  1. Very nice weathering. I assume it was all done with an airbrush?
  2. Habu's site is awesome. We should pass on whatever information we have to him so that his site can be further improved. I'd be happy to share what information I have, such as scans of a few of the non-Superscale sheets that I own.
  3. Wiggy, I'm very interested in the invastion stripes that you painted over on the model. Do you know much about that practice in the war? I ask only because many years ago (20 years?) I recall someone at an IPMS Nats doing the same thing on a 1/72 CG-4A glider. I thought it looked interesting and want to do the same thing on my own model now. I can see where the troops would've overpainted the stripes on a bomber, but I can't understand a scenario where the troops would've overpainted the stripes on a glider (generally a one-use airplane). Do you have any ideas or suggestions? BTW, nice build
  4. Andrey, I stand corrected. I love your decals! My only complaint is that I probably won't build enough Su-27s and Su-33s to actually use all of those great decals!
  5. What I like about Begemot's decals is that they provide decals for a huge variety of aircraft on one sheet. This new sheet has markings for 20 aircraft! In my mind that justifies the price differential.
  6. I, too, didn't know the Iraqis flew the Etendard. Very nice work on the model. I built it probably 20 years ago and still remember how nice it went together. Did you notice that the "flag" on the tail of the Etendard in the B&W photo is crooked?
  7. Darren, that looks really nice. Well done!
  8. Have you searched this forum? There was a thread about A-6 aftermarket not too long ago. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....6108&hl=a-6
  9. In time, I believe we'll see a model of most everything!
  10. My copies are packed away at the moment, but I wonder if the Squadron H-60 walkaround book or the Landing Zone book would help? There are also the B and F walkarounds on Prime Portal that might offer a visual comparison. http://www.primeportal.net/the_airstrip.htm
  11. Would this help? http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....5&hl=sh-60f I found it via clicking the Search link above and searching for "SH-60F". HTH
  12. Very nice work, edd. The colors are spot-on!
  13. Cool project. Yea, we don't see enough A-6s here on ARC, especially in 1/72.
  14. Stick with 1/72. Yes, it's a challenge, but when done right, a 1/72 model trumps equally well-built models in every other scale. <_<
  15. Wow, excellent model, Joe, for an airplane that is clearly not an easy build! I really like the colors, which appear to be perfectly in scale.
  16. Excellent painting and weathering there, Joe. Well done!
  17. Good idea, Chris. I try to vary the colors/tones on monochromatic paint schemes, if only to visually break up the visual monotony of the aircraft. For black, many guys have had success tinting a basic black color with not just white, but also blues and tans (flesh, to be exact!). I'm not sure there's a huge, visual difference between FS37031 and FS37038, but in 1/72 scale, a subtle difference can go a long way toward a more realistic finish. Before I commit paint to a model, I usually make a series of 1" x 3" paint chips, each color altered a bit, so that I have a solid idea of what the color
  18. Hi José, I've also been researching black paint schemes for a couple of upcoming projects. If you go to the "Tools 'n' Tips" forum here on ARC and search for the word "black" (in the title only), you'll find quite a few discussions about painting black, even specifically for the SR-71. I found them to be very helpful.
  19. That's very nice work, Mark. We often become too dependent on references, detailing, etc. (I know I do), so it's nice to take a break from time to time. Some of my fondest builds are those that were not "serious." Best wishes for your wife's health.
  20. Welcome aboard, Martin. That's a very nice build you have there. You'll make lots of friends here if you like the F-16!
  21. Hi Andrew, I used the Aires cockpit in my MiG-29, and I found that it fit quite well. The big problem were the metal parts, which were almost too delicate to use (couldn't cut them off the fret without distorting them). You can see some inprogress photos here: http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...c=82783&hl= And the final build here: http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...=108311&hl= Now if we can just get a cockpit for Italeri's two-seater!
  22. I'd suggest asking your question on www.planetfigure.com. There are several participants there with experience casting figures both for private use and commercial sale.
  23. Bjarne, that's a beautiful paint job and weathering. Well done!
  24. Bumpity bump...just in case someone can help.
