  1. I have bought a lot off Amazon with never a problem and I am a Prime member. I think it was my fault though as the one I bought had been returned and was listed at a cheaper price. If I had only read a little closer. I wont make that mistake again.
  2. So I received my new B-25B kit today. I was excited and opened up the shipping box only to find the model box mangled. I bought it off Amazon and it had an Amazon quality inspection decal on the box. Obviously they didn't look at it too close. I guess I bought a return by mistake. It had been opened and resealed. As I looked through the box, I noticed that one half of the fuselage was bent so bad it had changed colors and it was nearly broken in two. There were other parts off the trees and several of the trees were warped too. BUMMER. I was able to return it for a refund though so now I"ll or
  3. I did read some of the reviews before buying it. I was also looking at another kit but it was the B25J I think. I'm still learning the differences between the B and other models.
  4. I just bought the Academy Doolittle raid B25B. Has anyone had any experience with this kit? From what I can tell, it looks like a nice kit. I wanted one from the Doolittle Raid and this was the only one I could find. Kit number 12302
  5. Yeah it's only "eight" months away. My wife and I can't wait.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I have looked at the bug and others from the Small Shop. They look good. Some are rather pricey too. I am a machinist by trade and I have thought about making my own. I have access to some scrap I could use. Best part, it's free.
  7. I have been looking at different tools for bending photo etch. Iv'e never used photo etch before and I have purchased a detail set for the Tamiya Jeep Willys MB. What benders do you recommend?
  8. I just bought a new airbrush and compressor a couple of months ago but I'll be doing a little of both. Once I get the hang of it.
  9. Bang for the buck is right. I think I paid less than 12 for it shipped on Amazon. It is the Razorback kit and I'm building it right out of the box. Not sure which markings I'm using just yet.
  10. I had the same problem with glossy finishes. I never could get it. That's another reason the kits are in the closet. From what I've seen, most of the finishes are flat. I just need help figuring out what the correct colors are.
  11. Helicopters are on my list. Thinking about a Huey from Vietnam
  12. I only built cars. I'm a Mustang guy so I have tried to build one from every year. I still have several in the boxes but it just became boring to me. So they sit in the closet. I'm trying military modeling so I can get a history lesson as I build. (I also have a few ship kits to build as well). RKic, that is a nice looking P-47.
  13. I'm trying to stay with 1/48th scale. There seem to be a lot of aircraft in that scale.
  14. First post on this forum. My name is Scott and I have been building models for more than 30 years but I've never built airplanes before. In the last few years I can't seem to get enough history. My wife's late grandfather was in WWII and I missed my chance to talk to him about the war. Since he passed, I've watched or read everything I can from WWII up to Vietnam. Anyway, I would like to start building aircraft from WWII building my way through Vietnam. I just purchased my first ever kit. A Revell P-47. These were built very close to my home town in Evansville, IN and I think that will be a go
