  1. Yes, I know Mr. Jares quite well, who itself was a technician on the Mi-17 at Hradec-Kralove long, long ago. At Mosonshow 2023 I bought the Annetra Mi-17 in a combo box with some goodies and Slovak AF decals. I am still hoping, that Eduard sometimes will release some rivet decals for this kit as they did for the Mi-24 and Su-25K kits.

Normally, I am going to the Mosonshow with my young modelling friend Pascal https://www.facebook.com/pkproductionsmodels/, but this time we were both not blessed with luck just prior to the show. In my case, it has to do with a slight cold and stress in my job, which led to same fatigue not being able to drive the 1000km. Since I have already registered my new model, the Capeti in 1:48 with the correct forward fuselage, it is double annoying.

I would like to point out, that this was the last Mosonshow under the guide of Andras Egresi. What he has done in the past for the reputation of this event, the Hungarian modelling scene and our hobby in general, can ´t be praised enough with words. I am wishing his successor all the best and that the Mosonshow remains as a benchmark for all modelling events.

Hope to see you next year.

  2. Thank you very much, Gabor! I am very pleased for your informations about this exceptional modelling event, which I have missed this year, unfortunately. Since 2015, I normally attend any Mosonshow, but this year a health issue prevented me from driving the 1000km distance (one way).

All the pictures of your topic and all thise reports elsewhere are showing the very high standard of the models and the large crowd from all over the world, who celebrate this modelling festival with its enthusiastic spirit.

These K36 seats are looking very tasty! Hopefully, it is possible to get those from one of the well known European retailers soon.

But what is in this Annetra bag shown on your first picture?

  3. Hello

The brand new Viper decals from PK Productions for early USAFE F-16s in 1:48 are available now!

This set contains carefully researched decals and instructions in color for F-16A/B Fighting Falcons Block 15 from the 50. TFW at Hahn AB and F-16C/D Block 30 (early) from the Spangdahlem based 52nd TFW squadrons.

Printing is done by Cartograph to the highest standard. Even the smallest text and numbers are readable under a magnifier.

All markings are representing typical cold war Vipers, which were based on USAFE airfields in Germany by that time. However, those aircraft regularly visited bases abroad during shooting exercises like in Turkey and Spain, or airshows througout almost all Western European countries.

The decals can be ordered directly by the producer Shop | PK Productions now or some mail order shops and aftermarket specialist soon. This series will be continued, if sales are successful. Modern aviation modellers, please support this young guy with his projects! Thank you!

  4. After returning yesterday from my 5th Mosonshow I must say, that this was the best until now in my opinion! It was a fantastic experience to be there! You probably never else can see so many nicely built models concentrated at one place on this planet. Please correct me, if I am wrong!

For me, the event started like a disaster on late Friday afternoon, when one of my models for the competition (a MiG-21M in 1:48) crashed, after the box fell upsite down with the model inside. Many parts, most of them were small and some very small, were broken and a few lost. It was alone my own fault, when I was inattentive after a 1000km drive from Trier to Mosonmagyaróvár. I took the model with me to the hotel in Bratislava and was able to mend it at midnight. After an excellent sleep and breakfast, the Mosonshow turned to be very successful for me on Saturday and Sunday.

The hotels in Mosonmagyaróvár mostly are booked out quickly after the date of the coming Mosonshow is announced. Since I am too late every year, I have to drive a longer distance to my hotel, which is either in Bratislava or Györ. Both cities are very nice and 40km away from the Mosonshow and are offering plenty of sightseeing and nightlife opportunities.

Some modelling producers usually bring their freshest products to the Mosonshow every year and this one was no exception. Ya-gabor already has revealed the news about the Ammo of MIG MiiG-17. During a visit at the Eduard stand, I was informed, that they will release a 1:48 Su-25K in Czechoslovak service. It actually will be the Zvezda kit, but is accompanied by decals and a book. The kit will be supplemented by sets of the cockpit and released slats and flaps in their Brassin range, which is very interesting! Their 1:48 Mig_21F probably is coming by the end of this year and the MiG-21U? twoseaters are going to be postponed for later. WWP books has recently released two excellent books about the late Mi-24V/35 and the Su-25, which is a revised one of their earlier offering. Next will be on the NH-90 helicopter and next year, they will pay attention on a famous jet again.

The list of attending VIPs also is impressive, at least for a modelling event. One Minister of the national gouvernement, an Army General, a commander of a nearby air defence unit and the Mayor of the city.

For the next Mosonshow, I am having two wishes: First, that I meet ya-gabor personally, what I have missed this year and second, that modellers and traders from the Ukraine and Russia can be part of it again! Both are sorely missed!

Congratulation to the organizers for this exceptional modelling event, which gave any participant and visitor a sublime feeling to be part of something very special! Until next year!

Reading the Czech modelling forum it was visible that some people were very angry with Annetra for not releasing it for such a long time and when at last it was released they deliberately started attacking the kit. Oh well . . .

In the past I was in contact with some people at the Zvezda company and it was interesting that they were saying about the same: the local modellers were prone to attack local made kits while not being so critical of foreign makers products.

This is something that we have to live with. As I have said before this is why it is important to try to show in parallel, without bias same / similar areas of the different kits, so that the modellers can make a choice based on their own preferences. Some like this, some like something else . . .

As far as I know in a weeks time at Moson show it will be possible for modellers to have a closer look at the actual kitb both Annetra/AMK and the Zvezda.

    Best regards

    Gabor

Very nice action by Gabor! At first letting us know, what kit(s) are best for the more serious modeller and of course the HuAF decal sheet!

Now I have to go to Mosonmagyaróvár next weekend to look at the AMK and Zvezda kits. I didn ´t noticed Annetra on the traders list, but hopefully Mr. Jares will be part of the GHW stand like at previous Mosonshows.

For the next years I am really hoping for a kit or conversion set, which would provide us legacy Mi-8 versions!

  6. Yesterday, I visited a friend close to Spangdahlem AB who already has the new Kinetic F-16AM. After inspection,  this is a must have item for me! Kinetic obviously did an excellent job on it!

We did a side by side comparison of the Kinetic and Tamiya F-16 kits and my impression is, that the Kinetic one is by no way inferior in tooling quality. The finesse of the panel lines is on par with Tamiya, yet in some areas even better! What I never understood is, why Tamiya delivers plug-in plastic parts for two service hatches on the right rear fuselage, rather than the usual representation with finely engraved panel lines. However, both are excellent kits. Kinetic has a better cockpit, more detail in the wheel bays and options for underwing stores.  Tamiya scores with a better engine exhaust and wheels, but those are replaced by aftermarket ones with many modellers.

The quality of the decals of the Kinetic F-16AM are not on par with the excellent ones in many kits from this producer. The Danish and Norwegian national insignia are noticeably wrong, as the style of the Belgian serial number. However, aftermarket solutions are well presented.

On the minus side, the option of strenghening plates for a F-16AM kit would be mandatory into the box. I have one kit with my LHS on order and probably will build it as an early F-16A Block 15 anyway, as all essential options for an early F-16A seem to be offered in the kit.

I am really looking forward to my ordered example and what´s Kinetic will be doing in the future with other F-16 versions and options. My top wishes are strenghening plates for the F-16AM and upgraded -C versions, a tinted canopy and a couple of two seaters of course!

Nicely done, Raymond and keep doing excellent stuff!

  7. If the Italeri kit from the 80s is doing well for you, no problem! It is your choice and if you are happy with it, 👏!

However, the Z-M and Meng kits represent modern almost state of the art technology and this makes the kit an attractive buy for many modellers, even if it the price tag is twice. Figuratively, it is the same with modern cars. A 1980 VW Golf can transport the same number of people from A to B, but the 2022 edition can do it better for most people in these days.

The aforementioned glitches of the Z-M or Meng kits are not that significant and do not affect the good or excellent general impression of these kits in my opinion. Most can be corrected by the avid modeller with little effort or are not eyecatching at all after the model is finished with all the details well elaborated. On the other side, the aftermarket firms will pay extra attention on those popular modelling subjects to offer easy to fix sulutions.

I think the seat belt with reinforcement plate from eduard cost less than 12? we are teaming up with cross delta to make reinforcement set.

of course if you need 3D printer console, it is more expensive than the kit itself.

as for the magfire weapon, the parts designed for magnet installation. I think also it is too complex for those who don’t need to magnet the missile. But it is designed for such purpose.

I understand there are some customers who demand all-in-one (PE… option)

But F-16 is different from other offering from us (eg F-104, IA-58, Harrier) F-16 has huge number of options where no one can offer all specified features.

however our kit also include some feature not available on the market.

So now the argument will be the customer asking why we don’t provide 100% feature of the box version while we provide 95% feature to cover most variant.

same as most maker we cannot make 100% customer happy.

as for the magfire missile, yes if you don’t like it you can use any from the spare box or aftermarket.

The new Kinetic kit looks very promising and I will get some when theses areavailable in Germany.

Please offer a tinted canopy with later versions of the kit as well.

  9. Hello

CMK from Czech Republic will release a conversion kit for the Su-22M-3K with Tumansky engine. The resin kit is developed in cooperation with Vespa Kits from Peru and will fit the Kittyhawk Fitter kits. Only the one seat Su-22M-3K is mentioned on the boxing, but to my understanding the conversion kit also can be used with a Su-22UM-3K with a Tumansky R29BS-300.

I don ´t know, if there are subtle differences between the one- and two seaters with Tumansky engines, may be Ya-Gabor can help. 😉

    https://www.glow2b.de/view.php?sku=7244455

Everybody interested, who missed the Vespa kit, has now a chance to get one soon.

The sole European Tumansky engined Fitter operator was Hungary, but the CMK conversion will not have decals from this country included. Luckily, HAD offers those, however their printing quality is not up to the highest standard, but better than nothing. The Hungarian Fitters are very interesting modelling projects due to the heavily weathered and faded paint they showed at the early 90s. A few aircraft were repainted and are interesting for those, who prefer a more clean look.

I believe Meng collaborates with Boeing (as they did with the Super Hornets) so they have access to actual production drawings and can churn out kits rapidly because they can concentratie on how to make it as a kit, not designing correct shapes.

To my view, they rather collaborate with modellers and aviation geeks, who are knowledgeable in the given subject.

  11. The AN/ALQ 131 is nice, especially for a 52nd (T)FW F-4G. 500 gal. centerline fuel tanks were used until the mid- 80s and if not found in the Meng kit, there are some resting in the spares box.

CAD drawings are looking nice and I am eagerly awaiting this kit!

  12. As with the stencils sheet, the quality is top notch!

An interesting fact is, that two differnet styles of SP tail codes can be found, which never was considered before on a decal sheet of 52nd FW Eagles.

Wing and squadron badges are in the correct size and style, as with the national insignia. Both were often mishappen on previous Eagle decal sheets. Even the accuracy of tail numbers and codes are leaving a lot to be desired on many F-15 sheets, even on some aftermarket ones. On the PK Production sheet, these are perfectly matched and tested for accuracy on the GWH kit. However, those are fitting with no problems on other quarter scale Eagle kits as well.

  13. Sheet 48-002 is named "Eagle Country Bitburg/ Spangdahlem", which contains general markings for a plethora of different F-15A/C/D and stencils for Eagles in the later Mod-Eagle scheme.

An interesting fact is, that the producer has been grown up in a small village in the Eifel, which is located in the approach of former Bitburg Air Base. Since a couple of years, he lives in a town which is situated in the approach of Spangdahlem Air Base. However, due to his young age, he never has seen operational Eagles of the 36th or 52nd (T)FW.
