  8. Hey those are some NICE models Rob. Ive never heard of a Blackburn Rock it sure is ugly ;) all though you have built a great model of it. Is the fulmar the old frog kit in a SMER box? Ellis (Old enough to rember buying frog kits)
  9. Ive had a Airfix 1/24 stuka on my shelf for all most 20 years Ive never built it because the decals are dryed up and useless. I suppose I could paint the crosses but not codes and badges same with there 1/24 Bf109 which I also have. Ellis Big airfix fan

    B29s in olive drab

    Hi all Im building a 1/48 B29 but Im too chicken to do a NMF finish Can anyone reccomend good on line or book/magzines that show OD/NG finished B29s? Thanks Ellis (stocking up on OD paint)

  16. A fiend of mine was having trouble getting a lid of his paint bottle so he trapped the lid in betwen a door and the frame and turned the bottle. Unfortuneately he closed the door to tight and the lid and bottle-neck crushed spilling the paint. ;) Ok, it was'nt really a fiend of mine. It was me. Ellis

  22. If you use Xtracolors you do'nt need to future the paint before decaling, its all ready glossy. And now they make Xtracyrlics too if you prefer acyrlics. Ive not been able to find Xtracolors and Xtracyrlics in canada though you have to order them from Hannants in the UK but there ecxellent paints. Ellis

Do'nt worry Terry there are lots of great modellers who use an Aztek and acheive fantastic results and all though urlooney is quick to critisize Azteks one of my freinds uses an Aztek and his models are award winners. (I do'nt know what airbrush urlooney uses nor have I ever seen any of his models on this forum but I'd like too know what he uses and if hes ever tried an Aztek) Binks-Wren I've never heard of that one :unsure: Ellis Defender of the under-dog
  24. Hi N405GJ I made the same switch and was worried like you about getting a descent finish with acyrlics but I can tell you now I would'nt go back to enamels Why? Because acyrlics dry so much qucker no more waiting over night for first coat to dry. One tip I got from ARC is to mix a bit of future in with the acyrlic paint to make it flow better and dry harder. I found I had to thin my acyrlic paints more than I did with enamels nut once you get used to it you will be fine. My favorite acyrlic paints are Tamya and polly scale and gunze if you can find them.
