  1. That's a pretty cheap pound the exchane was roughly 1GBP = $3.25 GBP so about $160,00 to $165,000 give or take. A P-47 was $85,000 in 1945 A B-17 in 1945 was $187,000, B-24 in 1944 $215,000 all of these are rough costs since they were purchased in in blocks and the price went down with with more being built. Seventy grand it's once in a lifetime. Ken

  5. One thing to note: Squadron (Sqn) is the official importer of Roden, so Sprue Brothers (SB) pretty much has to buy their stock of Roden from Squadron. Amusingly, if you check the stock available at both sites, you find that SB has 3 in stock, Sqn has 93 in stock. Ergo, those kits are taking up quite a lot of space in Sqn's warehouse and cost them a pretty decent amount to get from Roden. While those kits continue to go unsold, they're effectively costing Sqn money, since the money they used to pay for those kits is tied up, preventing Sqn from acquiring other merchandise to sell, or spend on a
  6. I agree with you Les people who like EV's generally don't care for cars to begin with and only tolerate them because it beats walking. Besides EV's will NEVER replace this Ken
  7. Well the winners get about $45,000 and the losers $22,500, so the loser get less than what a first year rookie gets on a per game basis and the winners get about the same as the maximum base. As far as bonuses clauses go most star players don't have them as they are already being paid well ie. if we're paying you $10 million a year you should be voted to the pro bowl it's the players are unlikely to get voted that have those clauses because it costs the team nothing. The players go because they can talk to players from other teams about good/bad agents, contracts etc. Ken
  8. The only reason the players show up is because the game is being played in Hawaii, otherwise they wouldn't bother. I also wouldn't be to happy if one of the star players on a team I was rooting for got hurt in a meanigless game like this. Ken :cheers:/>

  23. My apologies I did not notice your post about bedevilment. I guess that photo is just one of things that get my knickers in a knot for some reason, it's probably because some people try to use it as the rule, rather than the exception. But as far as doing that on a model it would unfortunately just look bad, it's had to do sloppy in scale without it looking overly sloppy. Kem
  24. Why is it this is the only picture anyone ever posts where are the others? most invasions stripes were pretty well applied. This picture is also after D-day and they are touching it up as can be seen by the condition of the aircraft note the exhaust staining, It's been used long and hard repeatedly, not something you would in a run up to the invasion. Ken
  25. That is basically true but it used the Cadillac Northstar engine, what I was refering to is that Corvette won't move fron Chevrolet to Cadillac. Ken
