  1. If you read Mr. Sulc's editorial in the April newsletter, he says that while most of the detail parts in the original kit didn't require changes (at least the way I read it), they changed some of them anyway to make them more detailed, etc. He also says something to the effect that none of their Brassin stuff for the old kit will fit the new kit, which, if they actually did re-design it from the ground up, makes complete sense, since the old kit was so far out of whack. Could you possibly make some of it work? Likely so, but of course they're happy to sell you another $200 worth of resin
  2. If you live or drive close enough to a Tesla Supercharging station, it costs nothing. You get free access to them.
  3. The short answer is yes. If the pod or flutter weight on the top of the vertical fin is the hardest part, and you can't do that, you probably shouldn't waste your money on a 1/48 F-15 kit....
  4. Any idea where or when?
  5. Very clever marketing. The overtrees is $19.95, and the minimum order is $20. Nice try Mr. Sulc.
  6. And I have some waterfront property I'd like to show you...
  7. I did this decal for IPMS/UK Modelworld waaaaaay back in 2000. I can't recall the circumstances, but it didn't end up getting distributed at the show as designed, and I believe Hannants ended up selling them. I've never seen a Tamiya Swordfish built using it. Has anyone? J
  8. According to Elon Musk yesterday they expect deliveries before the end of 2017, and he said he was pretty certain they would meet that goal.
  9. You can reserve one for $1000. They've received over 115,000 deposits so far!
  10. Why couldn't you? You could convert a Spitfire into an F-15A if you really wanted to. :)
  11. According to everything I've read, they have completely retooled the entire kit. Perhaps some of the detail bits are the same, but I'm reading it as an entirely new kit.
  12. I predict that there will be a plethora of aftermarket decals for this kit, covering everything from soup to nuts.
  13. I wouldn't take that bet on a bet.
  14. It's East German camouflage and a black four digit number. I doubt they'd need permission for that.
  15. Approximately. I don't think you can necessarily connect those dots directly though. They pulled all of their non-Japanese business at the same time from what I understand.
  16. Fujimi is very much alive. They stopped distributing outside Japan several years ago because their external sales were so small compared to their domestic sales.
  17. I think my graduation present to myself is going to be a trip to Florida an an L-39 ride. :)
  18. Some of us who served for a full tour with an honorable discharge aren't eligible for VA benefits either. The only things I can ever get from the VA (based on my dates of service, 21 Feb 84 - 20 Feb 88) are the useless VA home loan (which most lenders won't even do anymore, and which is more expensive than a normal loan), VGLI life insurance ($30k), and, had I been able to contribute to it, a whopping $7500 education assistance thing (less than one semester of grad school). The VA would match my money 2:1 up to a max of $7500 total. But at the time, I was a 2nd Lt living on less than $1000
