  1. ouppssss. It makes 3 years that I didn't post any update. It makes also 2 years that I stopped model kits. New job, father for the first time, big big works in the house. I'm working now on my future model kit room . It should be operational in the summer. That's funny because I removed dust on the Nimitz last week. Photoetch kits are Gold Medal Model. Figurines (3D - not flat photoetch), such as tractor are from Goumfy Model (or something like this). Photoetch for planes is from Tomsomething. I will check this week end. Hope that those informations will be helpful. Florent
  2. I've got the CH53E and I'm not interested at all in this version so I don't mind in cutting/sanding/cuting/masticating the Academy base :-) Maybe that I could made a mixt between the Academy CH53E, Revell CH53G, and CC sets. If you have a list of all the corrections to be performed, they would be welcome and quite helpful :-) Many thanks for your answers. Florent
  3. Dear all, It makes a while that I didn't post any topic on ARC such as I didn't touch any plastic :-( I hope that 2012 will be a restart year for my favorite hobbies. One of my main project would be to build a CH53 Pavelow (III or IV). I bought a long time ago the Revell model, such as Cobra Company kits (interior and exterior). Please, let me know what is the best solution : # 1. using the old Revell kit + Cobra Company sets # 2. Using the Academy CH53E with corrections and adding the Cobra Company sets ? I know that there are 3 turbins on the E version vs only 2 on the Pavelow. Do
  4. ouahhhhh....nice job guy. This digital camo was one of my project so be sure that I appreciate you're outstanding job Florent
  5. Hi all Which colours whould you use for your F22 ? I have difficulties with the dark grey. Academy notice suggests a 36118 but I have doubts. Thx for your help Florent
  6. Hi all I spent main of my free time of last week working on photoetch. Cutting, removing, gluing, installing...due to the size of this kit, be sure that it will keep you busy for a 'few' hours. This task is far no be exciting but I think that the results worth it. I bought tractors from Goumfy Models. The detail level is amazing at this scale. And 2 global views of the aircraft carrier Hope you like it. Florent
  7. Hi all As the sun was not in the sky this week-end, I decided to spend main of my free time on a non quite interesting task : the catwalk. A first look of what the plastic parts look like : The first step consits in cuting with precision the plastic as a part of them will have to be kept Sanding, cyano and many patience later... The photoetch catwalk are now glued and the stairs are now installed... This operation takes a lot of time, is not quite exciting but I have to recognize that it's more convincing than the orignal parts. Florent
  8. Hi all, Here are 3 photos of my recent progress on this huge project : plasticard, patience, patience, patience Florent
  9. Hi all I need your help. I bought several sets of staff from Goumffy model in plastic. As I would like to represent some persons on the island deck, could you tell me the colors I have to use to represent their uniform. I imagine that the men on the deck carrier are not the same than the ones on the island....Wich colors I have to use to represent officers ? thx for your help. Florent
  10. Hi , thanks for your comments. Here is a little update of my progress on the island : The windows have been represented with Cristal Klear and I started weathering...a lot of work is still required on this area Florent
  11. Hi all, Here are some picutures of my progress on the island. As said previously, I will represent the Nimitz in the mid 80's configuration. Ray Bean's CD is quite helpful for this....thx guy Florent
  12. hI Cyrus, It seems to me that you started building a Nimitz class carrier...where are you with this project ? What you did is amazing....but it makes a while that you didn't post any update...
  13. Hi all Here is my new project which should could keep me busy for 2009 all year long. I received last week the CD room from Ray Bean which is incredible, such as all the aftermarkets sets required to extra detail this kit : 2 GMM for the Nimitz itself, 2 sets for the Air Wings, 1 decal set, 4 sets of figurines in plastic from Goumfy such as 1 set of tractors. The kit will be built in its mi 80's version. I chosed this period as I will be able to an intersting range of aircrafts such as F14, A6, EA6, A7, Sea King.... The kit will be updgraded thanks to the photoetch kits + a lot of scratch.
  14. Hi all thanks for your comments. Stelios, do you have any picture of the ECM...I didn't find any. Same thing for the templates..it's not too late to add them but i don't know which one - I have the Tamiya phototech parts for the 1/48 F16 so maybe that it could help me to design the pieces in 1/32. I have been also that the RESCUE arrow on the left side was not in the good direction...this issue has been fixed so if you have any comments to do, let'd shoot...It will allow me to perform corrections ASAP. Last question : does HAF has in an inventory the JDAM I attached to my kit ? If not,
