the enemy, aka don't post th
  2. That open source budget doc isn't supposed to be opens source. The proper term is FOUO. For official use only and shouldn't be available on open source media.
  3. You're welcome brother. When I get back to work I will see what the regt has. I don't have any of the bird or the C2 kit which was mostly de-modded by the time I came to the regt. Just leftover wire harness that were capped off.
  4. Okay awesome, 1. If you are talking about the large rectangle that's is forward of the flare launcher but aft of the transition section (the tapered part between the tail boom and the cabin fuelselage. It is an avionics access panel. Open it and there are boxes inside. Nothing exciting. 2. They are cooling vents, if you look in the from the outside there is wire mesh and a cooling fan like you would find in a computer. 3. Sounds like a rumor to me. I honestly don't know what I would need or use a touch screen anything for in the back..... Doesn't mean I am
  5. It may have been one of our Lewis birds. The regt modded a few MH-60L's for C2 specifically back in the day. I believe they did these mods around the time of Desert Storm. So I assume that a dedicated C2 bird was used during GS. I think I saw a virtual ramp that showed 3 C2 birds back in the day, circa 2011. That could have been all that was left or all they modded before realizing a dedicated C2 aircraft wasn't the best idea. The tail that was pushed to Lewis for us to use for a short while before we turned in all the Limas was 89-26189. Their is a very real possibility his was t
  6. Excellent thank you gentlemen. I started reading but it was a terribly long string of comments.
  7. I found a link with some good history. http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Stories1/001-100/0009_Blackhawk_down/story0009.htm
  8. Its not CMWS or APR-39. Its new Advanced ASE and thats all anyone needs to know for now ;-) The good stuff.
  9. Pilot seat tilt egress doesn't happen. There has been a lot of talk about the front of the cabin/aft cockpit but I still haven't seen anything talking about the center console extension or the battery boxes on each side of that and then the ammo cans are mount behind those. if you look at a standard h-60m the cabin has nothing behind the seats. All MH-60M's have martin baker crash worthy seats period. Who ever said it in this post or another is wrong and I am not sure why he thinks that. Yes their are different cabin configs but all mh-60m's can have all of those different configs includi
  10. We don't use m134 dump tubes. You can't easily traverse the guns because the tube will hit the mount. We used to but the tube was floppy and when bent over on the gun bar, it would back fill links and brass up to the gun and jam it so when the wore out we sopped using them. Now the links and brass just beat the crap out of the bird.
  11. Oops messed that quote up. We had a few of the old MH-60L iDAP demods at Lewis. When the MH-60L CAAS came around the old non-CAAS iDAP's where issued to a fresh and new company that was stood up at Lewis. They were de-modded from iDAP's and turned in to MH-60L COMNAV's. You can see by all these terms that managing a fleet of 7 different MH-60's became a chore so the awesome MH-60M was a relief but they have lots of upgrades from a base model too now. We also had 365, 290, 293, 285, 276, 414, 289, 350 and 288. 288 is the only MH-60L to go to a museum, the one at Fort Rucker. The rest wer
  12. Yes it was ours from Fort Lewis, no there isn't a conspiracy. When you are in a special operations unit doing special operations things and crash a helo and then a the Japanese search and rescue d-bags records the incident and gives it to the news station and then a news helo shows up you cover the aircraft in an attempt to protect your special operations unit. There are lots of sensitive things on our birds so you try to cover the bird as fast as you can. I have seen lots of pictures on here of our birds and it is a bit upsetting to say the least. I know it helps you build and that is why
  13. I wish I could but I am a 60 guy at Fort Lewis, no little birds here. I assume that is similar to what we used on the MH-60L COMNAV. A green CRT display, old technology with a few buttons across the bottom. Should be very similar to this. http://www.cornucopia3d.com/purchase.php?item_id=13002
