The Minicraft/Academy UH-60 kit is the best fitting kit in 48th scale. The troop seats aren't that great but could be made to look correct with a little work. Definately go with the CC resin sets for cockpit and exterior as the kit cockpit is decals and void of detail. The reason for the folding stabilator is transportability in the 160th for rapid deployment. No dumb questions at all David actually good observation any more feel free to ask I have "few" hours in them haha. Erick

Early model UH-60M's had the regular hirss exhaust. All ptoduction M's are now coming with ues and all that had hirss are being retrofitted.

Just got mine in the mail and it looks like on first appearances that the sword resin cockpit rear bulkhead might be a little short on the top end but it fits pretty good still doing some checking but it looks alot better than the kit cockpit. There also may be some tweaking of the instrument panels from the sword to the coamings of the kit but shouldn't be that bad. I am starting mine so more to follow. Erick

Hopefully some company will come out with a proper scaled set of Thunderbird markings for the Talon. The Warbird decals are excellent decals for the Fujimi kit, and just plain excellent decals, I used them on my 48th F-84 and they were awesome. Now if they resized them for the Wolfpack kit that would be awesome. Erick

No the only ones out that I know of are the Warbirds decals for the Fujimi kit which is 1/50th scale kit. The Sword decals are just plain wrong as well missing alot of detail and not even correct. The only good thing about that kit is the resin and pe cockpit.

There are no decals out for a true 48th scale Tbird Talon. Hopefully they will be soon now that the kit is out

Overall it is a great kit and a good representation of the UH-60 out of the box. If you want to superdetail Cobra Company has resin detail sets as does Eduards which will help. It goes together very easy and with the DAP kit you have parts to make other versions of the H-60. If you have more questions pm me Erick

They also just got UH-60M's in that paint scheme, got a walkaround from a Instructor Pilot friend of mine who is assigned there now. He was a WO1 that I flew at Ft Campbell and he taught here with me. Yes it is CWR and has a VIP interior very similar to Marine One. Erick

That pic of the crewcheif seats are actually not used anymore. The new ones are very nice they turn and can raise up and down and slide on a track pallet.
