The product page has been updated with a link to PDF instructions for the set.

    Hi Kursad,

Thanks for posting the instructions for the EX conversion set!  I do have a question though…it appears that there was a measurement that the modeler should pay attention to that was left off of the sheet.  On page 5 when your mounting the sensors just below the canopy sills, it’s showing a measurement that’s missing.  Can you please pass that on so that we place the sensors correctly?

    Thanks,

    Brad

I used the O2 and O3 parts when I built my EX using the GWH F-15E kit and the BAM EX conversion to mount AIM-120’s on the bottom rail of the CFT…..turned out well!  I’ll see if I can find an image of the rail and post it

Found an image to show what mounting the AIM-120’s on the bottom rail of the CFT looks like….. hope this helps!

Wouldn't it be possible to use the crutches from the F-15C or E (Hasegawa/GWH or other) and mount these on the bottom CFT? Thinking of parts C3 or C7 from the Hasegawa or parts O3 or O2 from the GWH F-15C kit as two possibility? (Yes, I know this would warrant that you actually have either kit 😉 )

    Dammit! You beat me!

The race is now to actually build it!

Well you might beat me Aaron!  Still have a build in from of my EX.  I’m about 70% done on my 75th Anniversary Jet from Kingsley !  By it I have all of the parts I need to get going on the EX!

  5. Hi Fellow Plastic Munchers!

I was one of the lucky 10 that received the early EX conversion set from Caracal and I have to tell you all, that in my almost 60 years of building models, I have never seen a conversion set quite like this!  First impression is that the packaging is excellent!  Nothing showed up broken away from the printing blocks and no parts were broken or missing!

Second, in my opinion the cockpit tub is worth the price of admission.  It is just outstanding, as are all of the other parts!  This is going to make a very impressive EX or QA F-15.  Here are some images of the parts still attached to their printing blocks and caged!  As soon as I start fitting parts I will take follow up pictures and post them.

I don’t think anyone that purchases this set is going to be dissatisfied or disappointed!  And please know I purchased my set and am not affiliated with Caracal in any way!  But I know stellar work when I see it and this is STELLAR!

    OK, let's do this.

Here is a  link to a PayPal button where you can order one of the 10 early "beta test" sets I can ship as soon as tomorrow.

There is no fancy item page or detailed description yet. I have posted photos of the entire set here. This really is a limited pre-sale for the "true believers" who will buy this sight unseen.

CMP48505 1/48 F-15EX Conversion Set "Air Superiority Bundle" beta test sale

You are getting the exact same set that everyone else will get, minus a printed instruction manual (not sure if the final set will even include one) and box label.

In return for getting an early example, you are getting the special "Air Superiority Bundle" - an extra 12 (twelve) 3D-printed AMRAAMs so you can load your F-15EX to the maximum extent possible. If you like the set and have a positive thing to say, I would appreciate it if you can post short reviews and spread the word.

The price will be $80, including shipping in the US. This early beta test is US only - sorry. If any one you have written a Hyperscale review and can write one quickly, please let me know and I will consider making an exception.

    Thank you KursadA,

I am very much looking forward to this conversion!  GWH F-15E standing by !  Only nine left everyone….don’t be shy, this looks like a tremendous set!

Very well done! Could I ask if you scratch built the gear doors or 3d printed them? Thanks!

They were scratch built, as the BAM kit didn’t offer them in their conversion set!  However the new Caracal conversion set will have the landing gear doors in their set, as soon as it is released!

Me too. I provided the refs on the Boss Bird, so I'll be building it. But, I'm not going to build it as I saw it...more like one of the full-up test birds. CFT's, nav pod, TigerEyes and Sniper pod, the works!

    Aaron

Ps. Are you hitting Kingsley in July?

    Hey Aaron,

    yep I’ll be there!
