If you're just getting back into the hobby and want an even better experience, get the Revell F-15E. It's the best F-15 kit you can get. Of course, it makes up into an E, and that's a very different animal.

You want the veri-thin. They have smaller, harder cores which adhere OK to a flat finished model (not as well to glossy paints) The Premier line has a large soft wax core so that the colors can be blended on paper. They're great for art, but not so hot for models.

I'm pretty much converted to superglue for the big cracks, and Gunze Mr. Surfacer for the small stuff. I apply the Gunze with an old pointed paint brush, and it has cut my sanding down considerably.

I'm sooooo there.

Just a reminder, the deadline is closing fast!!

Is the deadline still August 1 in your hands? Maybe we should re-do roll call in case there are some slackers, one or two of us might be able to pick up the dropped squads? -
Jeremy, I've got VF-84 decals. I think it's possible I have every scheme ever printed. Did you have a particular scheme you wanted to do? If I could pick for you, I'd pick the Flag scheme with the VF-Decals sheet. I'd be happy to send you a set. Also, another good choice would be the last markings for VF-84: I also have 2 of those, so could share them as well. Finally, if you want low-vis, I could provide you with superscale 48-327, which has these: For this jet Let me know if I can help you (PM me, or e-mail kozlok***REMOVE***@charter.net) As an alternative, I've alrea

I'm working hard...just not taking pics! -
How Many have completed their builds?
kozlok replied to TF51GREGWISE's topic in A-7 Corsair/F-8 Crusader Group Build
Sorry kids, no joy on getting done. I got my F-8 an A-7D both together and ready for paint, but I've been building an F-14 for the Sunset build. I also got distracted by an F-117 build...but that's a different problem. -
Hmmm...I've built 2 Academy F-14's, and haven't had much fit trouble along the front. I know it's not perfect, and there is a seam to fill, but it's not as bad as the Monogram's nose. I start by using Tenax, and glue all the way from the back up to the wing cut-outs (wings are not yet installed, but have been dry-fitted). Next, fill all the seams in the back while the wings are still off, and I paint the back end of the aircraft so I can paint under the wing. Now install the wings, and use Tenax on the wing gloves. I let that harden completely before moving forward. I use rubber ban

Superscale did an old low-vis VF-1 sheet They are black markings on a overall gloss gull grey jet.

I do it...I'm really careful, though. I just go down to where the putty is a little above the plastic, and finish by hand.

Go to Almansur's Website for details of the Jolly Roger's markings. The F-4's are here: http://www.almansur.com/jollyrogers/phantombones.htm The "flag" markings are the first B models, then the J-models flew with black tails. Later, they did fly with B models with black tails, but only from shore (not carrier based). When they went back to sea, they had the N model. In any case, with the B models with all black tails, there were no carrier codes, and the later N's had the carrier codes in a different place than your decals. It will all make sense if you check the website. The markings

I'm sure it's supposed to be Mach 1.9...just under 2, a little slower than the Cat. The pics don't lie...those jets are at supersonic speeds.

There is actually a 3-seat version being undertaken by Champion Outfitters (whose previous experience with hip-hop quality limos can be clearly seen to good use here....) Hey...as long as I was photoshopping raptors...why not?

Ack! Totally NO FUN. Sorry to hear that.

I have a set. One of each. PM me if you need them (free)

Why haven't they painted the E-2's Ghost Gray?
kozlok replied to Darren Roberts's topic in Jet Modeling
Maybe the Navy just needed SOMEONE to use up all that old stock of paint... -
Brian came to my rescue with a set of out of print decals to help me out when I flubbed one and needed a set. He didn't just send me the one decal I needed, but the whole sheet, and tossed in a bonus as well. Hard to call this a "trade" as I gave nothing but these thanks. Don't let those meathooks scare you kids...Brian is a gentleman, and helps out when needed.

I was thinking something like this....

Funny thing is that the SPAD XIII could out-turn ALL of them, but I think it looses the dogfight Go back to WWII, and the Zero could run circles around and around the P-38, but the win/loss record shows that that is not necessarily the winning tactic. But sometimes the zero wins. It's a complex subject; you need a plane and a tactic that work in harmony and play to the opponent's weakness in the situation at hand. Another analogy, think about a guy with a spear. He beats the guy on the horse most every time. But the guy with a spear gets killed by someone with a bow. The guy with the

I LIKE your customer service. Yeah, there was a correction with the JR sheet, but most of your competitors would have IGNORED the problem. But with that said, if I change my vote to "you guys stink", could I have a free sheet???? :D (don't really want one) I bet the guys who think you stink are mad about that. If you'd said nothing, you'd have gotten away with it. Can't please some people.

I bet that those that don't like the pre-order concept really hate it, and those that like it, accept it as a necessary reality. There's a part of me that hates it (I want my decals NOW!), but I realize that by sharing the economic risk, we end up with decals we otherwise would not have. In the end, I 100% support the concept, especially until VF Decals can generate enough cash flow to be self funding.

I have done this a couple of times...I drilled a big hole in the side of the nose, and put in lead shot I picked up at a sporting goods store. Fill the hole with a little circle of styrene, fill the rest with putty, and sand smooth.

Looks like one to me....

Hmmm....I had forgotten about that, but yeah, looking at my Academy Tomcat the gear door and the glove pylon pretty much share the same space, whereas on the Revell Tomcat sitting next to it, there is about a 1/16" space between the two. I don' think you'll be able to move the pylon, as it is already quite close to the edge. I think perhaps the gear bay is too large.
