  1. HI Julien Once I have pulled the first Meteor I will show a photo. Cheers for now John
  2. HI Guys I am going to try to keep you all posted with regards to what is available and what is comming very soon. The last post from me kind of went off track a bit near the end so I have started a new one so you can see what is ready to buy and hopefully this will be easier than trawling through old threads. I kind of followed request and did the Hampden first and this is now in production. the following are now selling with postage world wide at cost. Everything is 1/32 scale Handley Page Hampden £30 Yak -3 £17.50 very soon I will have the following ready and should be pulling them
  3. 1/32 Scale Handley Page Hampden vac form kit Yes really 1/32 !!! This model has been vac formed over a male mould in 1.5mm thick High Impact Polystryene for the fuselage halves and engine nacelles. The wings are in 1mm and the canopy is in .5mm PETG the very best clear you can get! This model is for experienced modellers and needs some scratch building. This is the basic canvas and you are the artist who can wotrk your magic. Imagine this built and on display. Look at the enclosed image and you will see there is a 6 inch ruler in the bottom right of the image to show scale. The model in th
  4. I had a family holiday in the USA a couple of years ago, we did New york and was not impressed with it at all. in fact we ended up going onto Washington DC and really enjoyed it there instead. ( yes we did the tourist things in NY like the helicopter ride down the Hudson and around the statue of Liberty Empire state, ground Zero , battery park etc etc etc) We stayed at the holiday inn at JFK we comuted into the city on the metro from Jamacia station and with the day ticket it was not too expensive although it took about an hour each way. Not wanting to start a flame war but I found it to be
  5. The colours are home made mixes as I wasn't happy with the colours quoted, also some of the colours were not in the Gunze paint range but the Mr colour range which is not available here in the UK. Most of the mixes were basic colours with some hints of darker or lighter paints added and they all came from the Gunze range. I am sorry but this is a bit sketchy but I just mix the colour until I am happy with no concerns for how much of X and Y to get the colours I want. Hope this helps? John
  6. HI Guys here is the 1/32 Trumpeter Mig 23 kit from the box. No real problems with this one along the build. This will be for a magazine article for MAihttp://www.modelairplaneinternational.com/ sometime in the fiuture Hope you like her? John
  7. You guys are right about the Galaxy i believe that it was the only one that went to someone else. Most of the rest were kept together. I have bee removing the patterns from the backing boards today and have done 15 of nearly 90 so I have loads left to do. There is some even more good news as this afternoon I had a visit from the orignal owner of the moulds and he was also the man who made them. We spent a few miinutes having a bit of a quiz with some of the patterns that I could not identify and which had come off of thier backing sheets. he managed to identify 99% of the parts so that will he
  8. HI Guys there is good news I have found the rest of the F-84 Thunderjet fuselage so that one number 16 on the list is now complete I have edited my list acccordingly. John
  9. As of yesterday I managed to secure the patterns for this range. I did a list this morning and I have the following. Here is what I have found so far please remember that where I have missing parts I am going to try to speak to the orignal owner and see if he has some of them or alternatively I will try to get the parts and reverse engineer them to make the patterns. As you can imaging some of these are mosnsters and will need specialist vac forming which is too big for my machine. I intend to do a run to the vac formers I have lined up approx twice a year and I would only get those done th
  10. My theory Quite simple really I am currently building this kit. The longer set is for modellers who want to display the model in a flying configuration. I.E. no weight on the gear The shorter set is for on the ground stance! incidentally there is no mention of why in the instructions. Hope this helps John
  11. Hi Shaun The build is pretty much straight from the box with the wings untouched. I did reduce the rivet/fasteners on the nose because I thought they were too heavy. You are right and it is pretty much like previous PCM kits, expect to do some work to get a good result, be prepared to do some filling and sanding to get it all to fit but stick with it. John
  12. I spoke to Bob last week and he said to me that they were in the process of changing thier web site to .co.uk They are reliable and quick so buy with confidence. John
  13. HI John I am in South Devon with poor conectivity however I use NILDRAM and consistiently get, like right now 4.7 MBPS. I am still using a modem and am happy with that set up. I have been with them since 1999 and only ever had no connection twice in the very early days. They are a little expensive but they have U.K. based tech support and the call is a local rate call . If they cannot sort the problem they do actually call you back and talk you through. I have no complaints with them at all. John
  14. rotaliscia Thank you for your comments. I must point out that this is an open public forum and as such we are all entitled to show off any work we do regardless of if it is for a Magazine or not. Whilst I understand your frustration I don't accept that it is un fair as in fact it serves to be a great place for me to get some feedback and in the past it has made me aware of issues I had missed . I do not use it as a method of selling magazines because I am not in marketing and this is just a hobby for me. I have a full time occupation. I make a point of only showing the one photo as I was a
  15. HI Alexander I fully appreciate that you want to see more but as this is a magazine build I always try to be fair to those who buy the magazine and not publish any more than one as a taster on the web. I hope this at least in some small way explains why only one photo? John
  16. HI Kev it was the very same one. Thank you for all of the comments guys. John
  17. Straight from the box again done for MAi. The figure is from MDC and only recently released. Hope you like her?? John
  18. It is there because the way the kit is cast. In essesnce take a look at a kit of 20 years ago and look at the fuselage where it meets the centre line, you will see that there is probably very little detail there and if there is then it would most likely be shallow and indistinct. Now compair that with the latest offerning from Trumpeter and you will see that the detail extends all the way to the vertical split. This is done on split(slide) moulds. Hope this explains it?? John
  19. HI Guys As this is a magazine build I try to not show much of the model before the article is in print. This way I am not upsetting the subscribers of the magazine, who, after all want to see the model but not see it again after it has been all over the web. For that reason I will keep it to one photo. Hope this explains it well enough? Once it has been in print I usually put up some more pictures but this might be a while before she is published. John
  20. HI Guys here is my latest work, it is the Trumpeter 1/32 scale F/A-18E super Hornet straight from the box for a future review in Mai, Hope you like her?/ John
  21. HI Guys Here she finally is after nearly a year of battling her. I finally finished the model for an article in MAi in the future with luck. I used most of the available resin and detail sets that were available at the time of the build. Hope you like her?? John
  22. Bet I can guess who will be up for trumpeter bashing and probably the first to condem the model which no one has yet seen!! ;) Mentioning no names here but I am sure we all know who! Tigger
  23. That model was made by Graham Davies from Thames Valley IPMS, it took the Alan Hall memorial trophy and won its class. And yes it was made from the Airfix Nimrod. HTH John

  25. Yet another PC has now gone wrong on me and I am having to use my 14 year old laptop to get on line. My questions are many and varied so please accept my thank's in advance for any answers I get. 1. I am considering going to apple hardware would you recommend it? 2. considering the cost I am thinking about getting in at the bottom end of the scale with a mini desk top, would this be a good place to get into the MAC? 3. with the Mini I would like to keep the cost down as much as possible, therefore, I would like to utlisise the current monitor which I have as well as the keyboard and mouse(
