Hi Sting! Thanks for the tip re: rubbing alcohol. Would this also strip the paint off? Originally when I built this kit I didn't know about future, so the decals went straight onto the paintwork. That's why I put the dullcote on, to hopefully take the shine off the decals. I don't mind if the decals go, I made the mistake so I have to live with it and pay for it one way or another! I think it may be easier to just strip the whole thing back, or scrap it and buy another Viking.

Hi all! I have built the ES-3A offering from AMT-ERTL as an S-3 and loved every minute of it. However, recently I'd thought I'd tone-down the shine off the decals by applying some dullcote. Big mistake. It was an old can and it left some yellow residue, so I don't really know whether to scrape it all back with some Mr Muscle, or scrap it and build another one, which leads to my question: is there any major difference between this kit and the re-boxing by Italeri? I'm not really sure if Italeri played with the moulds, or being a remoulded kit, if they are a little less sharp now, compared with

I built the 1/48 Hasegawa F-16N a few years ago. Iv'e since discovered the wonders of future and recently stripped the decals off and re-applied the same markings after getting a new set from Hasegawa. My question is; what finish did these aircraft have? Were they matt or satin? TIA!!

Thanks for the explanation! Finally, is there any difference between Hasegawa kits H09605 1/48 AV-8B HARRIER II PLUS VMA-223 BULLDOGS and H07234 1/48 AV-8B NIGHT ATTACK HARRIER? Is it simply one has the radar, the other hasn't?

Looking at pics at kitreview.com, the cockpit and chaff/flare dispensers look as though they have raised detail on them. Why would they also have decals printed for them as well?

Hi all! I'm mulling over whether or not to include one in my 1/48th collection. Which would be the best to buy? Also, does anyone out there have some Two Bob's decals for this subject they don't want or are left over from a project? I've looked around their website and all their Harrier sheets seem to be sold out. Love the fact they included three sets of decals in the one sheet! TIA

That's music to my ears! From what I've seen, the SuperScale sheet of the "EL" subject looks a bit sharper than Italeri's offering, not that they're bad, but if the SuperScale sheet is going to play hard to get then I'll quite happily use the box decals. Just have to wait and see how it goes together, but I think my Tamiya kit will be winging it's way to eBay.......!

Also, (forgive my ignorance) what's with the shortened main wheel sponson on the starboard side? :P

Seeing the decals have an option for 23rd TFW (love that shark's mouth!), would these be correct for a Euro One paint scheme? If so, saves me mucking around trying to get SuperScale or Tamiya decals!

Can't wait to see your build review of the two kits! Do you think it would be terribly hard to backdate either kit to a Euro One looking Hawg? i.e. paint and decal scheme of the Tamiya offering, as I'm assuming it would be pre-LASTE?

Does anyone know when the Italeri and Hobby Boss kits will be avaliable? I saw the test fit of the Hobby Boss version and it looks rather nice. Is the Hobby Boss from the same mould as the Italeri one?

Hi all! I have at home Tamiya's 1/48th offering of the A-10A, kit 61028. With the release of Italeri's offering, and the alledged problems with the Tamiya kit, would it be worth letting this one go and picking up the Italeri kit? I was thinking of doing one with the European One scheme as I think it looks awesome, but I'm not sure if they carried MER's with triple Mavericks, the 12 Mk 82's, the single GBU-10, GBU-8 and a pair of Rockeyes, all included in the Tamiya kit. I hear the Italeri one offers some LAU-117's with Mavericks and a DRA with a pair of Sidewinders, which among other things, w
