  1. Thanks guys for assuring me that I wasn't nuts or visually deficient :D All I need now is the small intake and P&W burner and I'll be right, said he with half a squadron of the damn kits. I now need to get some more BLK40 HUDs from the Black Box cockpit sets and I'll be right for my ANG onslaught. :o
  2. Typhoon1, I have a magazine by Key Publishing in the UK showing F-16B Blk 10OCU MM7269 (79-0431) with underwing tanks. This a/c also has the small tailplanes and Blk 10 aerial fit under the intake. HTH
  3. Am I going nuts/seeing things or has every reviewer of the Tamiya F-16CJ kit missed it. Sprue J part 22 appears to my foreign eye, to be a 5R pylon of the correct shape, or at least longer and closer to the correct shape than the Hasegawa ones. I've read about a dozen different reviews of the kit and have gone back and reread them and no-one mentions this little bit, even the instructions prefer not to acknowledge that it exists. Just wondering and hoping that I'm not a nutter suffering the ravages of old age. Phil
  4. Brad, I have a set from the Italeri kit that you can have if you want. Just PM me your snail mail address. Phil Hastie Canberra, Australia PS Love Vancouver, I was over there in June this year.
  5. Beautiful Viper, the weathering is superb and the paint work is very well done, it's cemeted my thoughts on doing that aircraft as one of mine. The other will be AfterBurners 421stFS Black Widows and I haven't yet decided on a colour scheme for the third one, but I'm sure I can find a ANG scheme. Great Job :D
  6. Excellent paint job, great job on the exhausts as well. I hope my GA ANG Italeri kit paint job looks s good when it's finished.
  7. Chris, Two Bobs did a 1/72nd F-16C Aggressor sheet s/no72-002. If you can't find it anywhere, try Victorian Hobby Centre in Melbourne Australia they used to have stacks of them earlier this year. Their contact address is: The Victorian Hobby Centre 21A Swanston St Melbourne 3001 Australia Ph 61 3 9650 4817 Fax 61 3 9650 1025 They don't have e-mail or a website. HTH Phil Hastie Canberra, Australia
  8. Damn, I might just have to finish off the Souix City Gold bird that is waiting for my time. :D
  9. Thanks to Viper50, I now have the instructions to this sheet. Once again this forum comes through. Thanks Phil H Canberra Australia
  10. I'm looking for a scanned copy of the decal instructions for the Experts Choice? NYANG F-16s with the Cobra on the tail. I have been given a part sheet without instructions and I need to see which parts are missing from the detail decals, ie unit badges etc. Thanks for your help
  11. Murph, Pictures of this aircraft in "Meteor, Sabre & Mirage in Australian Service" by Stewart Wilson, show the aircraft had the hooded canopy, large intakes and rocket rails. RAAF Meteors did not have the serials under the wing, only on the rear fuselage and the last 3 on either side of the nose. Also these aircraft were painted aluminium and not bare metal as some people have painted their models. HTH Phil Canberra Australia
  12. Oh good another reason to start another F-16 kit or two. 22 1/48th scale kits and 50 plus 1/72 scale ones to choose from all with ANG decals :D B)
  13. Well this beast is finally finished and ready to go. Here are a few of it prior to finishing and one of the finished aircraft. I will be sending an article to Steve in the next couple of days. The first one is of the steely eyed driver. The next one is of the finished aircraft minus the canopy. and finally after 2 and a bit years here it is. :) Enjoy people. Critique is welcome as I know there are a couple of faults, but it looks good in the cabinet. Phil.
  14. Well after a shocker of eighteen months I ha ve final got to restart the build on this beast. These photos were taken in Jan 07 after the initial coats of grey, one of which changed colour through the use of low tack blue painters masking tape. The brokem LAU-128 was replaced with a resin replacement thanks to some nice moulding silastic and one of Mr Hasgawas finest bits. I hope to have the final pictures up later in the week as all I have left to do is fit the canopy and some extra weapons. Photo one shows the Orion Models scab plates.
  15. Joined the RAAF in Jan 71 as a 15yr old apprentice(I reckon I was sold into slavery by my mum because I ate too much), trained as an Engine Fitter, worked on HS748, Macchi MB326H, C-47, CT-4A Airtrainers at East Sale in Victoria, got posted in 79 to the VIP SQN and worked on HS748, Mystere/Falcon 20, BAC 1-11, then in 84 went to Pearce in Western Australia and worked on Macchi MB326H and Caribou, also taught Viper and P&W R2000 engine courses to the new techos and Macchi systems to the new pilots, went back to East Sale in 87 to work on HS748, Macchi MB326H as well as instructional duties
  16. Bill It's looking good so far. Here's a picture I took of one that one of our club members here in Canberra, Australia did for our club's 2005 annual comp. I also believe that it made it's show debut at the IPMs uk Nats in 2004. Keep up the good work.
  17. Just got back from two weeks holiday in South and Central Queensland B) and waiting in the mail for me were; Two Bobs 1/48th F-16C Golden State Griffins and 1/72nd Hurricane Katrina sheets, and Cutting Edge Skyraider Non-armour conversion from Meteor Productions. :D The latter will be used to make an early AD-6 from Marine Squadron AES-12 based at Quantico in the International Orange and White scheme also from Cutting Edge. :D
  18. I have some close ups taken at Nowra about two years ago I'll try and find them and e-mail them to you.
  19. Wolfik, Just a word of caution, only the F-111C's can carry the AGM-142 in RAAF service. The F-111G's aren't being updated to carry it. HTH Phil Canberra, Australia
  20. Mungo you're a champion!! thanks mate for that, now I have to find some 1/48th Mod Eagle data decals.
  21. Mungo, Thanks for the reply. The kit has LowViz Tail markings for the HANG aircraft but the stencil data is High Vis for the other 3 schemes and I was wondering if in this 1995 timeframe the HANG would have already gone to Mod Eagle colours and markings. Thanks Phil Canberra, The Nation's Capital
  22. I'm after information on the colour scheme for the F-15A (76-112) for the 199FS HANG as used in 1995, depicted in the Italeri kit . The kit instructions show low viz unit markings and tail no., with the standard Dark/Light Ghost Grey scheme. I'm thinking that maybe it should be Mod-Eagle scheme at this time of it's life, cause if it is Mod-Eagle, then I need to find some Mod-Eagle data as the kit only comes with full colour stencilling. All help and info greatly received. Phil Canberra, Australia
  23. 1/48th Italeri F-15A/C No2. The 6th 48th F-15 in my collection of 72nd scale aircraft. "But dear I only build 1/72 scale and this one has ANG decals so one won't hurt". Does this explain away the 16 1/48th F-16s as well.
  24. Hey Badcop, You've done as much in a couple of weeks as I've done in 9 years. I'll try and get some photos up soon. Great job so far MAAAAAAATE!!!!!
