  1. Started saving now, 10pence per day should get the ball rolling😉
  2. Hi all, Just wondered if anyone can help, I'm still looking for good reference material on the F model Skycrane. Anyone point me in the right direction? Ideally the Rotorhead, Swashplate and transmission deck. Also the Engines and nose landing gear areas. I did approach Errickson but no deal on any pictures or technical dimensions, possibly thought the crazy Brit would try and build one in his shed? All help appreciated in advance. Kind regards Ian.
  3. Hi, do you have a check out code or are the prices already discounted? Looking at 1/32 A-10 and F/A-18 decals. Cheers Ian.
  4. I would do another of Floyd's conversions at the drop of a hat, a. Just can't get hold of them, b. Can't really afford one at the moment even if he was still producing. Having said that the UK customs taxes drastically increase the import of all the great stuff you guys have, Floyd's conversions, Lone Star/Cobra stuff etc So many cool things coming out, Kittyhawk Blackhawks have me mesmerised, especially with Black Ops nose and Floyd's decals. Tamiya F-14D is in my sights as well. Dont don't delay with the MH-47, it's a beast but can be trained to give a nice model, th
  5. Appologies, I thought I'd put it on ARC. Here's the link to my builds last year, it's the top one so you won't have to scramble through the whole page. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235031902-woos-2017-builds/&tab=comments#comment-2916563
  6. A monster of a kit that seems to eat your time I'd agree. Great build and I agree it's a problem to store, however I don't regret building mine and even have a second one to build in the MERT role of the RAF, pure madness😂
  7. That's a great shame about the Tanker version being dropped, however I'll buy the set just for the stencils alone (unless you'd release them separately)? Awwome set of markings though, well done sir.
  8. Great product range just got bigger. https://blackopsmodels.com/products/copy-of-black-ops-1-35-hh-60g-nose-avionics-bay-conversion-kit-for-1-35-academy-blackhawk-kit Just thought you'd like to know😉
  9. Great photos from perfect angles. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Another great subject with loads of scope, hats off sir.
  11. Looks a nice conversion for a dog of a Revell kit. You could easily convert this to a civil Agusta A109C with sliding doors. I am amazed that no one has made a AW109E/S in 1/48, the market could be there for the US Coast Guard machine, it wouldn't be that hard to reproduce the airframe as the NewRay metal desktop models are nearly accurate and look the part. Just thinking out loud 🤔😈 Nice conversion though, from a company who loves to fill the gaps in helicopter modelling.
  12. Yep, this just about sum's up my feeling about it.
  13. Hey Jon, Saw this on BM. A really nice build of this modern subject, I think the panel line wash is just right. The one thing that makes it for me is the clean lines of no ordnance. Well done sir.
  14. Stunning work on all aspects of the dio. I use sticker dots for my wheel masks, used to get them from Staples, all different sizes available, although that cutter sounds ideal.
  15. You could try Heli scale quality? The guy there does bispoke decals if you have good referance photos. I can personally recommend him as I've had three sets for my Corpo Foristalle builds.
  16. Time well spent on the cockpit, I was surprised how much detail is seen when she's closed up with the canopies down. Looks like it's going to be a great build thread to follow.
  17. I feel your pain with the build of the kit, not easy as you've said, however I found once it was done I was pleased to add such an overseen but ensential aircraft to my collection of US Navy aircraft. I do agree though that the aircraft usually have a high gloss/ gloss finish, a big aircraft to use Wadpole on though. Nice decal choice as well, congrats.
  18. Thanks again for all the useful information. I've decided to start looking at building a KA-6 from the mid-late 70's, grey over white with striking markings. In addition to the centre line refuel point, a buddy pod. I'm going to try to avoid touching the wing fence's if at all possible. All ll I need to do now is start the hunt for the parts and collect referance.
  19. Thanks guys, very helpful. I didn't realise I'd have to chop into the kit to move the wing fence, out comes the razor saw then? Its a very good idea to add the refuel buddy tank, I'd seen one on eBay but wasn't sure if they ever fitted one on to the aircraft, now I know. Ive been looking at research material to buy and have narrowed it down to the Intruder book with one flying in the sunset, I take it this would give me enough detailed instruction on the differances from the A-6A to a tanker version? failing this I'm not sure what to pick up? Tha
  20. Hi all, Ive just added a 1/32 Trumpeter A-6A Intruder and would like to build the tanker version from Steel Beach. My questions are, is the Steel Beach conversion the only thing I need? There doesn't seem to be a lot in the conversion. I've seen allthumbs build of the EA-6A, and his great referance material, what's a good referance book for my build, the interweb doesn't seem to throw much up for my chosen subject. The Avionix cockpit doesn't seem to add much that couldn't be added with a small amount of time, is it as good/mediocre as the pictures? I will c
  21. Would you consider making wingfold assemblies for the Tamiya 1/32 Phantoms?
  22. Thanks for this thread, it's very revealing. Ive just sold one of my three Hasegawa cats, having one A and one D, my D model has a damaged upper fuselage that I've tried to get replaced, no luck getting it from the UK stockist though. I've been thinking of approaching the USA stockist but not sure who to approach or if it's worth it? You guys haven't touched on the Hobbyboss kits, I've got a few of these. How do they stack against the Hasegawa and Tamiya kits? I've yet to get an A model Tamiya kit but am looking forward to the D and the AMK models coming out.
  23. You wait for a bus all day, then two come along going to same place you want to go, that's the rule of life😎 Ive not seen a Tamiya Tomcat in the flesh but have read all the threads, seems like my wallet will be empty at the end of summer. FLY NAVY, eat crab.
