BTW, the builder of that 1/72 IDF, gf13_001nhii, signed up for 8 units in that project. So I'd say if the project does make it, we have a pretty good chance getting a nice kit. :lol:

The first thing the group wants to achieve is to have enough people committed to the project. Then they will start the process. Without enough money, nothing can be done any way. That 1/72 IDF build (actually a conversion from a incorrect 1/60 kit) is amazing. The builder is also a member of that Taiwanese forums. I followed his process back when he's building it. That was before the forums crashed and lost all data few months ago. Most people in the group want a 1/48 one. So that's what they are doing. Right now, a good injection kit in any scale is great.

I don't know if you heard of this. But a group of modelers in Taiwan are trying to pool some money together and produce an injection mold 1/48 IDF kit: http://www.thepmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5 The link is in Chinese. Basically they are trying to get people to commit to the total of 2000 kits at NT$1000 (about US$30) each. The deadline is 11/31/2010. Once they reached the goal, they will find a manufacturer (like AFV who is based in Taiwan) to help designing and producing the kit. Both single and twin seat versions are planned though it's not clear if they will be separate boxing
