  1. Thank AlienFrogModeller and crackerjazz.
  2. Viking73, that is some really cool flight gear you have. I love the orange instructor flight suit. Everything that you see in my pictures were given to me from a good friend who did two tours in Vietnam as a crew chief. He picked up the mannequin from a department store near his home that was going out of business. They gave it to him. He picked it up in the early 80s. The survival vest pockets or filled with folded up newspapers to make them look full.
  3. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmeEpyxZ. I picked this kit up some time ago from a Flea Market close to my house. Still had the plastic wrap on it. Only $15.00. I’m somewhat leary of getting kits from Flea Markets. It’s more or less a gamble of what you might find inside the box once you open it. This time, the gamble paid off. Everything in the box was in fantastic condition, considering how much dust was on the box when I picked it up. The build itself went great. No fit issues. Decals were great. I used Rest-oleum camouflage specialty paint for the body, and Testors Model Master
  4. Looking forward to seeing this one complete.
  5. Thank you Hooker169. I've always loved the Chinook. Wish I could have flown in one while I was in the service. I want to get Trumpeters 1/35th scale CH-47D some day. Believe or not Whiskey, it does not take up that much space. I've tried to be as inventive as I could displaying my models due to my limited space. I read an article in FineScale Modeler about a fellow that converted a closet into his build area. I've converted the closet in our office at home into my build space.https://flic.kr/s/aHskuPGbWz
  6. Sorry about that RichardL. Thanks Slartibartfast. I opened up a Free Flickr account and played around until I figured out how to post pictures. I appreciate the reply.
  7. Thank you AlienFrogModeller. This one was really fun to detail and weather. I’ve still got a ways to go on improving the process. I’ve seen so many models on this site that completely blow my mind on the effect people can get weathering.
  8. Thanks gentlemen. Appreciate the correct info on the Mavericks Matthew83128. I had no idea that’s how they are carried.
  9. Thanks Hooker169!. They are the ones that came with the kit. To paint the seeker heads, I took a piece of plastic sheet and punched a hole in it. I airbrushed chrome silver first. I let it dry for a day, and then coated it twice with Tamiya Clear Orange.
  10. https://flic.kr/s/aHsm7eC39b The decals finally came in. I didn't dirty up this one to bad. I really have no complaints about the kit, OTHER than the decals. Ordered them from 1001 Modelkits. Shipped on 02/08/18. Got them yesterday in the mail.
  11. That is one awesome build! Love the weathering.
  12. That would be one facility I would love to take a tour at Scooby. (Bell Helicopter).
  13. Thanks AlienFrogModeller. Glad I changed the base. It was good practice. Yes dnl42, the model is tail heavy. I put lead fishing weights in the front gear well. This was the first time I ever dry brushed static flock grass. I used a mixture of Sap Green, and Lemon Yellow oil paints.
  14. This one was built straight from the box. I painted it with Testor's Model Master Enamels. I pre shaded the raised detail with black paint, applied the top coat, then lightly sanded it to reveal the black beneath. (Not my idea. Read it in Finescale Modeler.) I did do a pin wash as well. I also used pastel chalks to simulate dirt and grime.https://flic.kr/s/aHsmfzGZtx
  15. I built this one some time ago. I recently updated the base and model. I have a habit of going back and testing new ideas on models I had already built. This one was originally sitting on a tarmac print from Verlinden. Not to exciting of a display I thought. I took this opportunity to try and improve on my ground work on both sides of the runway. (Taxiway is 150 grit sandpaper cut into squares). Two things I don't enjoy doing, Ground work on diorama's, and figures. As far as the model goes, the original kit decals were awful. All of them silvered badly, no matter how much decal solution I us
