  1. Willy Wonka meme: "How wonderful! Where do they find all the trained aircrew, ground crew, and spare parts to accomplish this?" Granted, I'd love to see a well-researched book or TV mini-series where China goes after Taiwan, Okinawa, and other US support facilities during their campaign. I've always been curious about the potential results of a surprise attack on our airbases and naval assets, considering the limited production and repair facilities at our disposal.
  2. Caffeinated earthworms. Our lab preferred their coffee sliced...
  3. Can... can we encourage a bunch of guys on the F-35 program to write scathing reviews about his business?
  4. Weren't there several documentaries related to this issue? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GmzrngjOWT8/Tt03wZR3tDI/AAAAAAAAAH0/IEqwoA0AhGQ/s1600/soulhunter.jpg
  5. Here's a list of decent websites. The first one, at the bottom, contains an awesome chart for herbicides and weeds controlled. The important thing to research is the mode of action, even though the chemicals may be different, if the mode of action of how it kills the plant is the same, the weed may still become tolerant/resistant to the herbicide: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/mg/Gardennotes/552.pdf https://www.agry.purdue.edu/turfnew/pubs/ay-9.pdf http://extension.illinois.edu/lawntalk/weeds/broadleaf_weed_problems_in_lawns.cfm One of the website mentions it may be better to apply herbic
  6. Chuck, This is coming from somebody who's in the agricultural kill-all-things undesirable business: How big is the yard? Try to use 2,4-D, once, exactly according to the label. Shoot for a humid, low-breeze, overcast day between 65-85 F (18-30 C). If you get good kill results, wait and try again mid-spring (or when the flower-heads start noticeably popping up) the following year. Frequent repeat use will result in resistance. The application should be okay to allow children and pets out once it is dried (roughly 2-4 hours after application depending on weather). If you don't get termin
  7. But can you build the model to match the box art?
  8. I've felt for a long time we need to revert to a high-tech hunter-gatherer society.

  11. By the way, which MACH 2 kit is that?
  12. For those in Washington State with Facebook who have contacts in the horse/riding community who can pass the word: https://www.facebook...6695000?fref=nf Here's info regarding the Sleepy Hollow fire: http://www.weather.c...chee-washington My cousin-in-law is on a crew actively fighting the fire. Wenatchee is his home town. Take care!
  13. I just have mental images of the thing ricocheting around during a catastrophic impact or tumble.
  14. It's possible I missed this during my scan of the thread, but is it a problem to roll the windows down far enough to vent the heat, yet prevent passersby from reaching in to unlock the doors or cause other mischief? (We're having a local heat wave of 115 F/46.1 C, today, and I've got the windows rolled down and the reflective windshield sun shade up.)
  15. I always liked this one: http://rubmint.com/2...-well-done-win/ Edit: Who's Hana?
  16. Regarding your homegrown adders, I think it's unfair to describe them as "lame": http://vignette2.wik...=20111023142313 I distinctly remember you mentioning you use a CO2 tank for airbrushing, and a toddlers inhalation mask should be readily available considering your profession... (From someone who's spent far too much time medicating and flushing the wounds of a cat that should know better.)
  17. Since it looked like a fabric-covered ultra-light, things really could have gotten interesting had the cat "gone sharp".
  18. http://www.forestry..../forestry/adder Enjoy your hike!
  19. Glad to hear things worked out for Friday. I am absolutely amazed there was no tell-tale swelling or inflammation from the bite. How did a cat in Seattle get nailed by a western rattlesnake (other than in transit from east of the mountains)? http://naturemappingfoundation.org/natmap/maps/wa/reptiles/WA_w_rattlesnake.html
  20. I've always referred to pro-wrestling as "Trailer Trash Theater", but at least it provides some form of performing art by which that demographic can connect and enjoy. Explains the morbid fascination with politics. That d@mn fish again! What kind is it?
  21. Is that the guy who parked a little too close to the firing range at Yakima?
  22. Eventually, I'm sure they'll get to the point where they will print the surface colors along with the shapes.
  23. Any scenes with the sun setting into the ocean or rising over the land?
